After seeing Spain win the World Cup, what's your biggest takeaway from this year's tournament? 🤔

quadriolori2mo ago

Some countries in both North and South America complained a lot about irrational behaviour of Argentina but bcus of the fact that they're blinded to Messi stupidity nobody cares. Now that they've exhibited their immortality to the world on a bigger stage I think we're all agreed to that

chiggins5052mo ago

It was most embarrassing especially when my 8yr old granddaughter said it was awfully behavior and they're not allowed to behave so childishly. Out of the mouth of children! Well done Argentina you even stopped Messi upping his goal count. What a shame. Another 8yr old comment was all the holding in the Goal area on corner kicks again they would be dropped.

james.brooke2mo ago

Messi was the worst of the lot with his antics trying to get Cucurella off! No choir boy

brook0102mo ago

She’s not wrong on their behaviour bless her! I get the players being passionate but it went way too far, they’re supposed to be adults and role models 🫠

michaelbrown.ifa2mo ago

That the cheats Argentina got there come ippancevsnd FIFA didn’t get the a champions they wanted. The diabolical VAR from FIFA makes the prem VAR exceptional when it isn’t

davenport8692mo ago

Well done Spain. Thank god it wasn't Argentina, they were a disgrace at full time and against England. I'm still angry about the subs we made. Winning 1-0 with 20 mins to go we could have played the same way as the France game and made a final. I was screaming at the telly NO!!!, don't take Gordon off bring on another speedster to get up the pitch 🫣

Enjoyed the world cup and at 80 years I hope it's not my last , but it was obvious Argentina were playing for a penalty shoot out . President Trump was a disgrace to fair play , and should stick to world affairs

kyle.dimond2mo ago

Messi’s remarkable performances overshadowed by the squad’s actions and some refereeing decisions. Felt like a lot of people flipped from celebrating Messi to really rooting against Argentina through the tournament

amirmir2mo ago

That America should be banned from hosting a World Cup.

kmm.mace2mo ago

Also, VAR worked better too. Just shows how incompetent the Prem League Refs & VARs are. ( Well incompetent or corrupt, whichever way you lean!)

kmm.mace2mo ago

With 1 or 2 exceptions, I thought that the refereeing was good & far better than the very poor standard in the Prem. Good to see most Refs not, in the main, being duped by the divving & letting play continue when players ' fell over!' How quickly those players ' recovered' when the play carried on was quite miraculous. Also

Spain’s football system is unrivalled, they never fall away for long because regardless of talent, every kid in that country plays the same way from birth. England needs to learn from that we rely on stars, once they retire we are back to square one. Young players are coached for the PL and it’s to the detriment of the national team.

Main takeaway for me is that the best team is not necessarily the team with with the best players, but the team with the best balance. Spain honestly embarrassed France and Argentina

callum_boyle2mo ago

One bad result doesn’t define how a side will do. Spain drew their first game 0-0 against Cape Verde yet went on to thoroughly deserve the trophy. Patience and trust

eoin2mo ago

Same happened in 2022 with Saudi arabia

james.brooke2mo ago

Maybe that Yamal is not as good as we’re constantly told he is. Looked like a good cog in a brilliant Spain team but never looked like a superstar. Suppose he’s only 19

peter.lynch2mo ago

Don’t agree with this! He’s a massive talent and yeah worth remembering his age, also great to watch in full slow

callum_boyle2mo ago

He looked tired I think. Believe he was carrying an injury in the build up to the tournament as well so maybe that had an effect. A lot of pressure on him but credit to his teammates for helping him through it. Lived quite the life at 19 with a Euros and World Cup 😅

peter.lynch2mo ago

Messi is the 🐐

eoin2mo ago

This ☝️☝️☝️

jamie.brown822mo ago

That Pau Cubarsi is the best CB in the world…

johnverrall112mo ago

That 48 teams was actually really good and I’m excited for 64 teams at the next World Cup

dancoombs2mo ago

England blew it. Should have been in the Final

markmarston2mo ago

Too many cooks spoil the broth. They have a good balance. Not many stars really… just a good team. There are better squads on paper but they have the right synergy. Everyone knows their place.

matthew.johns2mo ago

Completely agree with this - Spain just got better and better as the tournament went on!

jamesshearman232mo ago

The best team won. Football has never been about who has the most stars. Spain play like a club team more than anyone else.

allisonjbeaumont2mo ago

Argentina showcasing the Most Unsportmanlike Behaviour Cup throughout the tournament

gorriejonathan2mo ago

Big name appontments who do well in the club game haven’t worked out, proving just how different international football is - Tuchel, Ancelotti, Pochettino etc.

jackgallagher2mo ago

Biggest takeaway for me is the performance of the top players. They all showed up, which is what we hoped for
