Here’s rankings 30-21 of our top 50 and we are getting down to the business end now! What are your thoughts? 👀
Should anyone be higher or lower?
kyle.dimond7h ago
Hard to rank Mbappe because he still has so many top level years left. There better be some defenders I’m forgetting if they’re higher than Baresi and Maldini. Gold standards
james.brooke7h ago
Would love to know the criteria here. Mbappe shouldn’t be in the top 25 for me. Hasn’t fulfilled his potential yet
charlesjones8h ago
Stanley Matthews 😂 better than Mo Salah is he

After getting the chance to fulfill his dream of leading Bosnia & Herzegovina out at a World Cup, Edin Dzeko retired from international football following their Nations League game against Sweden. Where does Dzeko come into the conversation of great strikers over the years?
Dzeko thought he had scored against Sweden in his final game but it was sadly ruled out 😯
dantowen819511d ago
Dzeko is top of the B-list for me! The Jason Clarke of strikers - top-class, just not quite among the genuine elite
♥ 1
callum_boyle2d ago
I think he’s underrated if anything. A prolific goalscorer pretty much everywhere he’s been and never got the limelight compared to others. A true role model to the people of Bosnia

A very very very good striker who could be elite on his day

Here's rankings 40-31 of our top 50! Henry makes the list, but should he, or anyone else, be higher? 👀 Let us know below! 👇
gomatz773h ago
Why is Henry out of the Top 20 mahn!! Arguably the greatest Prem has seen and we have him so low in the all-time list
kyle.dimond1d ago
I am not old enough to comment on a number of these players but the ones I did watch are all in the wrong places 😂😂😂 If there have been 34 people that were better at football than Thierry Henry, I guess I was watching the wrong sport the whole time
dancoombs2d ago
There is absolute no way Benzema is better than Batistuta - who was in the previous list

Cristiano Ronaldo has left Portugal's training camp after being an unused substitute vs Norway… what are your thoughts on this? 😬
dancoombs3d ago
I love Ronaldo but I can’t defend him here
amirmir3d ago
To be fair, Luka Modric is 40 and still playing. Yet there isn't a pile on for him to retire.
thetruthpersonified3d ago
What's betting it was cos coach informed Ron that he would not start...

We're ranking the 50 best footballers of all time! Rooney and Salah made the cut, but should they be higher on the list? 👀 Give us your thoughts below 👇
Check back tomorrow for our 40-31 rankings!
kyle.dimond1d ago
Always hard to rank keepers in these lists but gut reaction was Buffon should be higher. Rooney, on the other hand, accurate
dancoombs2d ago
Took me ages to double check it.. I knew I remembered him… DidI was a legend for Classic Brazil on Pro Evo 2
david.comerford4d ago
I'm glad multiple people haven't heard of Didi, was questioning my football knowledge for a second

The injuries are piling up 😟What would YOU do to change the workload players face these days?!
Injuries on international duty must SERIOUSLY annoy clubs 😡
knightinwhitesatin2d ago
They'll think up expanding competitions like they are going to do with the World Cup and have done with the Club World Cup which Chelsea won and Infantino voided all winners of the old format and called Chelsea the first winners of the CWC and think up new moneymakers because that's all it is not for International fame but to fill FIFA's coffers with money
dale.odonnell5d ago
Lessen the fixture load, starting with internationals.
dancoombs5d ago
End of season only for internationals, problem solved

Should Max Dowman be called up to the England squad this month? 🤔
peter.lynch18d ago
I think a call up isn’t far away tbh, and could see it happening in the next international break. But do I think he should be there? No. Definitely shouldn’t be rushed into things, plenty of other football for him to get stuck into below the seniors!
♥ 1
callum_boyle18d ago
No, absolutely no need to rush him in. Needs more time in the U21s and, despite being a talent, hasn’t had enough game time
jameslloyd14.jl18d ago
Nah no need to rush things

