Honest opinion... will Michael Carrick survive the 2026/27 season at United?
We want Michael Carrick to SUCCEED at Man Utd - but the season has started badly...
patrockslowkey12d ago
Five games in people. I'm as disappointed as anyone with the start. But for goodness sake get of his back all you keyboard warriors and give the man a go at it. Swapping and changing has been to our detriment in the past. Ease up on the panic mode.
luksricky12d ago
Yes, I have belief in him. Let in Team be no blame Game.

He is suffering from what ALL other managers faced at Utd after Fergi- Player Power. Managers appear unable to affect in-game player behaviour. Players play exactly the same way every game regardless - no reaction or passion. 6 games since Hull -No change.Other teams celebrate even tuckles!-rallying fans with real gusto! All I can see is a P45 + £10m to MC.

Any united fan who wants rashford back in the team is part of the problem
barryroberts7216d ago
I didn't want him back at the club full stop and i personally think he will leave on a free because of his wages, he's just going to keep playing for the money.

What is your ADVICE to Michael Carrick after a poor start to the 2026/27 season?
deansexton466d ago
stop playing players out of possession
plattysared513d ago
Get tough or get out, no place in this game for Mr Nice guy, stop being everyones mates & put them in their place!!!!

knightinwhitesatin13d ago
He needs to stop being.mister nice guy with the players and they need a bit of the Fergie hair drier treatment they don't deserve the wages United are paying them and if they keep performing like this they need bench them and put the kids in like Lacey Armer Amass Montato Ajayi etc who will play for the badge

What are Michael Carrick's three biggest priorities this summer to prepare for 2026/27?🤔
The Manchester United head coach has so much work to do...

Need to add one or two academies to senior squared to strengthen the squard.

Mount is an International midfielder and gets around the opposition well. Start the season with him alongside Mainoo with confidence.
geldroper94d ago
why is nobody thinking about Colyber. When he played in Man U he was pretty good
Aim for next season has got be trying to win fa Cup or carbo Cup to start and be competitive in champions league as well with few good signings I think that more than acceptable don't think we be challenging for league just as remember it sprit not a race that what I be happy with
jwhitbread62133d ago
Yes, top four and a cup! Would love a run in Europe too
taylorjoe41135d ago
Yeah agree with that buddy, a good run in the cups we won’t win the CL or the PL next season but have a good run in both. Maybe the season after we can have a real go at the PL.

jonny135d ago
I agree; Top 4, at least UCL quarter finals and a cup trophy 🏆 would be a good season

What is your INSTANT REACTION as Man United confirm Carrick appointment 🔥
Deserved? Or are you concerned?
geldroper91d ago
With this not buying players they are setting Carrick up for failure. It is embarrising that aclub this big are so viscious
grantfeast123d ago
I'd like to see Carrick smile and nod appreciatively occasionally whilst on the side lines during the matches. Yes, do the moody thing too like every other manager but show passion with energy. Utd fans are a special breed and back our teams and players and managers well beyond others. Utd are the best club in the world
dantowen81951134d ago
One thing he has over Iraola and co - Carrick has proven he can win games at OT! That should not be underestimated, especially as so many talented coaches have struggled amid higher expectations at a bigger club

Brilliant Carrick performance against Forest. I'm very content with the fact he'll be in charge next season.
adnan.riaz136d ago
All for Carrick. It's just a given now.
seanfisher137d ago
I love the fact that he's not afraid to open games up and just go for it! Exciting football back at Old Trafford

Michael Carrick should be given the job , So he has the opportunity to compete with the elite Managers by having the team there and there abouts challenging for titles
adnan.riaz143d ago
Where do you think he would finish in the Premier League table next season amid all of the fixtures that we will have to play?

Michael Carrick and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are set for 'formal talks' over the Man Utd job / What is your reaction?
asulaiterchs138d ago
It's a well done sir God bless 🙏🙏🙏🙏
barbecue223138d ago
He deserves it,let give him the job.
opudoh139d ago
luiz is more experience more than csrrick
Imagine Carrick is the first English manager to win the Prem…

If Arteta can do it… so can super Michael Carrick!

