Marcus Rashford has called out pundits for talking about him too much - before the season has started. What are your views on this?
dale.odonnell46d ago
Disgraceful from Carragher. He’s a pundit - not some lad sitting in a pub, and there are many players he wouldn’t talk about in such a manner. That said, Rashford needs to let his feet do the talking. Ram those comments down Carragher’s throat.

Marcus Rashford's Manchester United 2026/27 season will be _________
How many goals will Rashford score for Man Utd?
khykhytona52d ago
He will fit fast as he's been here before

geoffrey47ives52d ago
He will have to do better than he did last time he played fr us he never ran back when he lost the ball
daodumoses53d ago
He will become Man Utd's best goal scorer this season because he is faster, stronger and shaper than Benjamin Sesko.
♥ 1
Would it make sense to have a meeting with the recruitment team? I feel if we could cancel his contract without compensation, Marcus could find a new club who with a signing on fee could ease the wage burden.
zeke.wolf4256d ago
It would make zero sense in any shape to release one of the best LW in the league.
dancoombs59d ago
Cancelling contracts is difficult. United would effectively have to pay up the rest of his wages in full, so that would probably be £30m over two years. If we are paying that anyway - it’s better to keep him and at least try and get something back
♥ 2

After watching Marcus Rashford at the World Cup, do you want to see him back at Man Utd?
Marcus Rashford ended his World Cup campaign with a strong display against France...
knightinwhitesatin71d ago
Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it his wages are a problem and Roma won't want him as a,swap to lower their fee for Kone and we'd have to subsidise his wages so we're stuck with him until his contract runs out
cshermanseattle74d ago
Worried about his attitude. He think he's better than he is. Trying too hard. Look what happened at the work cup when he was replaced with Gordon. Gordon shined and looked very dangerous. Rashford looks out of control, always just off a bit. with attitude.

I don't know how Rashford is going to deal with being left on the bench at United. He will need to accept a role as a squad player. I just can't see it working

Is this a little harsh on Marcus Rashford? Do you feel the same way?
christophermalgas8155d ago
Most people who comment here are Rashford haters.Under a supportive coach,he gives his best.Special players need coaches who understand them and they usually reward the coach. One thing you cannot take away from him is that he is damn good.
rmanoj878856d ago
He will redeem himself when he does his best to knock out Barça from the Champion League when we face them.
ebenezeromotosho164d ago
He desreved what he got. Fine he has a good charity org but man u is the origin. Any river that forgets it's source runs dry. No place can a player will be loved less except in his playing field🤓🤓
♥ 1
Rashford under no circumstances should be welcomed back to United. His motivation is gone, he has lost a yard or two of pace due to his back injury, is far to predictable on the LW, not suited for a striker, has demonstrated he will down tools when he is not happy, has a poor work ethic on the pitch. All of which he is still displaying at the world cup. NO!
geldroper95d ago
are you even a Man U fan or just a complainer. Where is the prove of his unhappy. You are one of these "fans" who will be adore him when he scores a couple of games but pick on him when he is not
♥ 1
vatsal96d ago
Has he displayed poor work ethic though? If anything, his spell at Barcelona showed me that that's just his playing style Nobody else is paying his 325k wages so at this point might as well keep him as we play in four comps. Carrick can get a 15 G+A season out of him, and he'll be easier to shift next summer

