As things stand - what is success for Manchester United this season.

dancoombs3h ago

Same as every season - win a trophy is the objective. Also imperative to finish in the CL places again for consistency Another way to look at it- if Carrick is still manager this time next year, then we have successfully avoided another blow-up

chillout5h ago

As things stand, even getting into Europe in some capacity would be success. So strange for the club to be in disarray again - I really thought United and Carrick would kick on this season.

Excluding Cristiano Ronaldo, which former Man United player would you add to the current team, and why?

You can choose anyone!

gls4manu3h ago

Big Duncan Edwards

jdotan710h ago

Rooney

kyle.dimond10h ago

Rio. Argument for Keane too but that feels a bit harsh on Baleba who still needs time.

According to a report in Italy, Napoli are likely to sell Scott McTominay next summer as they can’t afford to offer him a contract extension and don’t want to lose him for free Would you want United to buy him back? What is he worth?

mufcgrw19771d ago

Never go back - as was proved by Ronaldo

dantowen819512d ago

I’d take him back for a good fee. Cant have too many goalscorers. Also, think he’d be a sensible replacement for Mount

Did Bruno just prove Portugal are better without Ronaldo?

Where would Portugal have finished at the World Cup if Ronaldo didn't go? 👀

mufcgrw19771d ago

Who cares - just come back safe to OT

geldroper2d ago

Ronaldo is starting to realize he is not top dog anymore. He still wants to stay for Uero 28 but that is not going to happen. Time to retire from Portugal and make his 1000 goals and call it quits

dale.odonnell3d ago

Portugal would have been better without Ronaldo at the World Cup in the summer. Bruno was magic in the No.10 role last night. That pass for his second assist was something else, picking out the smallest man on the pitch. 🔥

Here we go again Bruno was playing through pain for 3 games then rested for 1 now apparently he'll be fit enough to play the next Portugal games us that him being his own worst enemy again or his manager Jesus pushing him and 2 players returning to Carrington Mazraoui and Dorgu Injured on International duty .Will Fernandes add to that list and others too?

dancoombs4d ago

Bruno will play, unfortunately. I do wonder what he makes of Ronaldo’s latest strop

Something tells me Fernandes will insist on playing, but we are starting to see the signs of him breaking down a bit after years playing through injuries and pain… club need to be proactive and protect him

Who is the most underrated Man United player of the Premier League era, and why? 🤔

stephenjholmes11d ago

Denis Irwin

pranav.shahaney3d ago

It was definitely Carrick. Park was praised a lot for his versatility and work-rate. Carrick did so much of the dirty work in a midfield pivot and also controlled the tempo so well. England would have had better results in major tournaments if he was at the base of their midfield and two of Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard starting ahead based on the opponents

amirmir3d ago

Ruud van Nistelrooy. Best pure finisher in United's history. Of course based on what players did whilst they were at the club, so not Real Madrid Ronaldo.

SNAP Man City out of existence... What is your biggest WHAT IF? for Manchester United over the past two decades?

Do you have another one we haven't mentioned? How would history have changed?

ericisgod663d ago

Biggest what if, theres 3.....what if the FA didnt throw FA Rule34 under the bus, what if Murdoch bought us instead of Glazer, what if the EPL, FA and others served footballs best intrrests in 2005.

So it is emerging that City knew about their guilty verdict back in the summer, prompting them to spend £350m on new players. This can’t be right? Would Elliot Anderson be a United player now if City were given a transfer ban at the time?

thetruthpersonified5d ago

I still cannot believe they are guilty. Listening to their statements and leaked internal videos suggests their legal team have all this covered and they have provided counter evidence to the sham contracts. Of course they are capable of lying, but something feels off here based on how far apart the parties are on this.. Could the PL have F'd up?

adnan.riaz5d ago

Not only him! Think about HOW many players would have ended at other clubs had it not been for Man City's shady business.

United need to demand Fernandes returns to Carrington for treatment and not risk aggravating his injury by playing for Portugal again in the competition it's reminiscent of Shaw going on international duty when he was injured and couldn't play with the excuse so he could be with the squad and we paid for that with Shaw's long absence

caleb.sage5d ago

Can’t afford to risk Bruno. Nations League feels so worthless as well, it’s not like it’s a qualifier.

♥ 1

dale.odonnell5d ago

United need to be more reckless in these situation. Demand he returns and stop being so nice. We pay his wages after all.

adnan.riaz5d ago

What do you think of Wayne Rooney's comments? He says he 'doesn't deserve' the 2011/12 league title

City could be stripped of their league titles, posing the question over who would become champions?

plattysared54d ago

It's one thing saying you should have had them but when you didn't how can you celebrate it 14 years later, you can't, I don't want Utd to get more titles off City, but I do want City stripped of them because they didn't win them, the only good thing that Utd would get us at least it wouldn't be 13 years since our last title, but it papers over the cracks!!!

♥ 1

daviescallum424d ago

I think they should lose all their titles, but others shouldn’t be awarded them. Just null and void

adnan.riaz4d ago

I don't blame him for saying it. It's hard to accept in the circumstances. But Man City should be punished and their trophy should be struck off.

City’s 115 charges vs. The Glazer Takeover: Which is the worse crime against football?

ericisgod663d ago

And that killed Rule34 and so ended over 100 years of protection from greedy investors znd owners, protection that was implemented for the fans too

ericisgod663d ago

I agree dale odonnell and i have been part of it since joining Shareholders in 2000. Got my 1 share when i joined. Had 11 when advised to sell. Kept all sorts of news electronic and hardcopy. Im not a journo but wrote a book about it released early 2023 recently updated to june 30 2026

dale.odonnell6d ago

For me, it’s the Glazers. I’ve been writing about their debt-ridden takeover since I got into journalism. Looking at the bigger picture, City have cheated the entire league and football pyramid. Europe too, even if they got away with that. It’s seismic. The difference here is the Premier League ignored the Glazer takeover. PL and the UK government.