Still think he’s the man for the job, but I do not want to be watching that stuff again. That was awful.
adnan.riaz146d ago
A point is a point. Fergie did the same at times.

MC deserved a permanent job 💪💪💪
adnan.riaz146d ago
It would be stupid to not even try it at this point.
callumfoy148d ago
Agreed. Think he has to be given the full-time role now.
Don't you just love the fact that ex United players yes you Gary Neville want to put your views across, never mind stick to commentating on Sky.
adnan.riaz146d ago
Gary Neville, man. Like a broken record that man.
Stats say he's the first English football manager to win 8 or more of his first nine home premier league games, that speaks volumes.
adnan.riaz146d ago
Gaffer energy.

dancoombs153d ago
Impressive stat
He deserves a full season. The team wants to perform for him. Fans love him. Given our position when he took over he's performing a miracle 3rd is nowhere where we want to be.... We were 15th last season and we gave him a go #weareunited
adnan.riaz146d ago
No doubt about it. Even if it's on a two-year or summat. This has been a really good audition period for him.

callum_boyle152d ago
I was hesitant about this at first but I agree now. He commands the respect of the players and has made the side more tactically astute

Fully support Michael to be next manager, he has been doing well since arrival , Neville was a failed coach , he & Keane are simply ENVY to Michael
adnan.riaz146d ago
His hotel is stationed rent-free in Roy Keane's head.
freddie156d ago
I just think they know the risks of giving it to someone who doesn't have the experience...
Michael Carrick is a good leader and he is a coach of the year
adnan.riaz146d ago

freddie156d ago
Coach of the year is a bit far

Carrick says Top 5 isn't enough. Honestly, based on his run, do you think we are a genuine Title Contender for next season?
abduali0921864316112d ago
Nice
mombasashipchandlersltd136d ago
i just have a feeling Carrick will do it next season let us give him two defenders Marcos Senesi & Hall, Three Middle fielders Tonali , Ederson, Balela, Then get Bowen and Lewandowski (free) am telling you will win this League
contehmohamedmuzain137d ago
Sure
Still think areola is perfect for utd at end of season.Carrick has done well but he's not areola.Hes innovative, forward thinking, his players flog themselves for him,he improves players so much.I wish the club would change their thinking,he's ideal for a lengthy period.I think he's too much class to be into Chelsea, who 1 bad spell, they chuck their gaffer.
damian.p.turner154d ago
Why change to another manager he's a mid table manager in my opinion, managing a team where all the big names are sold off so doesn't have to worry about conflict or players demand, has no real experience of Cl yet people want him. For me he's a step backwards. I know you'll say well Carrick hasn't any Cl experience either. But he does have team that's impo
vatsal161d ago
I feel Iraola lacks a plan B (Remind you of any Portuguese manager?). He's so press-focused that it's hard to see how his style translates to a team that will have the ball 60% of the time.
good coach at the moment
adnan.riaz144d ago
He's cooked so far. He really has.

Chelsea have fired Liam Rosenior - he has been an epic failure compared to Michael Carrick! Where has it gone right at United, and wrong at Chelsea?
Man Utd were level on points with Chelsea when Ruben Amorim was sacked!
steveex2005162d ago
Chelsea have been on the slide since they sacked Tuchel, a coach I would love to see at United.
henryngoro14164d ago
should have given him time
seanfisher164d ago
I think it comes down to respect too… this United squad has a lot of respect for Carrick.. something Rosenior never had at Chelsea

