Made up Kobbie reminds me of Modric who we were linked with, well we have our own in Kobbie who deserves his contract but I feel he should be on more money.
jonny153d ago
Where was Modric at 21! We have a future Ballon d'Or winner in midfield!

Modric is such an interesting comparison I never thought about! I always thought of him more as a Frenkie de Jong but Modric makes perfect sense too

If Elliot Anderson is £125m... What is Kobbie Mainoo's market value right now?
Not that he's going anywhere...🔒

The same as ...

Kobbie Mainoo is going to be a beast for United
williammcphee37694d ago
Mainoo is an exceptional player, Anderson is a basic midfield that should stop going about pointing, numerous mistakes every game but no one seems to want to speak about. Mainoo could be a player of the year for a long time to come Anderson will never be. A silly amount paid for what,

Kobbie Mainoo's new contract is OFFICIAL - let's hear your instant reaction!!!
We nearly lost him...!

Brilliant news
paulashrig16153d ago
First heard his name& started to watch Under18's leading up to winning 2021-22 YouthCup. Aged17, he was so different & mature in his play. Also liked the look of Dan Gore& Reece Bennett in those days. Not on Kobbie's route upwards, but I hope they're enjoying their careers @ Rotherham & ?Fleetwood

Kobbie will be one of the best midfielders united will enjoy watching in years to come.

You are building Man Utd's midfield for 26/27: Is Kobbie Mainoo a first choice starter?
Or are you signing two NEW starting midfielders?
yasou7124d ago
Everyone hammers Amorim for not playing Kobbie, but conveniently forget that he was injured for quite a while, and when he returned, understandably as a sub, his performances were dire. On the returning form shown, he was never going to replace either Casemiro or Bruno in Amorim's system!
geldroper130d ago
Mainoo will only get better. We have to think long term who is going to replace Bruno.
robdunning41153d ago
Had his best performance for ages against Liverpool, he rput himself about and made some great tackles topping it all with the winner. He seems to be slowly getting better but he doesn't need the pressure from people as this could hinder him. Just hope he keeps playing and gets better

He's slumped recently eh how about a year signs of sancho all hype
paulashrig16158d ago
Hahaha! Yours has to be No1 ironic thought of the day

Nothing like Sancho better player than him

dancoombs198d ago
I disagree - Sancho and Mainoo are very different Mainoo has a strong attitude for one. Sancho is a quitter who doesn’t care about his career

We cant feel sorry for mainoo if he isn't good enough he has no pace at his age he should be at peak,he's not a cdm hes not a box to box and he's not a attacking midfielder his work rate isn't good enough
robdunning41153d ago
His confidence has been smashed by Amorim, true hes not the greatest midfielder but he is getting better with each game as his performances are showing, once he realises his potential he might be one of the best but he needs nurturing not pushing as we dont want success to go to his head like Sancho and lingard
readjulia96187d ago
His work rate is really good in midfield getting the ball back for England he is a really good player
♥ 2
zeke.wolf42196d ago
Amorim is that you? Anyone that actually watches matches, or even looks at stats, can see that literally none of what you said is true. He covers one of the most ground of anyone every match. He puts in one of the most defensive actions, wins duals, creates chances, opens play and Bruno and Casemiro trust him with the ball. But what do they know eh?

Reports say around £120k

What is YOUR reaction to Kobbie Mainoo's recall for England?
What is Ruben Amorim thinking right now?!
robdunning41153d ago
Not at the moment, he needs to develope himself at UTD and not be given false hope that hes already a great already. Sometimes that England involvement can ruin a young player
auldskoolgg186d ago
Mainoo was terrible and got exposed for the goal, no interest in running back.
crossleydo187d ago
Unfortunately Japan's goal exposed Kobbie's main weakness. When England lost the ball he doesn't sprint back. If he had he would have been there to intercept the final pass.
To my opinion Kobbie is an extra ordinary young talent who can top the best creativity in the heart of United midfield in the future at Carrington, because he is still very young in terms of his age and he has proven throughout the United academy and a proven youngest ever Epl player with no doubts. He deserves to be a regular starter in the Man United shirt
dancoombs198d ago
Michael Carrick definitely agrees with you, which is a great sign 💯

How worried are you about Kobbie Mainoo not yet signing a new contract?
paulashrig16191d ago
Before Leeds game is the perfect time to sign the deal