🚨Lionel Messi has announced his retirement from international football! Give us your immediate reaction
What are some of the best Messi moments for Argentina?
sowyn29717d ago
None of them came from openplay messi takes corners , Ronaldo never took a corner in his life crazy how u did not mention it
dale.odonnell23d ago
Happy I got the witness his greatness, even though he helped spoil two Champions League finals for me.
petrabravencova127d ago
😂 A cheeky one could be: Such a shame Messi retired without ever managing to lead Argentina to a World Cup win. 😂🏆🇦🇷

The ratings are out for EAFC 27, with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland the joint-highest on 91. What do you make of the list?
Anyone missing or deserve to be higher?
thatfan32d ago
😂
thatfan32d ago
I'd not have Haaland same as Mbappe. He scores a lot but his workmate is nothing like
jameslloyd14.jl48d ago
Hadn’t Vitinha been given a 90 rating too? Most overrated player itw
Sebastien Pocognoli is the NEW Scotland manager? Thoughts? 👀
jonathan.gorrie49d ago
Can’t imagine this will go well whatsoever
jamesshearman2349d ago
Does he like a drink? That’s more important to Scottish fans than winning football matches
freddie49d ago
Failed at Monaco pretty badly… he’ll suit Scotland then. Tbf, no matter who they get, they don’t have the players to compete

Roberto Martinez is in talks to become Netherlands manager!? How does this guy keep getting these jobs? He ruined Portugal 😭
dantowen8195152d ago
Haha what do you reckon of Xavi? I love the thought that he’s taken the Dutch job cause of his admiration for Cruyff
They will not reach quarter finals in 2030 world cup they will struggle make round of 16

Infantino wants to trade a World Cup final for loyalty — is it time for football to leave FIFA behind?
The FIFA president has reportedly offered the final to Morocco in exchange for backing 😳
kyle.dimond58d ago
I would be very fine with that. Infantino is awful but I imagine there are plenty of other similar people lining up behind him to take his spot. Get rid.
dantowen8195158d ago
Infantino is what happens when someone doesn’t get told ‘no’ for a long time FIFA has been getting in its own way for as long as I’ve been alive! I’d like Ceferin to get Infantino’s job ideally, or get someone like Maldini in there
kyle.archer58d ago
A UEFA-led global Nations League would just be like an international version of the Super League, surely? More control and money due to not liking how the other tournament is being run (and by whom)
♥ 1
The USMNT made the last 16 on home soil. What's the minimum acceptable return for Pochettino in 2030?
There's work to be done 😅
shamanth.jayaram61d ago
Poch has done a great job there but four years is a long time in football and I don’t even think he’ll be there for the next World Cup: surely there’s a release clause that a club will trigger by then
david.comerford61d ago
It's hard to say before you know what shape the squad is in. I guess you just need to see progress and a direction, even though it sounds cliché. They're still at least two or three cycles away from being a serious contender
billy.meyers61d ago
Hard to say at the moment considering how far away the next World Cup is BUT one thing I do know is that the US absolutely have to overhaul their youth system Having to pay to play effectively blacklists those who are probably the likeliest to become stars - the hungry players from poor backgrounds wanting to help their families. Has to change 👎
Infantino needs to fall on his sword now - he has lost all credibility. If he had a shred of decency about him, he would do the right thing and resign. But this is FIFA, and FIFA bosses rarely go quietly. Infantino has now made FIFA a laughing stock - he surely is dead man walking ?
fan60d ago
jackgallagher64d ago
I think this is the final nail in the coffin for him. He'll be gone very soon and replaced by a uefa choice
dancoombs64d ago
I am quite confident Infantino will be gone before the next World Cup. As for who replaces him, FIFA’s track record doesn’t inspire me with confidence
With Infantino bringing the game into disrepute, which former player or manager do you think would be a good FIFA president? For me it has to be Klopp, he puts the players first, understands and empathises with fan culture and is a football romantic. Ticks every box. Maybe in four years after he’s won the World Cup with Germany…
dancoombs64d ago
I think Arsene Wenger is more likely
kyle.dimond65d ago
I think Pep and Klopp would be great spokespersons due to their enthusiasm. Feels like they care about the fans. I don’t think it would make a difference though. One change isn’t going to crumble that house of cards
thetruthpersonified65d ago
Stikes me that the president does not matter as the whole organisation is rotten from top to bottom. Anyone involved seems to become corrupted. Need to pull the whole rotten house down and stat again!!

