Prove us wrong: Daniel Ricciardo tarnished his legacy by returning to F1 with AlphaTauri in 2023
ivanbtofts4d ago
Liam Lawson maybe from New Zealand but He is a Natural Talent I think he's been a scap Goat for Red Bull and yet he did not faulter I'm sure he will be around for some time.A great pick up for any F1 team running in the mid sector. 👍🏻
deathshood160d ago
He was done over by Red Bull and lied to by Renault, Max was brought up to Red Bull senior team in record time, allowed to drive any way he wanted, many times directly impacting Riccardo and point finishes. Ricardo genuinely felt that Renault was the best alternative, but rarely had the car under neath him to make an Impact,
fogclimber199886d ago
Daniel's career never truly survived leaving Red Bull. That was a mistake. Especially going to Renault for the $$$. But Alpha Tauri was sad, much like when Seb Vettel drove for Aston Martin with very little ambition left in him.

You’re in charge of Red Bull, who are you signing for Racing Bulls’ 2027 line-up right now?
Let us know why in the comments!

Should Red Bull be forced to sell Racing Bulls, or has the issue been blown out of proportion?
deathshood160d ago
Racing Bulls should of been set up as a challenging team and not a training g ground for the next Vestappen, as I believe it's a choke hold on a team that can perform well
fogclimber199886d ago
Red Bull, thanks to Dietrich Mateschitz, helped F1 have two stable teams at a time when that was not always the case. Should we now tell them to sell one part of their organization? They do a great job of bringing young drivers up.

Red Bull should be thanked for buying Racing Bulls and the investment made to running two F1 teams for the past two decades. But F1 today is not the F1 that needed Red Bull to buy Minardi on the back of buying Jaguar.

Liam Lawson is ready to commit to Racing Bulls for 2027, but should he leave Red Bull’s ranks?
czechfog183654d ago
I really think he can improve his career if he leaves the Red Bull family and is successful somewhere else. The question is: who would hire him?
deathshood160d ago
Where is there for him to go, there is no challenging teams in the mid field who would sign him as he is damaged goods because of helmet and horner the guy is very good on a good day but can struggle on a bad day
kazza193361d ago
Liam has already said if a contract was put in front of him he would sign. Otherwise I think he needs to do what's best for his racing career. Go mighty KIWI.

Is Guenther Steiner's criticism of Liam Lawson fair?
deathshood160d ago
No don't think Guenther is right especially as Liam has dug in and adapted to his role at RB very well so far
bacchusnz122d ago
Lawson is 3x the points of his team mate and has beaten him in Quali except with damage or a failure. Liam if released will be snapped up and should go outside Red Bull family like Sainz/Ricciardo/Gasly and Alex have done. Guenther is talking about Liam's villain elbows out arch but that is what champions do.

So Steiner hasn't watched any F1 this year? The first incident Lawson has and its a car problem out of his control. No wonder this clown failed as a TP.

So just read an article by Comerford here, where he is musing that “Lindblad is set to replace Verstappen” seriously! ? The guy have been in formula 1 for 5 seconds, barely done one full race weekend.. had a mediocre f2 and so far haven’t even matched Lawson and now he is replacing Verstappen LUDICROUS!!

Who would win: Liam Lawson in the Red Bull or Max Verstappen in the Racing Bulls?
We're talking 2026 cars here...
ser.enmei176d ago
You're doing a discredit to yourself using NZ Herald as your source, seeing as NZ Herald don't know anything and that they use AI to write their articles.

wilsonjimwilson179d ago
This is a silly question due to the experience in the two very different cars. If they both had equal amounts of experience in each car, then Liam would win because the Red Bull is still clearly faster even if a bit more difficult to drive - it's been nowhere near as hard to drive for non-Max drivers compared to past Red Bulls.

Based on the form seen so far in 2026, Max Verstappen in the Racing Bulls VCARB 03 would beat Liam Lawson in the Red Bull RB22 (and you would imagine comfortably, given the RB22's balance problems and the issues that Lawson faced with that problem during his short-lived stint at Red Bull in 2025).

Red Bull demoted Liam Lawson back to Racing Bulls exactly one year ago 🗓️ How do you rate his last 12 months in F1 out of 10? 🤔
Let us know in the comments below!
deathshood160d ago
Let's not forget Gasly who also suffered at Red Bull and has had to rebuild his carrier with alpine
deathshood160d ago
Outstanding, considering the way he was so disrespected by Helmet and Horner, and not even given a fair go at Red Bull, Like Daniel Riccardo and Sergio Perez was also dropped and had their f1 careers destryed
pplaurie2804186d ago
I think the young man was very poorly treated at Red Bull and needs a chance with a better team

What's the maximum that Racing Bulls can ever achieve in F1 as Red Bull's sister team?
Do you think it's time for Red Bull to sell Racing Bulls?
deathshood160d ago
Although as a team Racing Bulls could do alot more with out Red Bull micro management of them, as I don't understand how Red Bull can make unilateral decisions concerning a separate team. Poaching Racing Bull drivers needs to stop for the team to have any success
fogclimber199886d ago
If they finish the season P5, that will be a great day for the team.

czechfog1836194d ago
So only Vettel and Gasly have ever won races for this team? Perhaps it would have been better if Gerhard Berger had kept his 50% of the team.

Have Red Bull improved Racing Bulls’ image with their rebrands over the years?
Let us know why in the comments!
deathshood160d ago
No too many renames that has left them with out a clear identity
fogclimber199886d ago
No! I miss the old Toro Rosso, both the name and the last livery there.

czechfog1836235d ago
I really miss the old Toro Rosso livery from 2019. But they are known to be a driver development team and that is wrong. F1 should not allow that. Sell this outfit to Horner???? LMAO!

