Following Sean Strickland's win over Khamzat Chimaev, how would you plan the next steps at middleweight?

Since they (sean&khamzat) fixed that fight.. proof will be next fight Khamzat will rag doll Sean. The exact same way he did DDP.

I think the man does not get the rematch. Maybe be in couple of fights. By then there might be a different champ.. lol

Chimaev wasn't in the fight. He's not as good as everyone thinks he. Strickland dominated that fight with a simple jab. Dana don't make the fight decisions. A rematch is pointless. Give someone a chance that deserves it. Imavov. Move Chimaev up as he can't make weight anyway if he wants a rematch he needs to earn it.

I would tell Chimaev that if he wants a rematch he needs to beat a top ranked opponent first. Chimaev has NEVER defended the belt, and he took almost a whole year before defending it the first time. He always has some "health" issues, he has a hard time making weight, and before LOSING the title to Strickland he was planning to move to LHW. Bye Borz!

All you keep talking about Dana this and Dana that !! Dana doesn't make the fights he is not the matchmaker ! Y'all act like Dana White is the only employee of the UFC ! He doesn't do everything ! There are literally thousands of people who make the UFC turn ! Its not just 1 person ! I'm so sick and tired of reading Dana should do this or that
dogghaus724w ago
Because we all know that what Dana wants is what happens. Yah, they do have tons of employees, but if you don't think Dana can steer the ship the way he wants than it is your who are delusional.

Dude didn't even make weight anyways.

Sorry, but not only did he not defend the belt a single time successfully, but he held up the division for awhile before defending the belt and had plans to vacate the division and move up to LHW if he had won. So why would Dana give him a rematch? He wasn't a long time defending champ, he was going to leave the division, and it was pretty clear he lost.

Since when has Dana ever used "whats right" to make a fight? Wherever he sees the numbers is what fight we will get. .... Khamzat needs different conditioning. He runs out of gas. Up until Strickland his talent and heart overcame that fact several times. Fix that and he'll be the beast everyone knows he can be

Rematch needed to see if Strickland win a fake as he won off a retreating jab with minimal other offence shown. Khamzat looked a shadow of the man thatvrag dolled Du Plessis
derekbonin194w ago
Haha that's because Strickland made him look that way and Strickland had a bad shoulder
derekbonin194w ago
Haha yeah that's because Strickland made him look that way with a bad shoulder

Imavov seems to be the move to make, because I don't wanna see him fight Dricus or Khamzat immediately again.

I think Chimaev has to be given a rematch. If it's true that the UFC told him he'd be fighting at 205lbs and then switched up on him, they owe him one.
dogghaus722mo ago
Sorry, but it was Chimaev that wanted to move to LHW and although there were possible plans of him fighting at LHW, he had PLENTY of notice to make the 185 limit. Also, this just proves he needs to move on. He had every intention of leaving the division and moving up. So what if he wins? Then he vacates the title and moves up?! It makes no sense.
scotthughes9783mo ago
You really believe that? He missed like 8 lbs for the Nate Diaz fight the guy is a weight bully and needs a massive weight advantage every fight and this is what happens
jordan.ellis4mo ago
I would agree but there is not another compelling matchup at 185lbs. Strickland beat Imavov. I don't wanna see DDP-Strickland again yet either. Chimaev is the best option.
harvey.leonard4mo ago
Agreed. I don't like the idea of champions getting rematches just because. If he'd have defended his title a few times then maybe he would have earned it. Imavov has to be next.
kyle.dimond4mo ago
I can see both sides but in the context of "change my mind", it was clear to see that Chimaev wasn't himself. It's harsh on Imavov but with how close the fight was, there's an argument.
scotthughes9783mo ago
Maybe if he didn't miss weight
