Pretty sure he did quite a bit of striking when he was younger before fully committing to grappling. Still think it’s a scary proposition. At that weight, people are just so well-rounded

I’m so mixed on this. I wouldn’t be against them banning it but you can argue that any strike in MMA can end a career. I feel for that reason, it has to stay.

100%, whether he can live up to that is another question because of how unpredictable the sport is. But, from a skill perspective, he’s absolutely the best. He’s been one of the best fighters outside the UFC for years and shouldn’t have ever been on Contender Series in the first place

I truly hope they prosper but Jake needs to stop doing interviews in the ring after fights(as a promoter) when hes drunk. Its very unprofessional and his vamping makes me cringe. My fear is they will spend too much money on gimmicks, trying to catch up overnight and the money well runs dry. The gimmicks are fun once a year but not every week

I am s huge MMA fan and just a fan of combat sports in general. I listen to combat sports podcasts all day at work. I say that to say I had literally no idea whatsoever this fight was taking place. He needs to work on promoting these things because if I didn't know there are guaranteed to be a shitload of more people that didn't either

Herb has made a lot of bad calls over the last few years. I would say Mark Goddard is the best and Herb has slipped to "not exceptional in any way". Yeah retirement is a good idea when this thread has enough support to be "a thing". That's a bad sign.
