Is Guenther Steiner's criticism of Liam Lawson fair?

deathshood11mo ago

No don't think Guenther is right especially as Liam has dug in and adapted to his role at RB very well so far

bacchusnz4mo ago

Lawson is 3x the points of his team mate and has beaten him in Quali except with damage or a failure. Liam if released will be snapped up and should go outside Red Bull family like Sainz/Ricciardo/Gasly and Alex have done. Guenther is talking about Liam's villain elbows out arch but that is what champions do.

So Steiner hasn't watched any F1 this year? The first incident Lawson has and its a car problem out of his control. No wonder this clown failed as a TP.

catalind.timaru4mo ago

Steiner is wrong as usual

callum_boyle4mo ago

For all of Lawson’s faults, being criticised for something that is completely out of his control feels very harsh

jamesisdasmithski4mo ago

Terrible take from Guenther.

No. His gearbox failed. He's had a totally clean season aside from his power unit reinstalling windows on the start line in Australia and his 5th gear suddenly shattering under braking in Miami. Neither were in any way his fault. Otherwise he's an aggressive and uncompromising driver who will always defend his position. That should be praised.

Lawson has had his fair share of accidents, and that probably does need tidying up, but in this instance, it does feel harsh. There’s nothing he could have done with a gearbox failure

boflit4mo ago

none this year though, and two last year were down to Carlos being over eager. Not saying Liam is anywhere near Max, but Max's start to F1 didn't go without inchident either.

david.comerford4mo ago

Saying this after he had a gearbox failure and then tagged Gasly feels harsh