Tributes pour in for Franco Baresi after his death aged 66
What is your favourite memory from his stunning career?
dancoombs64d ago
Baresi is unfortunately remembered for his penalty miss at World Cup ‘94 - but what really stood out was how he locked up Romario in the Final, masterclass in defending
adnan.riaz65d ago
What an unreal player he was. 💔😭
barry.fraser65d ago
3 European Cups/Champions Leagues with AC Milan 6 Serie A titles with AC Milan 1 World Cup win (Italy) Spent his entire career (20 years) with AC Milan Played alongside Maldini in central defence and that was an awesome partnership. Baresi was something special and was amazing to watch. He will be missed by everyone lucky to have watched him play.

UEFA will BOYCOTT the World Cup if FIFA's plans to sell stakes are approved🤯 Give us your reaction!
It would apply to men's and women's tournaments, as well as the Club World Cup...
kyle.dimond65d ago
Love hearing this and it’s wild it took so much absolute nonsense and ludicrous behaviour for it to get to this point.
billy.meyers66d ago
About time. Couldn’t believe how much Giant Infant-imo got away with at the World Cup. Was worried the football community was going to just sit back and watch him steal the sport. UEFA are no saints themselves but that statement was emphatic 👏🏻
matthew.johns66d ago
This is great! The corruption is so clear to see and it’s about time someone stands up to Infantino!

Zinedine Zidane is confirmed as the new French national team coach! But who will have a bigger impact: Jurgen Klopp at Germany or Zidane at France and why?
david.comerford67d ago
Klopp, because he'll change the culture and not just the tactics
ahambly2368d ago
Definitely Klopp for impact - but what is it with all these top managers taking national team roles??
chillout68d ago
This is either a master stroke, or will blow up quickly. Having said that, Zidane coped well at Madrid when many others failed. Maybe this will have prepared him for the political challenges that will come his way as a result of taking on this job. I’d be a liar, however, to want him to be successful at England’s expense.

The World Cup wasn’t short of controversy… what lessons need to be learnt ahead of 2030? 🤔
dantowen8195168d ago
There cannot be such collusion between the head of fifa and the president of the host nation - it just makes FIFA look so weak
aaditya.krishnamurthy71d ago
On field I’ll go with the Balogun red and Messi not getting one for a similar challenge - partly for being blatant no calls and partly for the narratives it helped generate Off-field? Is there an option to say everything Trump got involved with?
will.butcher71d ago
4/5 of those are disasters and if in any other tournament, a single one would be a talking point (excuse the pun) for months and years to come. Worst World Cup so far

Our thoughts go out to Kevin Keegan’s family - a true character, great player and motivational Manager - and a pioneer playing abroad (in Germany in the 1970s). RIP, Kev - shame our boys couldn’t have sent you off with a World Cup win - somehow that would have been fitting.

After seeing Spain win the World Cup, what's your biggest takeaway from this year's tournament? 🤔
quadriolori72d ago
Some countries in both North and South America complained a lot about irrational behaviour of Argentina but bcus of the fact that they're blinded to Messi stupidity nobody cares. Now that they've exhibited their immortality to the world on a bigger stage I think we're all agreed to that
♥ 1
chiggins50575d ago
It was most embarrassing especially when my 8yr old granddaughter said it was awfully behavior and they're not allowed to behave so childishly. Out of the mouth of children! Well done Argentina you even stopped Messi upping his goal count. What a shame. Another 8yr old comment was all the holding in the Goal area on corner kicks again they would be dropped.

