Infantino needs to fall on his sword now - he has lost all credibility. If he had a shred of decency about him, he would do the right thing and resign. But this is FIFA, and FIFA bosses rarely go quietly. Infantino has now made FIFA a laughing stock - he surely is dead man walking ?

I think this is the final nail in the coffin for him. He'll be gone very soon and replaced by a uefa choice

dancoombs2mo ago

I am quite confident Infantino will be gone before the next World Cup. As for who replaces him, FIFA’s track record doesn’t inspire me with confidence

jonathan.gorrie2mo ago

Hard to have any confident anything will change even if he were to leave

gramorris2mo ago

Despots don’t fall on their sword. FIFA needs a proper governance structure forced on it, likely by government. But, it’s a Swiss organisation for a reason. The national associations could get their money if FIFA was run properly.

chillout2mo ago

FIFA needs to be disbanded.

james.brooke2mo ago

He’s a clown but outside of the World Cup does anyone really give a toss what FIFA are doing and who runs them? Makes zero difference to the majority of football fans

chillout2mo ago

I just don’t think we need all the noise this guy brings. He should go - or be dumped asap. Personally, I think it’s also time to replace FIFA as the top football regulator. It’s just proved time after time that it is not fit for purpose.

dantowen819512mo ago

At least Blatter tried to hide his corruption 😂FIFA are so brazen with it now I genuinely believe Infantino is shocked that people have stood up to him

dale.odonnell2mo ago

Would never justify Blatter’s corruption, but Infantino is definitely worse as far as I’m concerned. Complete sell-out.

dantowen819512mo ago

My concern is do we end up with someone even worse

dale.odonnell2mo ago

Yes, time to go. UEFA’s statement was strongly worded: “The current FIFA leadership has not only lost UEFA’s confidence but also that of many other members of the football family.”

I honestly can’t see how he doesn’t resign. It would be pure arrogance to think he can survive a worldwide revolt of footballing federations against a plan that he conceived on his own. A position has never been more untenable.

pranav.shahaney2mo ago

Absolute joker of a president. Makes Sepp Blatter look like a saint. UEFA are far from perfect but it’s good to see unity among their member nations and they can and will get Infantino kicked out of office

At least he can do less damage at the UN - no one takes that organisation seriously any more.

leeclarke05082mo ago

Yeah he's got to go. Ridiculous he hasn't already. Give it Wenger get some integrity back

james.brooke2mo ago

Wenger has gone a bit rogue since joining the suits, wouldn’t be convinced he’d be all that much better

chillout2mo ago

A younger Wenger would have been a good shout, but he probably hasn’t got it in him now - he is 76.

george.patten2mo ago

He’s got to go. No way he stays on now. Such a stupid move from him and I’m delighted it’s blown up in his face

jameslloyd14.jl2mo ago

If this were almost any other organisation you’d say his position is untenable. But like you say… it’s fifa

billy.meyers2mo ago

I can’t believe he’s still in the job. Honestly. How did he get there in the first place?! Can’t even kick a ball properly 😂 There’s absolutely no coming back from this. Hopefully a proper football person replaces him ASAP

jonny2mo ago

He has to but he won’t, he’s too far in he needs to go down with his ship. Don’t let him reclaim some favour by stepping down, oust him from football forever! Crazy just last week there was talk of him getting a job in the UN

lee.connor2mo ago

He has somehow made Sepp Blatter look like the most competent and down the line leader ever. Infantino is a complete joke and needs to be nowhere near the game. There’ll be a documentary in years to come about unheard levels of corruption, in my opinion anyway.

chillout2mo ago

kyle.archer2mo ago

It may seem impossible for Infantino to come back from his World Cup stake sell-off plan collapsing after creating such division, but he will not go down without a fight

josh.barker2mo ago

He’ll go but we’ll just end up stuck with another money-hungry idiot who tires to milk the game for all it’s worth

chillout2mo ago

jordan.harris2mo ago

He will go, but I have no faith in whoever comes next

brogan2mo ago

Absolutely he does. But we’ve all seen what kind of egotistical individual he is and no doubt he will cling on until the very last minute hoping for his mate Donald to help him

chillout2mo ago

There must be something in the water at FIFA HQ - they all seem to turn into out of touch autocrats.