From okkalibenson: I believe Rashford can do better if he come back to Man United.
Dan says: I love the positivity. It does feel like Rashford is coming back at this point so ultimately we need to get behind him.
grantfeast96d ago
If Barcelona buy him for the figure touted then sell him for £60m we will have serious egg on our face. They might change their mind now they've seen their new expensive winger in action, I mean inaction!
♥ 1
grantfeast96d ago
Rashford is a £60m player with up to 6 years left at the top THAT we OWN. Welcome him back and put the past behind us ... I have changed my stance from 2 years ago which is unlike me. He's a Utd academy lad and let's have him back working with Michael and Steve with a new slate and everyone behind him at the outset.
♥ 4
Q from Jonny: Is there a better left-wing option on the market right now for United?
Dan says: I feel like I would rather shoot for upside and target high potential. I really like Mika Godts at Ajax. But I could understand if other fans were reluctant ater the Antony debacle.
No comments yet. Be the first.
Q from Callum Boyle: When the dust settles, what do you think Marcus Rashford’s legacy will be?
Dan says: If Rashford left today, he would be remembered fondly. He has been one of the best academy graduates since the Class of 92, with more than 130 goals for the club. If he had been fortunate to come through in a different era, under Fergie, he would have won a lot more.
stephenjholmes159d ago
I don't agree. Marcus was great until he got his new contract. From then he stopped being a team player. His levels fell off a cliff. Everyone blames Ten Haag, and Amorin, but the reality is there was a common denominator in both situations. Marcus became a diva. He may have changed his attitude now. Only time will tell.
okkalibenson96d ago
Rashford is one of the player that even now man united is missing quality. After Reuben took him for loan at Aston villa, the performance of man United automatically dropped, example... their was no power to challenge the opponents, again winning mentality went down..... for me I feel we miss him a lot.
♥ 1
Q from Dan Owen: If he doesn’t stay at United, where realistically does he end up?
Dan says: Hard to say. I think we could be looking at a return to Aston Villa, who have Champions League football next season, or if they decide they want him, he would jump at the chance to sign with Bayern. I still think the Barcelona track isn't completely dead either.
stephenjholmes159d ago
Unfortunately it won't end up with him being at the receiving end in the food bank!
stephenjholmes193d ago
Newcastle, they have a slot on the left which needs filling!
barrybritton796d ago
It. Will be interesting to see what Gordon does next season at Barca, I predict that his contribution won’t better rashfords of last season
♥ 1
Q from Vatsal: What number does he wear if he returns? Each "marquee" number is taken. Which leads me to - what percentage of this "He's welcome back" talk is just posturing to keep his value up and what percentage is this actually true?
Dan says: It is an astute observation that Rashford's 10 shirt was re-assigned to Matheus Cunha last summer. It's possible he could take 11 if Joshua Zirkzee is sold, or even the currently vacant 20 in tribute to his former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It is a minor dilemma to solve. Is this posturing? We saw United do this with Jadon Sancho previously. I do believe United are exploring the market for a winger in case Rashford is sold, and I think they would remain open to offers at the right price. But crucially I think we are seeing this report about a possible return because United have already canvassed the market and are seriously worried there won't be a bidder, so are now smoothing the pathway to a return.
seanfisher97d ago
Number 11 would make a lot of sense, wears it for England too 👕
♥ 2
Q from Sean Fisher: With Rashford on reportedly £300-£350k per week, do you think him staying at Old Trafford will require a pay cut? If Rashford does return... does he start ahead of Cunha on the left?
Dan says: I can't see a pay cut being agreed to on his current contract. This expires in 2028, and I think if he is going to stay beyond that, Ineos won't be offering the same kind of wages. Does he start ahead of Cunha? I'm not convinced at all. He will also be competing with Patrick Dorgu for that spot too. I still think Rashford is the same player who left us. His World Cup performances haven't shown me anything different. So no I don't believe he should be an undisputed starter. However, with lots of fixtures next season, we need the depth.

Q from Dale O'Donnell: How do you think the majority of fans will feel if Rashford is back playing for United next season? Also, do you think he has been guilty of showing the club any disrespect over the past year? A. No doubt Rashford will need to repair his relationship with United fans.
Dan says: I felt it was disrespectful to release a statement during the 2024/25 season three weeks after a new head coach was appointed, saying that he wanted to move on. Imagine the reaction if Paul Pogba did that during his time there? He was hammered more for less. Everything that has happened since, I feel is repairable. Rashford wanted to stay at Barcelona, we knew that. He gave that move everything he has and I don't hold that against him necessarily. There's a real split on Rashford among fans that can only really be mended by positive performances if he does stay.
No comments yet. Be the first.

Q from Tom Procter: Can you see a new lease of life for Rashford at United with Michael Carrick now at the helm? Do you think he’d been keen to play under him specifically?
Dan says: Yes I believe this is the key. Rashford has worked alongside Carrick before and even played with him. Also remember that he also worked with Carrick's assistant Steve Holland, who was part of Gareth Southgate's staff with England. They know what makes Rashford tick, and they can bring some enjoyment back to his game.
stephenjholmes193d ago
IIt amazes me that a Manchester United supporter needs to be re-energized to perform for his boyhood club. All of us fans would play for nothing. To blame managers for your lack of desire and work rate whilst taking £325,000 a week is criminal. He is a prime example of a "big time Charlie". Yes he did his school meals drive, but the day job suffered.
♥ 1
Q from Freddie: Do you think Rashford has the attitude to succeed ANYWHERE, let alone Man United? Ability has never been his issue.
Dan says: I don't think attitude was the issue at Barcelona at all. He gave it everything and wanted to be there. The trouble was he was competing with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha and was never going to be a starter. In the right situation he can thrive.
kenibbo0796d ago
Rashford is regretting his time with United because he allowed himself to be influenced by the wrong people. Barcelona would rather he played for them than against them hence their reluctance to send him back but can’t afford to keep him. Bring him home, sit him down with Ratcliffe and Carrick and get him back to where he belongs. UNITED!
♥ 1
Q from Brogan Clasper: Spurs fan here - have seen a number of links with Tottenham being keen to signal we'd be open to paying his massive salary. How would you, as a United fan, feel about seeing Rashford permanently move to another PL side?
Dan says: Tottenham could be the wildcard club to pay attention to. You can rule City and Liverpool out immediately. Chelsea, I wouldn't fear, he would get lost there among their 50 other wingers. Arsenal I think would haunt us if he went there. Tottenham I could see making a play as there is clear ambition under De Zerbi. I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing Rashford playing for another English club but we have been here already with his loan at Villa, and Spurs are one of the more palatable options.
stephenjholmes193d ago
Let him go. Wherever he goes, he will see his ar*e soon enough and down tools again. It will be worth it just to get him off the wage bill.

