Who should KTM sign as Alex Marquez's teammate for the 2027 season?

skeletor5555588d ago

Binder

aaditya.krishnamurthy171d ago

Viñales is the best bet, in my opinion. Thinks he’ll get the best out of Marquez too

hello173d ago

Aguis but start him with tech3 or track house

Ai Ogura will join Jorge Martin at Yamaha!

How do you rate their 2027 line-up?

gmac71d ago

Ai is such a great talent as is Fabio Quartararo But you need more than talent to win races you need a competitive bike ! I hope Yamaha's engineers can deliver a competitive 850 V4 for their riders next year 🤞🏁

♥ 1

blackbianchi1164d ago

It will be pretty great if the 850cc bike is up to the challenge. I am hopeful for them to be at the front again. Yamaha has such a long MotoGP history, its sad to me to see them languishing at the back.

Should MotoGP reinstate the satellite bike rule for rookie riders?

eldiablogasgas135d ago

It's too late for that now,the rules were bent for MM.

kyle.archer178d ago

It is up the the MotoGP teams to decide which outfit their riders race for, not the series.

Are there too many Spanish riders on the MotoGP grid?

james368d ago

Personally I think just because a brand is from a certain country doesn't mean the entire team and pilots needs to be from there too. For the betterment of the sport country or birth should have almost no weight in the decision to sign a pilot. Merit is the deciding factor.

hughmungass89d ago

Could be an element of truth in your passport working against you ( Gonzalez for example?) However it can work the other way also ( Miller can arguably thank his passport for his longevity in MotoGP)

adri1738perkins89d ago

I don't believe that. If u good and stand out in moto 3 moto 2 u will be promoted to moto gp. Look Ai he was brilliant and now he has won a gp.

Do you agree with Alvaro Bautista's take on MotoGP fans?

d76bentley178d ago

If you are only into GP and not seen WSB, go watch 2022 - 25. You will be converted lol. More overtakes in one lap than most entire GP's. Especially the 2022 -23 season with Rae, Bautista & Toprak changing lead every corner. Much more action than Motogp, but they are different for a reason. WSB fan having watched Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner all win championships

hansmartin1962179d ago

alvaro is guy who now and then talks real nonsense, a few yesrs ago i remember him saying that marc will never come back again because of devices, aero & multitude of buttons on modern bikes …

ahambly23180d ago

It’s fair to say that purists love both categories, but I wouldn’t go as far as saying those who only like MotoGP aren’t ‘real’ motorcycle racing fans.

F1 star Kimi Antonelli has visited Valentino Rossi's ranch during the break - But which MotoGP rider would win a race in Formula 1 cars?

skeletor55555123d ago

I don't know, but please don't compare Hamilton with Rossi. Hamilton could never be HALF as influential as Rossi.

ahambly23180d ago

I’d say Marc Marquez based purely off that promotional event where he teamed up with Verstappen in go-karts. Turns out he’s just as aggressive on 4 wheels than 2!

How big a role has luck played in Marc Marquez's success?

chris313nt178d ago

Rossi was the best of his era and still competitive with Marc when Rossi was in his late 30's. Marc is the only rider I've seen who can take the best bike in MotoGP and develop it into the worst bike. He did it at Honda and now at Ducati. He's the worst development rider I've ever seen

tonystanley.mm93180d ago

Best rider on any bike by far that's whyRossi dislikes him so much cos he knows Marc is the best rider in the modern age of MOTOGP. Rossi is like a spoilt child Long live the reign of MM93

ardashjoseph181d ago

Don’t agree. From 2018 on the Honda wasn’t as good as the Ducati. Because of the great talent of Marquez he was able to win.

Fermin Aldeguer and Alex Marquez are both expected to leave Gresini - Which riders should they sign to replace them in 2027?

andymedin55180d ago

Beast n Bulega

tyler.rowlinson183d ago

I would like to see Bulega in MotoGP. Think he deserves a seat and Gresini seems a good fit. Then they'll need a bit more experience, so I'll say Bastianini

Joan Mir has started 2026 with three-straight DNFs - How may races will he finish this year?

kyle.archer184d ago

Once Joan Mir has locked down a ride for 2027, he should start to push a little less and not override the Honda RC213V as much. So, with 19 more rounds to go, Mir should be expected to finish at least 12 of the remaining Grands Prix.

Toprak Razgatlioglu has named his top three circuits for racing - Do you agree?

kyle.archer185d ago

Donington Park can certainly create exciting races, but I'd put Brands Hatch and Silverstone above it out of the best circuits in England.

