France are out ❌! What do you think went wrong for the World Cup favourites vs Spain?

Spain just didn’t let them play. Killed their momentum at every possible moment. Midfield was outclassed, that was the biggest gap for me. No one even close to Rodri, Ruiz and Olmo. Not to mention Pedri coming off the bench

Spain just bullied them. Spain looked like a team who know precisely how to win these sorts of games. France I think were a bit overawed and taken by surprise

PSG's Lucas Digne had a rather poor game.

I think this was less about France's shortcomings and more about Spain rising to the occasion. They'd been improving before finally properly locking in vs France. Incredible team performance 🔥

Spain played to their strengthens. France weren’t at their best and got what they deserved.

Spain’s defensive abilities completely thwarted France. Rather than focusing on one player, they shut down all supply lines to the front four and didn’t give them a moment’s peace. They’re extremely well-organised. Yamal aside, there were no glamour players in the team but they function well. Fabian Ruiz is so important to them

Spain were really good and are so solid defensively, but France literally didn’t show up! MBAPPE WHO?

Spain are so good defensively!

1 goal conceded all tournament is crazy

In fairness, I think Spain were just too good defensively, France had no answers in attack !

That is the Porro we need for Spurs next season 🔥

People underestimated how good this Spanish side is, especially defensively. Pau Cubarsi is a shoe-in for the best young player of the tournament award
