After watching Germany at the World Cup I am GLAD United did not go for Nagelsmann

Enrique? 👀👀
Iraola top of the list but Carrick is Man U to the core so I'd give him a chance. Apart from anything else the Players like and respect him.
jonny160d ago
I think Iraola thrives as the underdog, not sure he’d cope under the brightest lights
I read today that Ratcliff is unsure. He has made so many BAD decisions , if he doesn't feel Carrick is the right man, it must be the correct choice. I can't get over how clueless Ratcliff is, how did he ever get rich? He has been a disaster since he has come in. Carrick gets a 2 year contract, if he's brilliant, then extend it to 5 if he's crap, he goes.

Agree with you and jonathan.maze - it’s like a game of opposites! I can’t see any reason not to give him a go, he’s made such a difference

This is spot on. Appointing anybody else this summer unless it’s Luis Enrique is a needless risk. Chances are nobody will match the success Carrick has had, setting up a new manager to fail unless we give Carrick a proper chance.

Top of the B-list, for me. Plays good football and is ‘Prem proven’

Begs the question: who is on your A-list of candidates for the job?
Unai Emery
jf7dw878s8164d ago
what's he done with Villa? How is he an improvement?
dale.odonnell164d ago
Deserves to be on the list, but personally, I wouldn't go as far as to interview him for the job. Villa is his level.
jonny166d ago
Interesting! I don't know if he's too much in the Amorim/Frank bracket - he struggled at Arsenal.
Michael Carrick deserve United job than anyone as it's. Let the club give him 2years contract and see.
dancoombs167d ago
Two years, maybe three, does seem like a reasonable expectation. We have learned our lesson since we gave six to David Moyes

Where does Andoni Iraola rank for you among Michael Carrick alternatives?
Would you want Iraola at Old Trafford, now he is ready for a new challenge?
warinj47153d ago
No where give me Michael Carrick any day
robsenga160d ago
Not anywhere near Carrick!! Please, for the sake of the club and fans, let’s fix our eyes on Carrick. the man saved us the heartache from Amorim! Am sure even Bruno and colleagues share the same feeling.

He doesn't

Are you happy Manchester United opted not to appoint Roberto De Zerbi?
Roberto De Zerbi was no stranger to Manchester United links.
damian.p.turner169d ago
Carrick is the man for the job..... Look how it's transformed, the Leeds result was a shock. It's football it happens. However UCL football you have to give him a season to prove it wasn't a fluke. I would hate to see another manager come in and set us back.. We go forward #weareunited

"Happy" is understating it. Would have been a disaster waiting to happen

If not Michael Carrick... WHO ELSE?
Can you name a good available alternative to Michael Carrick you actually want?
patrockslowkey160d ago
There isn't one. He proved he can handle pressure. He bleeds Man U blood. What More do we need. Wake up Ratcliffe

My 3 options, Tuchel, Zidane and Enrique are not available so it must be Carrick. If the owners have doubts then give him a one year contract. If he continues to do well then give him a 3 year one

Anyone but Garath Southgate. I've been a United fan for 60 years and will stop watching them if its Southgate. I'd Sooner Amorim.

Where does Julian Nagelsmann rank in Man United's new manager shortlist?
Would you be concerned of his similarities with Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag?
beattoncorrin166d ago
He won the Bundesliga with Bayern, so has Vince Kompany, does this make them elite ??

If scared of carrick the best option is Luis Enrique pliz

georgewilliamz502174d ago
He is a top level manager than carrick

How do you rate Roberto Martinez's chances of becoming Man United manager?
Is he a viable contender?
jf7dw878s8164d ago
If he gets the job, I 'm not watching United till he leaves

It's not April fools day again is it?

Poor

Would you like to see Gareth Southgate become next Man Utd manager?
jd48cam166d ago
No.
freddie189d ago
He'd bring players closer together as he is a bit of a yes man, but in terms of his managerial ability, deffo not
dancoombs190d ago
Never!!!
For now, Carrick is the best because seeing is believing. You can't doubt what you see. But let's see how it goes at end of 12 games.
cjllmota3193d ago
Yeah just let's hope he can learn how and when do substitutions ,not like when maguire had the red card and he take cunha out when with Bruno he is the best player in keeping the ball and leaving others that can't even control the ball and even less make good passes forward
vatsal232d ago
Think the job is his to lose if he finishes higher than fourth

I was hearing that they were looking to higher a new manager named Thomas Tuchel, but he remained as the national manager for the England football club. As for another one, the options are still open, they are considering Luis Enrique and Roberto De Zerbi.

I would have liked if Carrick brought Rooney or Ven Nistelrooy in for striker coach and teach our young strikers the skill to be great
housleychris5196d ago
NOT Rooney. Good as he was he's not going to be taken seriously, unfortunately. By the players, and the MU fans, yes but not by the media, and these days that's something that has to be taken on board.
Martinez to centre midfeild Yoro at the back. Give Harry a new contract.

SAF wasn't a prolific manager prior to MU
deanrobinson595237d ago
He won a European cup with Aberdeen (that's not nothing!!)

It would be brain dead to give Carrick the job if he gets top 4 I'd still not be sure he was sacked by Middlesbrough after two seasons He has one game a wk How would he manage 4 competitions like Arsenal I not repeat Ole at the wheel If he gets the job it should be one year rolling contract Sick of all these shit managers walking away with tens of millions
stephenjholmes237d ago
Are you Roy Keane in disguise? Only him, Neville, Scholes, and Butt Crack would talk such drivel!

israelchidi58237d ago
How many games in other competitions did Amorin play this season and still flopped. You may not like Carrick but the results speak for itself, your opinion will be different if it was another name.

Any coach who wants more time to show good results is not good for manU

Zinedine zidane

Zidane will be France manager after the world cup
deanrobinson595237d ago
I'm pretty sure he's got some kind of arrangement with the french football federation to take the mantle of France manager after the world cup. But you are most definitely spot on he would be my 1st choice. Our players didn't respect Amorim. Zi Zu Would 100% have the players respect if not he would demand it!!!

Ancelotti will be perfect for United. But he needs to be given time and money to arrange and position the team for both domestic and European football success. With him on board, a UCL trophy might be on the cards. That's his speciality.
mcharopatrick63241d ago
Is Currick given Money 💰 and time to show quality 🤣🤣
seanfisher249d ago
I feel like Ineos will be scared of Ancelotti not being a long-term project

Who should be the preferred option of a striker for Manchester United
zeke.wolf42249d ago
Depends on the opponent. Against a low block, we need Sesko, because he's a finisher as well as a link up man. Other games, where we want fluidity, Mbeumo or Cunha are ideal. Horses for courses
Carrick should continue for the rest of the season and if he proves consistent enough, then he gets the job and and vice versa. Had Amorim not been signed in a hurry, i believe we would have been in a better stead with Ruud at the helms of affairs.