How do you rate the 2026 Racing Bulls livery out of 10? 👇

Mediocre. About a 5 or 6.

Really wish they'd just use the colours from the Red Bull Sugar Free can

In 2026, Arvid Lindblad will score ??? points...
How do you think 2026's only F1 rookie will fare? Let us know in the comments
czechfog1836235d ago
Hopefully, between 35 and 45 points. If he can avoid crashing the car, that would be good. I expect him to push Lawson in the second half of the season.

18-24, providing they have a have decent car. Liam 48-52 points.

Looking forward to seeing what learnings Liam can take from this year to improve his speed in Qualifying as well as race craft on the Sunday. Looking forward to seeing also, the hype surrounding Linblad based on Marko's eagerness to get him into F1.

Arvid Lindblad will outscore Liam Lawson in 2026 - do you agree?

And they'd both outscore Mick, cheers Ralfie.

Possibly but he isn’t known for consistency, Liam should have that on him now. If it wasn’t for the start issues both would have got points - looking like a strong car this year.

How Red Bull academy graduates fared in F2/GP2
Are Red Bull rushing Arvid Lindblad?
fogclimber199886d ago
Arvid Lindblad is doing a very good job as a F1 rookie for Racing Bulls. But I do expect more from Nikola Tsolov when he arrives.
♥ 1
czechfog1836293d ago
Red Bull has to hope that their driver, Nikola Tsolov, has a better season for them in F2 in 2026People like Goethe and Tramnitz do not look like stars. Of course, I did not think that Arvid Lindblad was that impressive in 2025 and they promoted him to F1.
Is it too soon for Arvid Lindblad to race in F1?
czechfog1836293d ago
I do not know. Everyone at Red Bull seems to think he is good. I just did not see enough of his speed to feel that he should move up. But then, look at Ollie Bearman and Kimi Antonelli!
♥ 1
kyle.archer304d ago
There are plenty of upsides for Red Bull by promoting Arvid Lindblad to F1 early, with next year being the start of the new regulations cycle. But Racing Bulls may not benefit, at first, as he adapts to F1 after an up-and-down rookie F2 season.
david.comerford307d ago
I can see the logic for promoting him - better to learn the hard way in F1 (like Antonelli) than spend another year against lower-level drivers
Was losing his Red Bull seat the best thing that could have happened to Liam Lawson?
czechfog1836293d ago
He really was not prepared for the RB21.
kyle.archer307d ago
While Max Verstappen was right to suggest the Racing Bulls VCARB 02 would be easier for Liam Lawson to excel with, it would have been nice had Red Bull given the Kiwi more time to adjust than two rounds at circuits he had not raced at before.
david.comerford307d ago
It's crazy how accurate this prediction was
Helmut Marko has already delivered his verdict on Arvid Lindblad!
czechfog1836235d ago
I still expect Nikola Tsolov to eventually be better than Arvid Lindblad. But time will tell. If Lindblad is really good, Lawson's seat could be in danger. That is is Tsolov can get P1 or P2 in F2.
kyle.archer307d ago
Arvid Lindblad securing a 2026 Racing Bulls F1 seat proves that Red Bull did not take his Formula 2 results into consideration as much as his F1 FP1 outings, given the lack of consistency he produced during the second half of his rookie F2 season in 2025.
shay.rogers307d ago
He hasn’t been that great in Formula 2. Intrigued to see what he does next
Here's who F1 Oversteer readers thought would be in the 2026 Racing Bulls line up. Did they make the right decision?
deathshood160d ago
NO DRIVER SIGNED TO A RED BULL CONTRACT AS MAX VERSTAPPENS TEAM MATE WILL EVER HAVE A CHANCE AS MAX IS THE PRODIGAL SON TO WHICH ALL DRIVERS MUST ASPIRE TO. HADJAR IS ONLY KEEP UP WITH MAX SO FAR THIS CHAMPIONSHIP AS MAX HATES THE RB22 AND DOESNT LIKE THE WAY IT DRIVES
shay.rogers307d ago
Tsunoda never really stood a chance in anyone’s eyes, did he?
♥ 1
kyle.archer307d ago
Without Red Bull wanting to give Lawson a second chance in their main team, it was absolutely the right decision to leave him at Racing Bulls alongside their next star off the production line in Lindblad. Tsunoda is too far into his F1 career to have warranted the seat.
Yuki Tsunoda a better option for Racing Bulls?
david.comerford309d ago
Put them together at Racing Bulls next year, and Tsunoda beats him again for me
It's not that I am certain that Arvid Lindblad is ready for F1, but I cannot see the logic in keeping Yuki Tsunoda if he is demoted from Red Bull. They need to find out about Lindblad before Nikola Tsolov is done with F2 after next season. I feel Tsolov may be like Hadjar.
david.comerford309d ago
There doesn't seem to be massive hype over Tsolov, but then again, there wasn't over Hadjar either...
Liam needs another season at R Bulls for experience and Lindblad needs to get in the F1 rookie mix
david.comerford309d ago
I can see the argument for Lindblad. Why have two drivers who are never going back to Red Bull?
Pick your 2026 Racing Bulls line-up
david.comerford312d ago
I feel sorry for Tsunoda but it has to be Lawson and Lindblad. You can't have two drivers who are never going to step up to Red Bull again - that defeats the purpose of the team
