Is it time to start panicking about Carlos Alcaraz?
He's out of another Grand Slam...
pipraf201586d ago
Callum Davis, were were you during the 3-month ineligibility of Sinner last year? Alcaraz had more fiascos than wins! And where were you during Madrid and Rome with Alcaraz absent? Sinner just missed one match (he was dominating) for health issues and continues his dominance at SW19!
matthew.johns137d ago
It is definitely not good for men's tennis, and will start to be a real worry if Alcaraz cannot recover in time for the US Open...

No way, he'll be back with a bang!

How worried are you about Carlos Alcaraz's injury?
Carlos Alcaraz will miss Rome and Roland Garros...
rob.jenkins1159d ago
The best hand surgeon in the world is Spanish . He operated on the Spanish team's goalkeeper successfully after the 2024 European Championships. His name is Dr Francisco del Piñal and should be entrusted with solving Alcaraz's problem immediately.

Rackets are to heavy ,too stiff and modern strings are very stiff,,it all adds up to early wear and tear,,glory comes with this heavy price tag but we still love them
liam.mcmillen162d ago
It's a huge worry, it could change the way he plays the game!

Should Carlos Alcaraz have skipped the Barcelona Open? Did he make a mistake by playing it?
collette.gallagher1952170d ago
I'm sorry for what is happening to Carlos ATM but I think it's a bit of karma since they treated JCF so badly. His family is pushing him too hard and he really needs to rest in-between tournaments.
peter.lynch171d ago
Yeah! Would have been a tough decision though but probably the right one
matthew.johns172d ago
I think so from a neutral perspective, but it is one of his favorite tournaments so I can understand why he did want to play...
Yes. Sinner will be his best coach. 🤣
quanp03170d ago
I think you aren't wrong.

Should Carlos Alcaraz hire another coach after his recent results?
If so, who should he hire? 🤔
mmakela65173d ago
Yes. He should hire Juan Carlos back. His dad needs to stay out of it.
george.patten174d ago
No - If I remember correctly he won Monte Carlo without JCF last year, so the coach isn’t the problem. Jannik Sinner is!
moira.paterson.writer174d ago
Yes absolutely he should re-hire Juan Carlos Ferrero asap. JCF is the structure and ehas the experience as a former world No.1 player to take Alcaraz forward.

Are you surprised by how he has coped since Ferrero's departure? 🤔
kelvinho.sg121d ago
It takes time for Alcaraz to slip further and further with his split from ferrero it’s not an immediate fall - similar to Liverpool after jurgen Klopp too the change of influence of human are critical for sustained success or failures
moira.paterson.writer174d ago
Since he won the AO and completed the career Grand Slam Carlitos has lost motivation, looks like he is experiencing burn out. He needs the structure and discipline and calm experience that JCF can bring to the team. Keep Sam Lopez on as a second coach.
rockyoda213d ago
It's too early but the effects of his lose will show up whether we see it or not. They were so close.
Which member of the ‘Big Three’ is Carlos Alcaraz most similar to? Let us know why below👇
jurgen97960d ago
Like someone already mentioned Carlitos is his own man
beresbailey69224d ago
He has the best things about the big 3, shots and angles like Nolè, Federer finesse, Nadals work rate and shot selections. He's phenomenal to watch, like the Ronaldinho of tennis

It does not matter and shouldn't. Each one is an individual.

Carlos or Sinner will win the race in the next ten years.
kenheath2001206d ago
NOBODY knows what will happen by 2036. So, it is wait and see for those that would still be alive. Every day we get to wake up to is a gift 🙏🏾
sehgalkartik1234229d ago
Sinner
Novak is the GOAT. It is too early to predict about it. Carlos moves very fast and take risks in the court. He has to improve his service further and make the opponents move so that they will loose energy. If he keeps winning and improve he has a chance to over take him. Next five or seven years will answer this question.
kenheath2001206d ago
Advice from someone that has never played the circuit at even the lowest level. What a player should concentrate more on in their games is keeping shots within the playing area. He is winning all his games so far, but your advice seems to be for him to NEVER lose a single game in his life going forward, which is totally impossible.
maury1414v240d ago
Carlos is only 22, novak won 23 grand slams after 22yrs old so he improved a lot just like 22yr old alcaraz will. There will be no comparison, carlos plays the best mental managment game as well in 5sets. At 22 hes a young MJ while novak is kareem.