brogan96d ago
I know there's the 'not my money' argument but £300k+ a week is seriously off putting. But if he'd drop to £250k I think we should be all over it. Looked a constant threat for England when he's been on the pitch, just lacks the end product at times
Q from Peter Lynch: What does Rashford need to do to be the player many expected him to be?
Dan says: Rashford has shown what he is capable of. He scored 30 goals in 2022/23. Nobody is telling him this wasn't good enough, and he must improve. What he has to do is show he can replicate it. In his career that was a one-off. He followed it up in 2023/24 with only eight goals - under the same manager. That's where the fan frustration has built up.
No comments yet. Be the first.
Q from Mark Marston: Do you think Rashford actually wants to be at Man United next season?
Dan says: I currently have no evidence to believe that he does, beyond simply lacking other options. Rashford has wanted out since December 2024 when he issued a statement declaring he wanted a new challenge. United facilitated that, sending him to Aston Villa and then Barcelona. Neither side met United's fairly low asking price for a permanent deal. Now he is stuck in a difficult spot. I do believe Michael Carrick would be open to bringing him back, having worked with Rashford previously when he was at United, as an assistant and a player. I feel like I at least need to hear him say, 'I want to play for Manchester United next season' to actually believe he wants to.
kilham.max97d ago
I don't believe he does. A lack of options has forced him to return to the club. Rate him so highly and hope another club comes in for him.

Here's the latest on Marcus Rashford's future via Fabrizio Romano. Could we really see him back in a Man Utd shirt?

Feel for him. Can't believe he's going to end up at that poison chalice of a club once again. Treated terribly there and should look to move away again.

I have already said this but Rashford back in Manchester amongst old friends and familiar haunts is bad for Rashford and equally bad for United.Rashfords career can only move fwd if he stays away, he knows it and United knows it. Very talented player with an addictive personality

Cannot allow Rashford too step back into old Trafford again he had his time now it's time too move on has too be sold
dale.odonnell108d ago
United might have no other choice in the matter.
Look on the bright side 300k a week ok, you won’t stay at Barca but there are plenty of teams that want him. He has options. No matter what anyone says he’s in good place right now, even if he doesn’t think so.
dancoombs115d ago
Yes - He also has a huge opportunity at the World Cup to put himself in the shop window

Marcus Rashford's squad number at Man Utd is GONE, given away to Matheus Cunha. If he does end up staying - what number should he wear? Or is this just a further reason there is NO WAY BACK?

What’s in number the issue is can he play answer YES HE BLOODY WELLL CAN
♥ 1
jsjs100d ago
Who cares, it's just a number. The more important number is his salary. He will come back, he will get a jersey number, he will train and swap stories, and then he will be sold for a modest transfer fee to get his salary off the books.
United’s Debt? Are INEOS gonna make a concerted Effort to get it down
dancoombs124d ago
The problem first is there are issues like transfer debt in unpaid fees which has to be managed as more of a priority even before the club’s actual debt. It’s a scary amount
vatsal127d ago
Glazers left a mountain to climb, and no tools to do so. Ineos are building the tools now, and I believe the climb will start in 2028 when the last Glazer era contract will be off the books

Rashford's situation was a creation of coaches lack of trust. Amorin most especially, caused his exit. He created a hostile environment for Rashford that brought about his dip in form. He has once again proven his class at Barca. If Utd board can swallow their pride and recall him with open mind, Carrick will definitely do great exploits with Rashford.
ndperez67116d ago
Blame Rashford not the coaches. How many games has he simply gone missing for United? He reminds me of Pogba. He hasn't justified the ridiculous wages they pay him. Having said that I think it's disgraceful the way Barcelona have treated him. Low class club.
winva2002129d ago
To be honest, he's only had 2 or 3 strong seasons. Everything else is average. With all that, he might be useful as a rotation for the six, but for 350k per week, that's completely wrong. He can certainly be used as a CF, because that's how he started his career, and he played his best games in that position.
yasou7130d ago
So Rashford was hard done to? When ETH was here, he played him constantly in spite of his walking around, never chasing back or crossing the ball, going for his own selfish glory. Rashford has had 1 good goalscoring season and was about the highest earner at the club. He's robbed United enough - no second chances!