I'm not worried a deal is deal and under Michael Carrick I know he will sign ☢️

The greatest comparison Kobbie Mainoo will ever receive
THIS is a player Manchester United must build around!
pcleverdon186d ago
Best comparison ! Don't be so stupid. Best Maradona Messi Ronaldo Yeah ! Give Kobbie a chance to develop !
robdunning41212d ago
He wouldn't be as good as Besties laces so should never get anywhere near a comparison

Is Ruben Amorim not playing Kobbie Mainoo the worst decision you can remember from a recent Man Utd manager?
robdunning41212d ago
He needs a massive improvement to prove Amorim wrong, strength and application is needed from him as he doest commit to tackles
rmanoj8788226d ago
Matches during his tenure were boring to watch. Academy players including Kobbie had no value. Manu must claim back the indemnity paid to him for wrongly doing his job!!!
♥ 1
odhynicho68226d ago
Amorim was a disgrace to say the least. He was completely poor in player management. Look at the number of players he crossed paths with. And more so, he hated home grown and young players! A shameless coach.!
♥ 2
He's a decent kid in his midfield role for United and deserves a starting role

Should Kobbie Mainoo be in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup?
After recent form, will Thomas Tuchel be convinced?
nebomensah141d ago
Of course he should be included, with this kind of performance during the later part of season!!!
♥ 1
nigelsmiff4199d ago
Maybe I've been watching different games. Up to now I've not really seen Mainoo do anything other than give the ball away. When he's not under pressure he can successfully pass the ball back to whoever is behind him, but way too many of his attacking passes find the opposition. I'm still waiting (and praying) to see the lad that scored in the FA Cup final.
paulashrig16242d ago
Yes ,if he'd been in all season, playing the way he is these 3 games, there wouldn't be a doubt. GRRR! to Amorin
♥ 1

Should Kobbie Mainoo be an automatic starter under Michael Carrick now?
Kobbie Mainoo only needed 90 minutes to prove Ruben Amorim wrong!
tf232086212d ago
Mainoo is playing some great stuff recently but he wasn’t himself against Newcastle. He seemed to be flat footed in this game and allowed Tonali control things from the middle. I hope he gets back to his best in remaining games.
canonmark121243d ago
Of course as Casemiro will leave MU at the end of the season.
♥ 1
zeke.wolf42249d ago
Not even a question. Everything Amorim said about him was at best wrong and worst a lie because he couldn't understand him. He runs, he sprints more than fast enough, he's strong enough to deal with physical pressure, he is the calmest player on the ball I've seen since Xavi, and his linking with Bruno and the whole team is vital.
♥ 2

What are your expectations for Kobbie Mainoo now Ruben Amorim has been fired?
canonmark121243d ago
MU must keep him as long as possible.
♥ 1
health2nhs249d ago
It’s a great story and we should be reviewing his contract - I am sure his camp are wary around who the new manager will be next season though- not so straight forward after all
♥ 1
mgasparovsky249d ago
Expect him to become best midfielder in the world
♥ 1
Saying he wants to leave on loan because of lack of game time is why he's not playing. Amorin has said if players prove in training they deserve to play they will. Look at Malacia as an example. Clearly believes his own hype yet has continued to disappoint in the minutes he's had
davidyawop243d ago
Yeah, so those who proved on training ground what did they do during the actual match? Nothing. Because they burning their energy wanting to be on the pitch on match day. I believe Amorin took a personal issues with player he just dont get on with and that was his downfall.
Kobbie is a young player with POTENTIAL. But hasn't proven to Amorim that he's able to control the MF through OFF THE BALL running and physicality. People need to chill out and so does Kobbie. He's still young, the team is improving since Amorim took over. Trust the process
elwynmanungo9988240d ago
Do you still feel Amorin was right in not playing Kobbie?
Because manager not like him.Sell him, then sack manager.. I pay for ticket myself back to portugal.Get the f*** out of england
ericisgod66287d ago
Its his first full season in charge, he has a squad now being tested by ACON and a few key injuries. 2 decent buys in january will help but i still feel Amorim experiment hasnt quite worked he is 5 years off being where he is now
ericisgod66287d ago
Amorim is a great manager.......in Portugal. i think he is a few years short of stepping up to a more competitive league at a club struggling to get a grip both on and off the pitch. on the other hand uniteds performances are a vast improvement on the last 2 seasons
♥ 1
robdunning41287d ago
Listen, it's not the manager, the 2 goals conceded against villa were bad mistakes but from a player in form. The team has been changed and still not getting the results under last 6 managers so the finger points at the players for not performing. We've got players who don't gel
♥ 1