What do you think is Carlos Alcaraz’s best surface and why?
theintellectualtruth193d ago
J no tho
lukadagovic214d ago
On clay for sure because he is with muscles which means balls are slower on clay and he can use that to play strong
jackrackhamavast241d ago
I want to know how Djokovic embarrassed every atp player? What a load of old billhooks from the "writer".
Do you believe Carlos Alcaraz is already the greatest tennis player of all time?
shannonmorla73d ago
He is won all 4 grand slam surfaces! This sets him apart from the rest of the field along with his signature unpredictable all court game. A GOAT in the making for sure!!!
rgcoburn1172d ago
It's too soon to make this kind of assessment. Carlos is certainly right up there with the best players abd he has a bright future. Let's see how he develops.
kganesh26189d ago
Absolutely. His playing style is awesome and entertaining. He always rises to the occasion and has nerves of steel. Considering what he has achieved so far in his young career one can safely predict that he will be the GOAT!
Can Carlos Alcaraz win MORE Grand Slams than Novak Djokovic? 🤔
quanp0317d ago
Yes, he can; however, in my opinion, Sinner will accumulate more Grand Slam titles throughout his career.
kontiki200918d ago
No chance. He will burnout, that's why.
jfgg079118d ago
Eventually he will whether all the haters like it or not.
Rate Carlos Alcaraz's chances of winning the Australian Open out of 10
vs.iyer.vs247d ago
Carlos has a good chance. Never rule out Novak. If Novak has juice in his legs, he will fight till end and it. Will not be easy for Carlos else in straight sets for Carlos
tamuras1954248d ago
Alcaraz has a good chance of winning the Australian Open if he can focus on each point consistently and not worry about making the highlight reel or pleasing the audience.
joyrojashdz15249d ago
Carlos Alcaraz will be the champion AO year 2026 ! Yes he will! Angels in heaven will guide and protect him! God bless Carlos Alcaraz 🙏👋😊😘
Are you serious there is no way that sinner can beat Alcaraz on the long run

What do you make of Marion Bartoli's comments? Do you think there is any chance of Alcaraz retiring before 25?
kenheath2001245d ago
You might be right.... But Carlos Alcaraz has 3 more titles he'd like to achieve before retirement, and they are; 1). Olympic Gold 2). ATP Tour Final 3) His Second Australian Open Title
dowland58280d ago
No way
calpolrox286d ago
No chance at all. He’s going to finish with similar Grand Slams to the Big 3. Coach or no coach
♥ 1
Who would you like to see become Carlos Alcaraz's new coach?
gammybet257d ago
Interesting that people seem to think Andy Murray could coach Carlos..Andy may have been a top player but he is completely unproven as a coach. Forget the spell with Novak as nothing really happened.
daviescallum42290d ago
Andy Murray or Rafa Nadal! Toni Nadal maybe could be an option?
What do you make of Carlos Alcaraz’s decision to part ways with Juan Carlos Ferrero?
liam.mcmillen289d ago
It's a massive shock, but I can't see it changing too much tbh. JCF did not attend every tournament, and Alcaraz is good enough to bounce back!
francis.chan51290d ago
A years ago, I have seen enough of both Sinner and Alcaraz and I predicted maybe Alcaraz is more exciting to watch but Sinner will win more Grand Slam because he is more intelligent and dedicated. Sinner has chosen his coaches very wisely of different nationality.
trendblast13291d ago
I wasn't shocked. Body language and expressions in photos together told me there was friction and JCF was irritated. The bit I don't know is who pulled the trigger on who?
I think Sinner Will win his third AO title
No comments yet. Be the first.
He wont win in Australia I dont think. Still favour Sinner on hard court.
No comments yet. Be the first.
I make Sinner favourite for Aus, but you can never rule Alcaraz out

How many Grand Slam titles will Carlos Alcaraz end his career with?

Will Carlos Alcaraz complete the career Grand Slam in 2026?
emmanuelchima2015249d ago
I believe Carlos has what it takes to win AO this year
cloeten163266d ago
I think Carlos can win the Australian open
jasheelahabeeb007267d ago
lets see, he have the potential it may happen this year
Do you think Carlos Alcaraz should be competing in exhibition events during the off-season?
camerondesc1303d ago
Why not? Its not like hes going 100% in them. Hardly impacts his fitness.
liam.mcmillen303d ago
I actually think it could give him a disadvantage at the Australian Open. He pulled out of the Davis Cup with injury, he really could have done with the time off!
john.verrall303d ago
It's good for the sport. But it does make his complaints about the schedule look a little hypocritical
What do you think about Carlos Alcaraz's decision to play in exhibition events?
allyanddogan292d ago
I don't think it's hypocritical at all, I think he's looking at the future of when he no longer plays tennis, in exhibition tennis he shows game without him putting his body at risk. The ATP schedule is very close together at times the stakes are much higher so he plays all out
matthew.johns297d ago
It’s definitely a bit hypocritical to say the least…
george.patten297d ago
I understand the logic - It just doesn't look great...
Will Carlos Alcaraz win his first Davis Cup in 2026?
camerondesc1303d ago
He could easily. Spain are strong.
liam.mcmillen303d ago
If he plays the tournament, I think it's very likely he wins it. Especially with Sinner likely not playing
daviescallum42305d ago
Hopefully! Spain would have a had a great chance if he'd have been fit this year