Radford is worth £1b to man utd over the next 10 years, with his contribution in the premier league and European cup matches
taylorjoe41128d ago
Do you think Rash will be playing ANYWHERE in ten years time? He will be 29 years old lot long after the new Premier League season KO
paulashrig16128d ago

Rashford should transfer to Serie A team and forget Barcelona whom by buying Gordon with huge some of money, shows to downgrade Rushford. Rushford playing style suited Barcelona compared then Gordon. I believed, Gordon will failed with Barcelona the like of Alexander Isak with Liverpool recently.

No thank you. Marcus it’s the end of the road at United for you. Since you’ve been at Barca you’ve said countless times you want to stay there you don’t want to go anywhere else. You have also offered to take a big drop in wages to stay there. I wonder why Barca don’t want to pay a Meager £26m for you? I’m wondering if Amorim seen the same problems in you
♥ 2
I would love to see Rashford back working with Carrick. I'm probably looking through rose tinted glasses. Still too many unknowns and too much 'history' with the club in general
dancoombs146d ago
The main issue is that Rashford wants to be at Barcelona We have seen what Rashford can contribute when he is giving 100 per cent, and also what he gives when he’s not fully invested If he ended up back at United next season, I doubt it’s because he wants to be here, and that won’t be conducive to success
♥ 2
Contractually they shouldn't be allowed to buy a Rolls-Royce.... Depay, Salah, Rashford.. are prime examples of why owning a RR should be banned
adnan.riaz146d ago
Imagine a Rolls-Royce ban at Man Utd. Haha.

Barcelona don't want to buy Marcus Rashford for just £26m
How would you respond to a second loan offer from Barcelona?
barryroberts72118d ago
If he wants to play with Kane again at club level this time, then it's a no brainer for him. Obviously Barca want him from us on a freebie or loan which isn't going to happen, so cut your wage demands and join Kane, do us all a favour or are you scared of Olise?
stephenjholmes1130d ago
Barcelona have had Marcus for the season, and he has looked good. That has increased his transfer value. Let other clubs bid for his services if Barcelona don't pay what was agreed when he went there. Barca can't hold Utd to ransom!
lyndalinay303130d ago
Get rid of him
At his peak Marcus was a superb player at Utd - if you deny this you really weren't paying attention - and then it went wrong. A poorly club run , the suspect advice he received from his inner circle....all combined to leave him unhappy and unmotivated - and this was shown by his apparent lack of effort on the pitch. Utd should have handled him better.
charlton99999144d ago
Totally agree the managers fault not his ,get him if we want a world class player
robdunning41145d ago
No, he was paid too much, he only looked good when he first came on the scene and when his contract was up for renewal, otherwise he was a bone idle spoilt brat, he forgot who gave him his shot and paid his wages and the fans who adored him, he should have upped his performances to help the team and not sulk and throw out his teddy
matth146d ago

I THINK RASHFORD SHOULD REALLY COME BACK SINCE HE HANDLED HIS WING WITH ALL EFFORTS.IT WAS JUST A BIOS OF THE BOARD.
robdunning41145d ago
NO WAY, most importantly he let his team and the fans down regardless of the manager or board, I'm sure you'd play your back legs of to play for UTD especially on £300000 a week, this is what he should have done instead of sulking
adnan.riaz146d ago
Let's not go down that route... please.

What is Marcus Rashford truly worth in 2026 after his Barcelona loan?
alanw4798d ago
On the performance I saw other night Man Utd would be INSANE TO LET HIM GO AS FOR RUMOURED £26M thats rubbish for me I would not let him for minimum&50M zSO C’mon RATCLIFFE SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND LETS SEE MARCUS FLYING DOWN OUR LEFT WING IN A UNITED SHIRT !
zeke.wolf42115d ago
When Barcelona, Real, Bayern and even Arsenal are interested in your player, maybe the fans that constantly dunk on him should reflect that their POV is idiotic

Don't let Barcelona rip us off. Either they pay the agreed amount or he goes elsewhere. I'd rather sell him for 20 million to an Italian club.
