Is it time to start panicking about Carlos Alcaraz?
He's out of another Grand Slam...

Callum Davis, were were you during the 3-month ineligibility of Sinner last year? Alcaraz had more fiascos than wins! And where were you during Madrid and Rome with Alcaraz absent? Sinner just missed one match (he was dominating) for health issues and continues his dominance at SW19!

It is definitely not good for men's tennis, and will start to be a real worry if Alcaraz cannot recover in time for the US Open...

No, I don't panic unless it's about Coco Gauff or Iga Swiatek

Yes, it’s a wrist injury and he’s missed two Slams. If he’s not back for the US Open I’ll really start to worry…

In pointing out that Sinner had to settle for year end number 2 in 2025, the article misses to explain that that was due to forced absence of Sinner for 3 months and 4 master 1000, all of which he won this year! It wrongly suggests that Alcaraz was better than Sinner in 2025, whereas Sinner might get the year-end number 1 only because Alcaraz is injured.

Sinner didn't miss any grand slams in 2025. Alcaraz, was better last year, and has 7 grand slams to Sinner's 4, despite being almost 2 years younger!! If Sinner is #1 this year, he will deserve it.

My word. Obviously a concern considering the wrist is a very troublesome area for tennis players. However, seems he is being sensible and can only hope he returns sharpish!