What do you think of Kobbie Mainoo's brother wearing a 'Free Kobbie Mainoo' t-shirt at Old Trafford?
This is NOT going to help Kobbie Mainoo!
canonmark121243d ago
He's frustrated with Amorim as well as the management for believing Amorim in not selecting Mainoo to play in the first team. Stupid to remain loyal for their mistrust on his brother.
ericisgod66287d ago
I think its fine. We wear Glazers Out and Green and Gold in protest so why cant Mainoo's brother wear a symbol of protest at what he sees as the clubs mistreatment of his Bro.
mgasparovsky289d ago
I agree with him completely. Amorim is ignorant evil. Totally against club history and philosophy. Free United from jerk Amorim
♥ 1
Maino plays more like Fernandez...so in the situation the got to fight for position with him.....ugarte lost his to casemiro same to maino
dancoombs296d ago
Problem of our own making by missing out on European football. If we were playing twice a week, there would be plenty of opportunity for Mainoo
Kobbie mainoo plays football similar to world cup footballer Pele Pele whoever taught kobbie to play did a real good job that coach brought a different type of football playing to the table
madukam524290d ago
Kobbie mainoo play like Clarence Seedof of Dutch Ac Milan legend

Ruben Amorim admitted coaches can be wrong about a player when discussing Kobbie Mainoo
Could Mainoo follow Vitinha and become a 'best in the world' calibre star if he gets a transfer?
jenebidaniel287d ago
Robbie is a wonderful player , it's the manager who is wrong and should be replaced by someone like Unai Emery who can help young players, Amorim is a failure and man United will go no where with him.
blondiemancho287d ago
I'm happy if Ruben is out... If Coach thinking that he only can work and apply his tactics based on his players requirement... than he is really not a good coach. Good coach known how to use the current players, make a good command, control room players, make a strict rule
brightmatiashe287d ago
Simple solution to the problem R Amron should rather leave. Problem solved
The way Amorim treats Mainoo is one of the strangest things about his time at Old Trafford. It just doesn't make sense.
adnan.riaz297d ago
It's because he doesn't fit his system. It's that simple. 🤷♂️
♥ 1
dancoombs297d ago
Yes, because it is so extreme. You could understand a little if he had started 5 out of 15 games this season and got a run. Instead he has started 0

Rio Ferdinand says Kobbie Mainoo HAS to leave United
Is Rio right to be honest, or should he be keeping quiet about this?
brownbruins291d ago
Portuguese manager has to go back to f****** portugal. He has no place in england especially looking after a big club like man united

dantowen8195292d ago
I know what he means. I keep thinking Kobbie could just wait and outlast Ruben, but then there's no suggestion INEOS are losing patience

adnan.riaz297d ago
Rio the reactionary. 🫡🤣

I Amorim is out of his depth at Man U and his stubbornness to change the system is destroying our club and world class players. Keep Mainoo and let Amorim go.
vatsal299d ago
Amorim needs success to silence the noise over Mainoo. You can't keep him out and NOT win consistently!
♥ 1
I watched Kobbie last night at WWhe appears sluggish devoid of confidence...such a shame
dancoombs300d ago
It is worrying what the past few months will have done for his development
Amorin has been overrated, How does he honestly give an explicit explanation, how all the players he's shipped across doing well..... Amorin needs reminding, Manchester is far from where supporters and managers expect.... It's far, he needs to revisit the archives........
No comments yet. Be the first.
Second division manager against one great young player mainoo stay no questions roy keane heart on sleeve football manager give him a chance
dancoombs296d ago
Keane as manger would be box office, no idea if it would be a success though…

Only fools don't change their mind, I am wondering why a brilliant mind like Amorim is so rigid. He is stuck on a formula that has no answers in the EPL, worse how do you treat Mainoo like that. Anytime , Mainoo over Amorim.
technostancyinc300d ago
Amorin not really flexible.... His strategy never works at man U..... We have brilliant players, which he can't use, wants to find an excuse, blaming players... Rashford, MC Tominay, Erasmus, jus to name a few they playing top quality..... Is Amorin still a top coach based o
