Luka Modric makes it to number 31 on TalkingPoints' 50 best footballers of all time... but what is his Tottenham legacy?
He wanted to join Chelsea, forced a move to Real Madrid, but then apologised for it all 🤔
jordan.harris2d ago
A brilliant player who did his best work after leaving Spurs. I don’t think he can be considered the 31st best footballer ever though 😂😂
dantowen819512d ago
I know he didn’t stay at Spurs for long but for me he’ll be remembered as one of the catalysts for Spurs’ eventual rise under Pochettino One of the early footsoldiers alongside Bale
jonny2d ago

Spurs summer spending was well-documented but looking back now, was the money well spent? Where would you have spent instead?
jonathan.gorrie6d ago
All good players, none of them great. Don’t know why they didn’t look outside the Premier League. They lack goals so badly
james.brooke6d ago
Feels similar to the window where they sold Bale and reinvested it in Soldado etc. It’s a Spurs thing 🤷Marmoush on a free though… are you sure about that?
lee.connor6d ago
Needed a forward, failed. Tonali was a huge risk at that price and so was Fernandes to be fair, given he was part of a relegated outfit. Savio also an odd one. When you look, they spent a huge some without adding a single world class player.

Spurs are winless going into the international break and pressure is mounting, but are you Roberto De Zerbi in or out?

peter.lynch7d ago
Give him a second!
callum_boyle13d ago
Until the problems above the manager are addressed, nothing else will change
johnverrall1113d ago
Far too early for him to be under much pressure yet but if no wins come in the next four or five, there may have to be a discussion
Further investment being placed into Tottenham... how would this money be best spent? 🤔
amirmir19d ago
Spent enough as it is since Poch left. How about some of these coaches develop players and make them better? Just give the money to your STH for having to watch such dross at home.
dantowen8195119d ago
On De Zerbi’s severance package
jameslloyd14.jl19d ago
Sacking the manager and hiring Kieran McKenna
Where is Tottenham’s next win going to come from? At least we scored this time..
eoin19d ago
Thought you played well today, just not clinical enough at all Up top. Where is bundesliga marmoush gone?
markmarston19d ago
Once it clicks you’ll motor and go on a run I reckon… it’s just about finding that goalscorer. Defensively you’ve been ok for the most part this season
chillout19d ago
What is going on over there ?

Give us your reaction after Tottenham's 0-0 draw with Everton! 👀
The wait for a goal goes on....
markmarston21d ago
Don’t like what De Zerbi did with Tell at the end… save it for the dressing room surely?
kyle.dimond22d ago
I’m really not sure how this improves. Brought in big money signings but still lacking someone that looks capable of turning a game around
tom.procter22d ago
Really poor and I not sure I can see things improving as the pressure cranks up further

Reports have revealed that Richarlison is trying to get his Spurs contract terminated early, but the club are holding firm and saying no. What should be done to resolve this issue?
camerondesc122d ago
Just get rid. He’s not good enough to have the club go through all this nonsense.
callum_boyle24d ago
Honestly just bin him off and get rid, surely? He doesn’t want to be there, isn’t the sort to get on with it and knuckle down. Last thing De Zerbi wants or needs in his dressing room
jordan.harris24d ago
I guess a loan move until January somewhere. Spurs cover his wages if they have to and then make a much more measured decision then
How many Spurs fans would have Poch back over De Zerbi?
jordan.harris24d ago
Feel like it’s never going to happen, and that’s probably best for everyone. I fear Poch damaging his legacy by coming back
dantowen8195124d ago
I wouldn’t. I haven’t seen much from Poch in recent years to suggest he’s still capable of achieving what he did in his first Spurs spell
♥ 1
charlesjones24d ago
Neither would be taking Tottenham anywhere anytime soon I don’t think
Days on from the game and evidence provided to prove it was the correct call and yet it's still being debated. Why is it always Spurs that come under the microscope in this way?
jordan.harris27d ago
It looked like handball from the outset. I don’t understand how this has been a debate for so long
brogan27d ago
No penalty last season and no penalty away from home since Harry Kane was playing for the club… don’t particuarly enjoy the ‘media hate my team’ arguments, but it does feel like Spurs come under a lot of scrutiny over stuff like this
♥ 1

