How concerned are you about Jannik Sinner's knee injury?
The world number one has not played since Wimbledon.
itmartsingapore14h ago
He is the gentleman of tennis and I wish him well. Quite sure he will bounce back.
peter.lynch15h ago
I’m not overly concerned right now… I think he’s keeping tabs on his long-term fitness. He can still come back and win grand slams no problem, needs to prioritise his health over less important events right now

Pray God to help him recover and to be back in action

Is Kei Nishikori the best ever ATP player not to win a Grand Slam title?
If not, who is?

I think there's a handful of names who were better who didn't. Zverev would've been comfortably top of this list had he not had the season he's had

How concerned are you about Alex Eala’s form indoors? 😬
mhonreyesjr3d ago
Concerned. She lacks consistency and her skills are hit and miss depending on the type of player and conditions. Her team needs to hire a top-tier biomechanics tennis (serve) coach to correct and optimize everything just like what Gauff did last year, otherwise she will plateau and it will harder to learn new when she needs to unlearn wrong habits first.
♥ 2
jnnccastillo25d ago
I'd rather see her noble name restored in its CORRECT SPELLING!!! Her surname is Ayala with the capital A and NOT an E, you dummies --- All of you have been virally repeating this stupid Australian misspelling, and their lazy ass journalism. Ask the Spaniards how it's spelled because she is the direct discendant to Don Antonio de AYALA!

CARLOS ALCARAZ

jurgen9798d ago
I hope it would be Carlitos. Such a shame when the players came out, the announcer didn't let him go out last so that the crowd could have applauded him for a bit longer, since I noticed they didn't stop, unlike with the other players, until the next came out. He is after all the main attraction and was off for a few months.

The World team is so weak can see an absolute slaughter here.I am sure there were more players better then Bublik available. It will be a 13-5 victory to Team Europe looking at the match ups.

Unfortunately definitely the Super Bowl for those in the USA. Personally, I don't like American football and don't watch. Tennis is much more interesting and fun to watch. and an international sport. A tennis spectator can learn a lot about the countries of the world if they really follow players from all over.

How would you stop Alexander Zverev taking so much time before serving?
Zverev has frustrated opponents at the US Open with his ball bouncing before serving...

What does Aryna Sabalenka need to change to start winning Grand Slams again?
She just lost the US Open final to Elena Rybakina...
cp2317d ago
I’m a big fan of Aryna. For the past few months she just has looked so unhappy to be on the court. What used to come across as intensity now looks like misery - even when she’s winning! I think she’ll continue to struggle until she can find the joy in playing again.
♥ 2
d.ingrid194718d ago
Roddick, you are SO wrong! It's not that Sabalenka showed "disrepect" toward her opponent. She showed OUT OF CONTROL BAD BEHAVIOR. She's SUPPOSED to be a roll model. Yes, it's frustrating to lose but one must be GRACIOUS about it, not a pouty toddler tantrum. I've lost ALL respect for Sabalenka, one who I UESD to admire. She SHOULD have been fined!!!
♥ 2
janegraham29196219d ago
I've always felt ( only in her case) that the screaming all through every match ,is completely unnecessary! It's only to try to put her opponents off! Especially as she does not do it in practice sessions. I have to turn the tv down, I hate it Grrrrr

Should Djokovic seriously consider retirement after his disappointing performance in the 2026 US Open, or was he just having an off day? Can he still win a Grand Slam event?
alexmjordan6h ago
And today we saw Djokovic pull off a miraculous victory-- he beat Zverev in straight sets at the China Open-- with no medical timeouts and looking a lot like the old Novak. If he handily beat a guy who right now may be the number one player in the world, then who's to say he shouldn't keep going? Djokovic obviously should not be counted out.
alexmjordan17d ago
I agree with those who comment that he's still competitive and performing relatively well. However, I think Djokovic won't be satisfied unless he's competing at an elite level & winning another major or 2. So he needs to realistically evaluate if he CAN win 5 set matches against much younger players. Maybe retire now while on top, or give it 1 more year.
♥ 1
jscottaaj17d ago
I feel Djok should retire. He's had his fame and he will not win anymore Majors. There are so many younger, stronger players who will continue to wear him down. Shelton is like the new Nadal!

If Coco Gauff keeps on breaking her rackets will not be able to make it to number one in the world. She must learn how to control herself. Is it time to end best-of-five-set matches in tennis?
How would you solve the issue of tennis matches lasting too long?
a.phil.a.hutchinson2d ago
No. 5 set matches are grand slam tennis. Instead let should be fault and they should scrap second serve. That would speed up matches.

taniles1324d ago
Doubtful that he'll get past Zverev if either of them gets there, but he's showing a lot more rally tolerance these days and more mental toughness than he had just a year ago. I'd give him a decent shot if his serve is on. Zverev is the only player left who can match him on serve and rally tolerance.

Alcaraz in three - statement from the Spaniard 👀
bajaj.karan0026d ago
Alcaraz in 4! I figure maybe Shelton can take a set of of alcaraz because of his serving mainly. But this poll is worry some. 11 votes for Shelton in three? and 45 for shelton in 4? Many underestimate carlos even after injury! So many have been proven wrong time and time again when carlos played his matches yet they think this.
Where does Carlos Alcaraz's forehand rank among the greatest of all time? 🎾

Will Alex Eala win a Grand Slam in 2027?
nashmanly4403d ago
No Overrated! Crowd support is better than her tennis! She may when a slam about 4 years shes been lucky on some matches but need more skills practice certain areas there are plenty of young players in Wta can beat players in top 10 besides Alex.
florentinoaman3d ago
Yes,if Alexandra Eala focus back on her dream less the fanfare she was getting..
mcdelfin553d ago
Unless her serve improves dramatically, she will face more grand slam disappointments in 2027. I hope her team realizes that and implement the necessary changes.

They’re the biggest draw and they know it. This should compel them to help the media out, but weirdly they seem to use their status as a way to get away with doing as they please. A shame

I am not sure how long a ban he should receive but he hardly ever plays now anyway so does anybody really care about this over hyped monster of an individual who has serious mental issues he needs to address and needs to learn how to conduct himself towards other professionals and human beings.

They should put 4 signs up in Tagalog about cheering. 1st- huwag mag-cheer habang nag lalaro. 2nd- huwag mag-cheer sa double fault. 3rd- mag-ingay pagkatapos ng point. 4th- silencio sa serve.
How do you feel about the rising number of influencers attending the US Open?
brook01028d ago
It’s bringing new audiences in which can only be good for the sport. It’s a tale as old as time that no one likes influencers ‘cheapening’ what people follow, music and films are having similar influxes and complaints, but it is what it is. If you’re too precious and protective then you risk putting off new demographics anyway

Do you think Novak Djokovic should now retire from tennis?
haricvasudevan17d ago
Think he should weigh his physical fitness with caution. Change parts of his game to withstand 5-set pressures. Three set is where he is comfortable today, he’s got enough gas in the tank to last . His joints will get invariable less stronger , not necessarily weaker.
charms20721d ago
I have been a huge Djokovic fan for many many years...I would also love to see him win one more slam but if it's a question of winning one more or staying healthy I'd rather see him retire. The Open def had a different vibe for me without him this year... I will miss watching him play for sure whenever that time comes...
