I'm sitting on the fence. We weren't a mess against Sunderland. We were set up solidly and didn't concede many chances. But our intensity was embarrassing, as was our attempts to score ourselves.

Not for me. It was obviously a heavy challenge, but the kind you need in a derby - exactly what Newcastle didn't do! Obviously gutting for Burn, as he is such an important player for us.

Eddie is an excellent boss but he is not an elite boss. Some of his recent team selections. and substitutions have been very questionable. Eddie may well have peaked at NUFC but deserves the chance to carry on. Depends on how ambitious the Saudis really are though

Regrettably yes it's down to the players to step up and to prove they are worth there huge wages Sunderlands game showed not a Trot of that I think Eddie Howe has done what he can at the club he can only guide and if the players don't listen what more can the guy do

It was a poor response, we lacked passion commitment and enthusiasm Gordon was hardly there Elanga was a no show waltermeade was isolated far to often and we didn't press enough we didn't press enough forward

Newcastle made two disastrous signings, Elanga and Ramsey, this after selling Anderson to Nottingham Forest for a pittance. If Howe continues to make selection and substitution mistakes I can see him going out of the door.

Maybe not, but the decision to start Elanga was crazy. He's been a terrible signing, and to start him away in the derby was really odd by Howe. Barnes or Murphy should have started.

Its not has important losing a game if you know your team has given 100% and fought tooth and nail. But at the moment those games are getting to be far and few between. Need to sign some good quality players regardless of cost. Not rely on cheap, young untried players.yet

Woltemade was poor but I think that was more to do with how isolated he was. Elanga, on the other hand, was abysmal! What was Howe thinking??

Howe has always been frightened to make mistakes, he is getting worse. If Kane was bought Howe would put him on the bench for the first two games saying he was not fit enough for Premier League football!

Waste of money, he has no attributes , slow, poor first touch, slow, weak, never wins an arial duel, never makes runs into the box.. how Newcastle wasted all that money in the summer, they need to sort out their scouting system