It's now 270 minutes of Premier League football without a goal for Spurs... Where are the goals going to come from? 🫣
markmarston26d ago
Why did he leave 🙈🙈

leeclarke050827d ago
Last time they got a pen too
adnan.riaz28d ago
Jesus. 😭

How big of a mistake did Tottenham make allowing Troy Parrott to leave the club?
The Irish striker scored the winner for Real Betis vs Real Madrid on Friday night...
josh.barker30d ago
Yeah should definitely try and sign him next summer, leave Lankshear alone he’s not good enough 👀
freddie30d ago
Hind sight is a wonderful thing
charlesjones30d ago
Hard to blame Spurs as Parrott never looked that player. Could use him now though

Mudryk and Tosin on deadline day to cap off the spending... but is it going to be enough? 🫣
brogan32d ago
Deadline day has completely ruined it for me. Still no real source of goals imo. Weird to end the window feeling disappointed after how it started and the money spent
jamesshearman2332d ago
It’s a B window. They overpaid on a few players but the squad is considerably better than last season
dantowen8195132d ago
I’m gonna say C - Marmoush, Fernandes and Senesi could be very good, but I really don’t like the Mudryk, Tosin, Tonali, Savio deals Feel Tottenham are still extremely lightweight in terms of aggressive CBs and really need a better GK

Reports have claimed that Spurs have opened talks with Chelsea over a deal to sign Mykhailo Mudryk on loan. How would you feel about signing a player from one of the club's biggest rivals?
brogan34d ago
Genuinely baffled. Was never actually THAT fussed on signing Ndiaye, but to pivot to Mudryk… dear me
callum_boyle34d ago
This would feel odd and incredibly weird. Nothing ever feels right when two rival clubs negotiate with each other. You’re taking a guy who hasn’t played for two years and isn’t wanted by your rivals
johnverrall1134d ago
Have to say, I don’t like it. Should never be doing deals to take Chelsea rejects on loan
Spurs have spent a huge amount of money, and appear to have made little progress. Two defeats and the pressure is already on. How do you see this all playing out ?
james.brooke35d ago
They will get better, but Europa League is the ceiling for them. Invested loads of money in fairly average players. Would be amazed if they are in the battle for Champions League places
♥ 1
george.patten35d ago
I think they’ll be mid table, whether that will keep De Zerbi in the job with the money they’ve spent, I’m not sure
markmarston35d ago
That style of play takes time, a lot longer than counter-attacking footy. Spurs will be fine. They’ll get top six.
STINKER AND HOOKED! Absolutely dreadful performance from the £100m man 😭
brogan36d ago
@jonathan.gorrie I’ll give you this one mate

What's your instant reaction to this transfer rumour? 🔥
Spurs could kill two birds with one stone by using Richarlison in the deal...
brogan37d ago
If he’s good enough for City to want him then he’s good enough for Spurs, right? I’d have happily seen Richy leave for £10m this summer so using him in a deal would be incredible
Looks as if Sarr will be leaving one way or another before next week… 👋
brogan38d ago
@leeclarke0508 straight swap for MGW? Cheers and thank you

Marmoush is Spurs! What do Tottenham now need to do before the transfer window closes next week?
dantowen8195138d ago
Split on this window really! Marmoush and Savinho are capable of far better than we’ve seen but Spurs will need to get a massive amount more out of them than City did
brogan38d ago
After Maddison’s injury I’d honestly be all in on MGW
eoin38d ago
Pretty impressive Window now, i love marmoush and think he could be top for spurs. Pretty Happy with the Squad now

Savio is already proving his doubters wrong... £85m bargain?
It took him 24 games to score his first for Man City, but he opened his account for Spurs after just 14 minutes!
dantowen8195138d ago
He definitely thought that fifth goal was his didn’t he 😂
eoin38d ago
Well see in the prem wont we
jonathan.gorrie39d ago
Fair play, good start. Lots of caveats to apply though 😂
No start for Savio... need to see a big performance from Dominic Solanke, though!
brogan39d ago
Get the job done then give Van de Ven and Porro some minutes before the weekend