All the comments making out Carrick and Holland are miracle workers 🤣 we have been genuinely poor since the first 2 games, just been lucky with moments and the end result. After the Leeds game I fear trouble ahead but either way we should be getting a better manager and players if we want to compete for trophies. Amorim had won.. What's Carrick won?
rbrown0806157d ago
Correct. Not been convincing at all. We rarely dominate a game against any opposition. Lucky to beat a Brentford Team, who left their shooting boots at home. We coyld easiky have conceded 4 or 5.
winva2002159d ago
U do not understand football. What u expect ? Manager , witch never lose ?
geldroper164d ago
where have you been for the last 8 games. yes they need better players but nobody bu you are saying that they are miracle workersbut that doesn't makke them bad coaches. We do not need coaches who want to spend unreal money. we neeed players who bleed Man U just as we fans what you are surely not

Is Michael Carrick the right man? United have only won one of the last four games...
winva2002159d ago
United fans are one of the best, and in same time one of the worst. Football today, and before, for the elite manager is psihologic. Anceloti say i one moment "what to say to Ibrahimovic, how to play football ?No, it is elite plyer, and my job is to make him motivated in every game." If u have player group witch belive in u, u are already done great.
daniel.owen165d ago
I do place a lot of importance on a manager who understands the pressure of playing for United, a la Zidane at Real. Amorim always seemed to underestimate that
♥ 1
ebaalobi4166d ago
With what he has done so far i believe with the backing of INEOS and the entire Manchester United board, he is the right man for the job. Thanks.
Solsker is a pundit won fuckall as a manager got sacked useless

Ole was also good but I think he did not get enough time and he loses simple matches We scored record goals there was positivety
vatsal179d ago
Absolutely agreed! Ole gets treated harshly when he did way better than "geniuses" like Ruben Amorim. Do you ever wonder how United would be doing now if he was appointed again instead of Carrick?
♥ 2
Carrick give the good sprit and togetherness that is help them to win and read the game
seanfisher181d ago
Would you give Carrick the job in the summer? 👀

What position would Man Utd be in the league if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed instead of Michael Carrick?
How do you think it would have gone with Ole?
daniel.owen172d ago
Genuinely have no idea haha I feel like it wouldn't be much different from what we are seeing right now
adnan.riaz180d ago
Really hard to say. I would like to say fourth, but I'm leaning towards fifth... 😐
dancoombs180d ago
I think we would be around six points worse off. I like Ole but there was a lot history/hangover there. Carrick was more of a clean slate - and I don’t think anybody could have done better than he has
Carrick has my support,he deserves the opportunity
dale.odonnell184d ago

Michael carrick definitely for manger he has done a great job

YOU are Michael Carrick - Pitch why you should be permanent Man Utd manager to Ineos
Give us your two-line pitch...
colliewarrior171d ago
Ineos don’t know what they are doing and the two losses show that Carrick is clearly not the best available so no doubt he’ll get the job
shyllonmohamed132171d ago
Is the man
zeke.wolf42178d ago
7W 2D 1L, beating both City and Arsenal well. The club needs to build around a functioning and stable leadership, which it hasn't had for most of a decade.

What is Michael Carrick's best decision at Man Utd so far?

Solidify our Defense and our midfield! Management should support him in this direction.
seanfisher195d ago
Who would be your top target for the summer?
Exactly. Roy - No one cares pal!! I've said it for years, Roy is sooo bitter about the way he was jettisoned by Sir Alex (who as always was doing his best for the club) and is obviously a jealous, bitter, petty, revengeful (the list goes on) person. However, the media need to stop asking him and using him for Utd games. He recently said he wasn't a fan..
mel.b100187d ago
Keane should stop the moaning on, the critical comments etc etc, it's boring! It helps no one! Carrick has started (not finished yet) to turn this team around and get them back on the road to actually being a feared team again, just as they were under Ferguson!
♥ 3
dale.odonnell193d ago
Well said, though Fergie wasn’t completely innocent in the feud either. Could have dealt with it better.
archcurrie7195d ago
I completely agree with you Thanks

By nurturing his players Carrick has managed to re-vitalise the team that was down and out caused by an autocratic previous coach, and bring them back to life for us, as fans, to enjoy watching a game. Roy must stop his attitude and comments. He must first go and coach a side and demonstrate that he can do better in the same time frame as Carrick.