Owners should be forched to sell and every team should be compesated. With that Man City will not even have the money to pay there players so they would be back to square one. That way ist would be fair to the other divvisions they should be relegated to. Otherwise can you imagine all those playersin a lower division would be a vacation to them

plattysared57d ago

Fit & Proper owners' test, how could the Glazers & Ratcliffe pass that, they couldn't, they should be forced to sell up & get out of the club but clear all debts when they go!!! 🤔

♥ 3

dancoombs7d ago

I agree with this. The so-called Fit and Proper Persons test. If you have overseen cheating at your club on an industrial scale, then you are quite clearly not Fit and Proper to own a football club. They should be kicked out

seanfisher7d ago

I doubt any side will be getting compensation, it just becomes too complicated. I think relegation could be on the cards for City though with a huge points deduction

David de Gea wants his medals...!

De Gea was part of the United team who finished second in 2012 and 2018...

gomatz777d ago

Don't think they'll go to United or any team. As much as City deserve to be punished, getting those stripped off titles don't add to the legacy points of these teams or players.

♥ 3

leeclarke05087d ago

Nah can't start stripping titles off folks. They'll be tarnished forever anyway. Just deduct enough points to ensure Champ footy next season.

seanfisher7d ago

I can’t see titles officially being handed to other clubs. Although I do think City will be stripped of their achievements. But trying to crown another winner does get a bit murky. For example, you’d have to look at who City took points from in each season etc

Do YOU want Man Utd to get the two titles owed if City are stripped of theirs? Jose Mourinho has made his position clear

United 'finished second' in 2012 and 2018 for the period related to City's 115 charges

rodstorey4d ago

Difference is City put illegal money in. Glaziers robbed MU of legal money, making the club poorer

ericisgod665d ago

Im not sure anyone will take United on. The value of the club has risen to Glazers would want more, then there is £2-4 billion for stadium, the total debt of £1.4 billion that they wont fix before they go. If they were to sell they would want between $6 and $10 billion so someone will need between $10.6 and approx $18 billion to put it right.

ericisgod665d ago

I stafted a Gofund me recently GROG- Get Rid Of Glazers. I did it in anger after The city loss.

Manchester City found guilty on almost all Premier League charges

Big news this afternoon! How should Man City be punished? 👀

jonny9d ago

With the news of United investigating losses due to City cheating, we might see our financial woes fixed if they are ordered to pay compensation. Reputational, direct prize money, commercial and sporting losses - all equals £200m at least I would say… no chance United stayed struggling if we won the league in 2018

barryroberts727d ago

If this break was for three weeks like they say, then having a week off won't do any harm. When they get back to Carrington they will probably just do some running and a bit of gym work.

I can't understand why there's a 3 ft downward slope it seems rather dangerous and is part of the problem with Sesko's shin injury and has only been kept as part of the club's history not for water drainage now as it's not needed for modern pitches and was added in 1938

dancoombs9d ago

I agree it’s dangerous. I can’t imagine the new stadium would be built with the same issue, so there’s that at least. The club did try to make some changes over the summer to mitigate the issue

So we've borrowed another £90 million taking the total to £1.15 billion now

dale.odonnell10d ago

So, Ratcliffe has make a few hundred redundant and brought in some overpaid charlatans who know nothing about football. The figures also show that United spent £63.5m on buying land but fed excuses over shortcomings in the transfer market where *serious* investment is needed. Alarming stuff if you ask me.

Let us know your views on the state of Manchester United...

ericisgod668d ago

We are at least 2 seasons away from challenging for EPL. We are NOT out of UCL qualification. Carrick should be using as many players as possible from last season in his starting 11. Rashfords approach to the Fulham game and his participation is the same as the player who we wanted gone. Make him earn his spot not walk into one. Dont give up!! Its 5 games

♥ 1

thetruthpersonified10d ago

If we are all honest, we are in perpetual crisis since SAF retired. We frequently kid ourselves and get all giddy, but the club is a mess and therefore "in crisis". We again hoped with MC finishing well, that we were saved, but alas the crisis is still there, it just tricked us for a while. So yes, always in crisis, we are just also forever in hope.

Man Utd post record revenues of £677.6m for the full financial year to 30 June, 2026

The figures correspond to a year without European football. What are your views on United's financial results?

adnan.riaz11d ago

It’s not impressive when you put it into the full picture. It shows how badly Man Utd have been run and the massive impact that the Glazers have had — the debt is more important than the revenue numbers.

What has been Manchester United's BIGGEST PROBLEM to start the 2026/27 season?

What is your INSTANT REACTION to seeing United's placing in the Premier League table after five games?

delyuzar8d ago

We failed to anticipate that will no longer have Casemeiro that for sure. Then the back has not been solid so far. And I hate to say if our players are lazy, the fact is very rate we see the movement without the ball they are all to predictable.

freddie12d ago

Defence is crap and thr midfield has no legs. When Baleba is fully fit it should sort out a little, but need some defensive reinforcements in January

amafuta12d ago

Carrick should have only picked one player to fill the Casemiro's role into last season's team. Rashford should have stayed on the bench & keep Cunha on the left. To my observation, this has unsettled the whole team & also adding that Mbeumo is not at his best, he should be benched for Lacey. No one except the captain maybe should be untouchable.