How much realistically could Tottenham even get for Pape Matar Sarr at this point?
johnverrall1140d ago
I think anything upwards of £20m and I’d sell
brogan40d ago
£30m probably feels like a realistic demand? Good player on his day, but clearly his time here is done after some big signings this summer…
Tottenham have completed the signing of Savinho! Give us your immediate reaction to this deal
jameslloyd14.jl39d ago
£250m on two City flops and Sandro Tonali…

dantowen8195141d ago
The fee is just insane. I’d have taken Savinho for £35m and no more! No way is he an upgrade on Kudus when he’s fit
brogan41d ago
Truly believe there is a player in there. Can’t deny is a monumental risk that makes us look incredibly stupid if he doesn’t show better form tho

There's been plenty of chat about the Marmoush fee, but Kieran Maguire think it's a realistic price. What's your take?
Man City to turn a small profit 👀
chillout41d ago
Spending a lot of money didn’t achieve much against Brentford!
james.brooke42d ago
It’s too much

About as embarrassing as it can get as Spurs are well beaten by Brentford on the opening day. What went wrong?
eoin42d ago
Oof, terrible performance, plenty of work for de zerbi this week
jackgallagher43d ago
Sell Bergvall immediately. Just not good enough
jhedley5143d ago
Not the time to panic yet it just needs time for the newbies to settle in and De Zerbi to finish building his team. Give it a few more weeks before we start doom layering.

What changes would YOU make to this predicted Tottenham team against Brentford? 🤔
callum_boyle43d ago
Hilariously bad. Thought they’d have turned a corner - how wrong I was
jonathan.gorrie44d ago
Am I the only one who is a little underwhelmed. Appreciate its not full strength and there are some signings to come but it just seems a bit meh
A deal has finally been agreed! How good of a signing will this prove for Spurs?
johnverrall1145d ago
Very excited about it. Such a high ceiling and perfect for De Zerbi. The price is a lot but I think he can make it seem cheap if he fulfils his potential
james.brooke45d ago
Can’t be anything above a C at that price. Has done nothing to justify it, although looks a promising player if you take that away. Very unconvinced
brogan45d ago
Do think we could see Savinho flourish outside of City. He’s going to have to ultimately to live up to that price tag. Player: B Price: D
Tottenham fans, who are you most looking forward to watching on Saturday?
james.brooke45d ago

dantowen8195145d ago
Van Hecke! Can he bring the composure Romero lacked?
eoin45d ago
Fernándes for me, think Hes about to take a massive leap this season and that starts against Brentford on Saturday
£85m for Savinho!!?? 😭I was all for signing him, but that figure is madness…
dancoombs45d ago
I think £50m would have felt excessive
dantowen8195145d ago
Exactly the same fee as Antony, coincidentally haha
dantowen8195145d ago
This might be the worse pound for pound deal I think I’ve ever seen 😂
Where would a double deal for Omar Marmoush and Savinho rank among the other bits of business that Spurs have done this summer?
dantowen8195146d ago
I don’t rate Savinho at all. How do you only get 12 Prem assists in nearly 60 games with Haaland up top 😂 Marmoush has real quality, he showed that in Germany. But for me Spurs have to play him as a striker rather than a winger
leeclarke050846d ago
Not have Savinho. Speedboat no driver but Marmoush would be a game changer. Still sickening that they can spend this cash after back to back 17th finishes but that's what the PL wants, the cartel all cosying up again.
johnverrall1146d ago
Top four assured if these two come in. Perfect for De Zerbi
Spurs accept loan offer from Juventus for Vicario - how do you feel about Kinsky as the No.1 option? 🤔
kyle.dimond47d ago
A risk to put that much faith in Kinsky but he really proved himself after that initial disaster. Vicario couldn’t save a fish from drowning so anything’s better than him
dantowen8195148d ago
I think the fee - like with Romero - shows how keen Spurs were just to wash their hands with Vicario. It was over for him once opposition teams started targeting him
jackdrury48d ago
Kinsky is far better than Vicario.
An unbeaten pre-season (but opponents weren’t top class), Moore, Tel, Fernandes and Grey impressing, too many goals still being leaked, but De Zerbi getting his team to buy into his press-bait build-up and aggressive counter-pressing philosophy. Early days, but the squad appears to be enjoying their football again. Looks promising. Fans gotta be happy.
freddie49d ago
100% finishing 8th or higher, wouldn’t be surprised at like 5th tbh. Solid defence, could do with a proper ST tho!
dantowen8195149d ago
What do we reckon happens with Moore? I know Koln were apparently close to getting him, but I think he could have a lot to offer De Zerbi
johnverrall1150d ago
Top four or five for Spurs this season, I think. Just a couple of attacking additions needed
Still don’t know how I feel about this. Don’t mind the player (don’t love him) but the money going to be involved is going to be obscene for a player who doesn’t blow me away 🤷♂️
dantowen8195149d ago
Is there an argument that Spurs should give Moore a run and spend the Gakpo money elsewhere? For me, I’d prefer an elite goalkeeper
Cristian Romero has finally got his move! What are your thoughts on this deal?
kyle.dimond52d ago
Think they’ll be better off without him and this move makes all the sense in the world. Glad to see him gone from the league, always entertaining apart from when I’d watch and he’d become an absolute brick wall
james.brooke53d ago
Every Spurs fan today. No more brain dead decisions from their ‘captain’. Sad day for rivals though, could always rely on a Romero moment of madness to help you through a game against Spurs

