Following Sean Strickland's win over Khamzat Chimaev, how would you plan the next steps at middleweight?
bluther99713d ago
Since they (sean&khamzat) fixed that fight.. proof will be next fight Khamzat will rag doll Sean. The exact same way he did DDP.

I think the man does not get the rematch. Maybe be in couple of fights. By then there might be a different champ.. lol

Chimaev wasn't in the fight. He's not as good as everyone thinks he. Strickland dominated that fight with a simple jab. Dana don't make the fight decisions. A rematch is pointless. Give someone a chance that deserves it. Imavov. Move Chimaev up as he can't make weight anyway if he wants a rematch he needs to earn it.

How disappointing was Khamzat Chimaev's reign as UFC middleweight champion? 😳
dogghaus7247d ago
Chimaev needs to just move up. They have ZERO reason to give him a rematch. A) He never once defended the belt. B) He waited 268 days to defend the belt. C) He said before his fight with Strickland that he was going to vacate and move up to 205. So why give him a rematch? If he wins he will just vacate and move up.
richknife10069d ago
I dont consider it disappointing since he lost by split decision
oldnhbfreak132d ago
It was disappointing because he was so dominant in the fights before. He has the skill in the octagon but lacks the right mindset/coaches/health to do his job. I think that if he gets a rematch and gets that right Strickland is getting what DDP and Whittaker got.

Is Khamzat Chimaev struggling to live up to his promise in the UFC? 🤔
'Borz' failed to become welterweight champion and lost in his first middleweight title defense after difficulty making weight...
barnstormlance147d ago
Little premature is day. George lost to Matt Serra and overcame. Sean looked like a flash in the pan too. Chamaev has plenty of time to succeed again.

Definitely not. Just a terrible weight cut after bulking up loads for a LHW fight. I am actually think if these two were to rematch Khamzat would win.
dr.cheyno147d ago
Super close fight. Could've gone either way. But he has to sort out his weight. Going into a title fight and having to cut 37 pounds just makes him unable to wrestle for the amount he needs to.

After producing two of the greatest upsets in UFC history, is it time to give Sean Strickland his flowers? 👑

SYes I believe Sean Strickland is one of the most remarkable fighters in the UFC, of all time. The man had a very difficult upbringing, he has a bunch of rough edges, but he is the real deal, a real fighter who is honest and fair and doesn't duck anyone to keep that belt. Imavov deserves the shot and Strickland knows it. My respects to Strickland.

There have been exactly 2 fighters who have held the undisputed UFC Middleweight Championship two separate times Sean Strickland & Israel Adesanya which is why Izzy is one of Sean's greatest wins.

Yes

Name Sean Strickland's next opponent. ⬇️
esmagicman127d ago
Imavov seems like the most deserving right now. Kamaru Usman would be my wildcard choice. He beat Strickland once long ago and their rematch would be interesting.

Rematch

Chimaev didn't even make weight, won't be no rematch. Dude was all hype, fighting people that were past their prime.

How does Joshua Van vs. Alexandre Pantoja 2 play out? 🤔
The flyweight champion legitimized his reign by beating Tatsuro Taira at UFC 328.
brawnyshady147d ago
Van by KO round 5
pvadodaria147d ago
Pantoja by R3 sub.
kyle.dimond147d ago
Still lean towards Pantoja but I'm not as convinced as I was before watching Van take Taira out.

CHANGE MY MIND: Sean Brady will win a UFC title before his career is done. 💯
dr.cheyno144d ago
Nope. Unless he is gifted with a good match up at some stage.
jamie.theodosi147d ago
Nah I don’t think he will. He was talking about moving down to lightweight not long ago, dominating Buckley on the ground isn’t massive impressive considering Buckley’s lack of IQ
paulgreene67147d ago
He won't!
Do you believe Khamzat Chimaev made weight for UFC 328?
Sean Strickland has accused Khamzat Chimaev of 'cheating' by failing to legitimately make 185lb on Friday morning
pvadodaria145d ago
I don't know about this one.
jordan.ellis148d ago
What don't they just use digital scales and avoid any speculation?
dmbbama148d ago
Strickland in rd 4 maybe even rd 3

Have you changed your pick after seeing Khamzat Chimaev on the scale?⚖️
Daniel Cormier claimed Khamzat Chimaev looked 'miserable' and 'skinny' after successfully weighing in for UFC 328😬
johnporterjordan148d ago
We can watch this card to see who the best weight cutter is and the NBA playoffs will reveal the best foul baiter/flopper. How lucky we are, as spectators!
harvey.leonard148d ago
Nah, he's looked bad on the scale before and still destroyed people on fight night.
kyle.dimond149d ago
Same pick but it does make it even more interesting if Sean is able to make it through the first couple rounds. I'm just not convinced that he can
Hopefully Poatan will show him why he should stay at MW and rearrange his ugly head

Besides the main event, which UFC 328 fight are you most looking forward to? 🤔
pvadodaria149d ago
Van vs. Taira
henryosorio557150d ago
Brady vs. Buckley, i want to see brady strangle him
jamie.theodosi152d ago
Excited about Gautier as a prospect but the matchup is meh. Alvarez vs Amosov should be great

Who leaves UFC 328 with the flyweight title? 🏆
Explain your Joshua Van vs. Tatsuro Taira prediction in the comments. ⬇️
leondonlon83148d ago
Van on points
henryosorio557150d ago
Van by TKO in the 3rd
harvey.leonard152d ago
Taira. The more skilled and technically gifted fighter. Always favor backing that over a tough brawler like Van

If Khamzat Chimaev wins at UFC 328, what would you like to see him do next?
'Borz' has consistently spoken about wanting to move up to 205 pounds
fatimatrading911148d ago
InshaAllah khamzat will win again and become the world champion
henryosorio557150d ago
DEFEND THAT BELT! First and foremost.

IDK but I wish these dudes would clean out the division first. I get the weight cut stuff but if it’s that bad. Then they shouldn’t be fighting in that division or get a couple new weight divisions above welterweight.

If Sean Strickland is able to stop Khamzat Chimaev's dominant wrestling, how much of a chance do you give him?🤔
Sean Strickland is believed to have the striking advantage over Khamzat Chimaev.
axethetacs149d ago
Sean should use his knees more often to defend against a takedown; if he times it right, he might be able to land one on Hazmat's head. IMO the Russians seem to lose focus after a couple of good shots to the head, be it knee, elbow, or fist.
pvadodaria149d ago
If Sean makes it through the initial rush. He can win this.
henryosorio557150d ago
If he is able to stop those takedowns, its going to be a long night for the Chechen. I give him 80% chance.
Any chance Chimaev engages on the feet?
vpmkcnnd59154d ago
So Khamzat will land a nice punch and idiots will say his striking is underrated. No it isn’t. It’s just not something to train for or worry about. No one is worried about him striking
harvey.leonard178d ago
Think the Burns fight may have scared that approach out of him

I hope so, either way i dont see strickland upsetting anything.

Who wins in the main event of UFC 328 on May 9?
Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev finally get the chance to settle their bitter feud at Prudential Center, can the American beat the champ?
jeromeynwahector97149d ago
Call it what u want he puts up a big show before the fight im gonna kill him blah blah blah then proceeds to hug opponent dont make as if u gona fight yet u play huggy bear lmao
reyokss150d ago
Chimaev defnitely. No doubt whatsoever ever.Nit a chance in hell. This is a committed fighter who through Ddp around like a rag doll.Come on.im South African I know we had a great champion but Chimaev fight I realized the the levels are different.
pvadodaria150d ago
I don't care who wins, but just please don't turn this into Kape vs Mokaev 2.0.
