Think about this: the season where the world cup is scheduled after, how have Shaw performed? And then, the season immediately after the world cup? I sense that he focused really hard and played really well in order to be selected for the World Cup. When he was overlooked, Shaw motivation is questionable. I would use Amass over Shaw in lieu of this.

I think the World Cup was a huge motivating factor for Shaw last season, and he will be disappointed he didn’t make it. But that’s no excuse for him to drop off this season, he has the chance to play in the Champions League again and compete for a title

We overall didn't help Carrick at all and setting him up for failure. I think Man U is more interested at making money then trophies. Hope we stay in the top 5 this season

It is exposed that Man U is getting old in defense. Shaw , Martinez and Maquirre are clear behind their prime and now slower then they always were. We have to look at ouryoungsters instead of selling them. Martinez should be sold to zItaly or Spain or Portugal where the slower game is good for him. The same next season with Shaw. This game was a must win even though it's a friendly because of who the manager is, well that went t..s up. What the heck happened to our defence were they still on their Hols, we need a striker not any player who can go up front one who's reg as a striker, we need a LB to cover for Amass as Shaw will be done in the PL, Wilcox get your finger out.

Yes, we will meet better teams than AC Milan in Europe this season, and we must get a proper elite DM who can control games from deep. Stop penny pinching and pay the money for a top top DM. We also need to sort out our backline.

I did not need to have mind changed - Zirkee is a proper player, very good on ball, surprising solutions, there is no reason to let him go, let alone on loan, not to mention Juvmafius

Josh is a useful option. Carrick thinks so, like Amass he keeps selecting him in pre-season. I get it, by all accounts he's great on the training pitch, and in the changing room. I know he's had two years, but very different head coach now, putting his own stamp on the side. Give him one more.