jonathan.gorrie53d ago
Good riddance, was a disgrace last year.
Pretty gutted with this in all honesty. Don’t think the fee is anywhere near what it should be for us to sell a player of his quality after the World Cup he’s just had
freddie53d ago
Feels so cheap! Dont get me wrong, he isn’t great, but surely 50m after the WC and the demand?
charlesjones53d ago
Really weird after such a great World Cup
Micky van de Ven is here to stay! Where does he rank among the best defenders in the Premier League right now? 👀
kyle.dimond54d ago
Good player but not a great one. Think he’s a very strong option in a duo with a more commanding CB. Really good for Spurs to keep him as I think the Van Hecke partnership could be pretty exciting
eoin55d ago
The vibes are picking Up at spurs under de zerbi. But van de ven was one of the guilty parties during the last two seasons. If they end Up in the bottom half again, you cant call him a top player.
brogan55d ago
Big year needed from him after two poor seasons from Spurs. Think it has to be remembered that there has not been a nailed down back four for ages with all of the injuries we've had over the last year or so. Provide more stability alongside him with Van Hecke and could be a real positive
Spurs are pursuing Victor Osimhen and Cody Gakpo, and the potential lineup for next season looks crazy.
dantowen8195155d ago
I wouldn’t bother with Gakpo. Based on Mathys Tel’s pre season, I want to give him a full year
dancoombs55d ago
Goalkeeper is a clear weak point
jordan.harris55d ago
Yeah I think I agree with most here. Osimhen and Gakpo are not the statement signings they would have been a few years ago
Victor Osimhen to Tottenham?! If he signs, what else do Spurs need to finish in the top 4? 👀
markmarston55d ago
Spurs won’t pay his wages… never going to happen
will.butcher58d ago
No chance he goes there - he’s still one of the best 9’s in the world, needs to play in the CL
dantowen8195158d ago
If they think Tonali’s wages are silly, wait until they see what Osimhen wants - thing is, I could see this new-look Spurs board paying it
♥ 1
Spurs have apparently ‘set a substantial budget aside’ for Gakpo… how much would you pay for him? Is he even good enough… 😬
roqeebhardebayour56d ago
it's not worth it
berny1911ae56d ago
Garbage
Tottenham have Pedro Neto on their shortlist IF they don't get Savinho. Who would you rather have, and why? 🤔
chillout58d ago
In a World Cup year it seems there will always be loads of clubs prepared to pay loads of money for any player with an ‘O’ on the end of their surname.
shamanth.jayaram61d ago
They’re both terrible but Neto if I had to pick one. At least he did well at another small club like Wolves
jonny61d ago
Neither. There’s a difference between PL proven and just being a PL player