Spain's team was STACKED with superstars the last time they played Argentina... how many of their current XI make it into this team?
kyle.dimond76d ago
Would take Ruiz/Olmo over Koke, Rodri over Thiago, Williams over Asensio, Yamal over Isco. Think Oyarzabal, given how reliable he is for Spain, is a conversation too.
markmarston77d ago
Yamal gets in… Rodri for Thiago… after that it’s debatable. I really like Pedri but Iniesta is Iniesta!!
jameslloyd14.jl80d ago
It would be easy to say De Gea and Costa walk in, but for the way THIS Spain team plays, I wouldn’t change much. Obviously Iniesta and Ramos get in though
Right then! As the World Cup draws to a close… I want to hear your favourite moment of the tournament 👀put aside your teams bias! For me, I’ll always remember the look on Cabral’s face when he scored that wondergoal for Cape Verde vs Argentina https://youtu.be/H_liZlLyRIM?is=WaOpDGiQMXsWdCtn

Lionel Messi & Lamine Yamal are the stars of their nations but aside from them, who could be a matchwinner in the World Cup final and why?
peter.lynch77d ago
Lautaro Martinez let’s goooo!
freddie80d ago
Mikel Merino…

kyle.dimond80d ago
Spain play so well as a unit but I think Rodri has been the star. He wasn’t bad for City in the season just gone but it feels like he put on that Spain shirt and rewound the clock to pre-injury. Cheat code of a player
Even though it was a loss, England clearly have a golden generation of complementary talent with a smart manager. This is another heartbreak in their journey, but I think they're gonna be beasts in 2030 and 2034 as well.
david.comerford80d ago
I sort of wonder if 2022 and 2024 were their best chances, even if they won't have a big drop off
george.patten81d ago
Would agree if Kane wasn’t going to be 36. Very concerning we don’t have a young striker coming through
The defending world champions will face the reigning European champions in the World Cup final. Who will win and why?
kyle.dimond80d ago
Spain. Argentina have pulled off some crazy comebacks to get here but Spain are like the total opposite. So solid
eoin80d ago
Spain. But not by much. Two extremely well-drilled teams, Spain will have to show their teeth
dale.odonnell81d ago
I have been confident about Spain winning the World Cup since their win over France. I don’t think Argentina or England match them, and on the basis of the semi-finals, Spain will wipe the floor in the final. Should be straightforward.
🇪🇸🇫🇷 Kylian Mbappe or Lamine Yamal: Who would you rather have on your team and WHY?
kyle.dimond81d ago
Based on the tournaments they’ve had, I’d pick Mbappe but I think it depends on the scenario. Mbappe too impactful to not pick though
markmarston81d ago
Yamal… he’s the best player in the world. Don’t let recency bias cloud your judgement. He’s been playing at 50% fitness this tournament. He can score goals out of nothing like Mbappe but where he excels is his playmaking abilities.
harveyleonard9981d ago
Hard not to pick Mbappe after his tournament, but Yamal really does show up when it matters
[DELETED] Here are some interesting stats that augur well for England tonight:
freddie82d ago
All second half goals, Jude and a Kane brace ;)
freddie82d ago
Am I crazy in thinking we win this 3-0 comfortably. Don’t think they are all that!
charlesjones82d ago
It’ll come down to a moment or just who turns up. The closer we get the more confident I am that England can win. But you just can’t call it.
France are out ❌! What do you think went wrong for the World Cup favourites vs Spain?
kyle.dimond81d ago
Spain just didn’t let them play. Killed their momentum at every possible moment. Midfield was outclassed, that was the biggest gap for me. No one even close to Rodri, Ruiz and Olmo. Not to mention Pedri coming off the bench
dantowen8195181d ago
Spain just bullied them. Spain looked like a team who know precisely how to win these sorts of games. France I think were a bit overawed and taken by surprise
amirmir82d ago
PSG's Lucas Digne had a rather poor game.
Who would England fans rather play in the final then if you had the choice? Fascinating semi final line up!
dantowen8195181d ago
France. France give you a chance, whereas Spain we’d be lucky to have 5 shots on target
Right then folks… what is your earliest World Cup memory? Mine is probably Lampard’s ‘goal’ vs Germany in 2010. Still can’t believe it wasn’t given 🫣