Is Francesco Bagnaia a MotoGP legend?

partridge.rob197683d ago

Pecco will soon find out that the current Aprillia riders are better than him. As are a few others on the grid. He's a top 10 rider in Moto GP for the remainder of his career. His peak was during Ducati's height of dominance. Credit paid for helping make it so, but that shows har far behind the manufacturers really were.

ardashjoseph164d ago

Definitely NOT. Reasonable good rider, gentleman but not strong. Complaining, nagging and is in need of a good psychiatrist.

kyle.archer187d ago

There is absolutely no doubt that Francesco Bagnaia is a Ducati legend, after helping to turn the Borgo Panigale brand into a dominant force and deliver their first riders' titles since Casey Stoner's 2007 championship in 2022 and 2023. But Bagnaia is not yet a MotoGP legend, and he may never become that.

Honda have chosen David Alonso to be Fabio Quartararo’s 2027 MotoGP teammate – What do you rate their line-up out of 10?

gqmolyneux153d ago

Quatararo is likely to be sacked if he carries on slagging off the Yamaha in public. He should just be quiet & accept it was his decision to stay there & treat the rest of the year as training

8/10. Top three rider in MotoGP and the best talent from Moto2

How much responsibility does Fabio Quartararo need to take for Yamaha's problems?

jeff.ledoux62173d ago

I've always thought quartararo had a lot to do with yamaha problems. His constant public moaning and lack of technical knowledge has left them in no man's land. Hopefully by mid 26 they will start to emerge from this low point.

johnjlbird186d ago

Once Yamaha gets to European track, their 3 riders will settle down and progress.

johanesbp187d ago

I'd say 50%. I still haven't forgotten that it was Fabio that asked Yamaha for more horsepower, Yamaha gave him more horsepower and resulted in the bike keep doing wheelie in all kind of situation. According to Rins, Yamaha ignored all other riders feedback and focused on Fabio instead. Listen to the rider who got them into this situation in the 1st place...

It may have been only one point. But the real talking point here is he beat 2 seasoned riders on Yamahas too. And it can only be a good thing for his confidence. Watch this space.

Will Ducati return to form when the season resumes?

Jorge Martin thinks so!

grahamrogers502162d ago

If the stewards have not penalized marc yet a win is a win if you put your self in his shoes would you argue the point

jjpbm.joe181d ago

It would depend on how much that shoulder can take

blackbianchi1187d ago

Marc and Fermin, are injured, riding in pain. A month off is going to do them both good. Diggia is not injured, and he is killing it right now. Not sure what happened to Franky Morbidelli? The bike can compete. With WHOLE riders, it will be more competitive.

What does matching Colin Edwards' record say about Pedro Acosta?

blackbianchi1164d ago

I believe that this means he has gotten all of the performance out of the RC16 that is has to offer, and it is still not enough to beat a Ducati or an Aprilia with a lesser rider on them.

Could Valentino Rossi help Marco Bezzecchi beat Marc Marquez to win the 2026 MotoGP title?

luke.newman191d ago

There’s no one better to have in your corner when fighting Marc Marquez for the title!

Having someone of Rossi's experience in your corner for a championship battle would definitely be a big help, especially if your title rival is Marquez.

Toprak Razgatlioglu admits his motivation ‘dropped a lot’ in Brazil – How concerned should Pramac and Yamaha be?

yambutt189d ago

Yamaha will ruin everyones career if they stay to long. This bike is horrible and what happened to we will not race the v4 till its faster then the inline 4. Y'all just abandoned that theory also. The blind leading the blind

luke.newman191d ago

2026 was always going to be a bit of baptism of fire for Toprak, but with the Pirelli tyres coming in 2027, I think he will definitely make a step (as long as Yamaha improve!)

Marco Bezzecchi leads the standings after two races in 2026 🏆 What is his ceiling in MotoGP?

kyle.archer192d ago

Marco Bezzecchi has proven that he is capable of stacking race wins with the right bike, yet he still has to prove that he has the mental capacity to manage a title fight throughout a season - let alone the mental capacity for fighting Marc Marquez for a title. But should Bezzecchi win the 2026 title, then his only ceiling would be the bike he rides.

doughackingmobile194d ago

Honda

It's a tough decision with so much uncertainty over the pecking order in 2027. I think Honda could be a safer option, purely based on the financial power they have behind their MotoGP operation.

He has made an incredible recovery....during this period..the whole racing world has seen Yamaha..1 step forward then 10 back....Why on earth look at Yamaha..no matter how much you can earn...lthin

johanesbp198d ago

Bezzecchi. I don't want riders who tried to break a contract at the first sign of inconvenience inside my paddock.

luke.newman198d ago

I am signing Marco Bezzecchi any day of the week. Not only do I think Bezz is the better rider, but he is also less injury-prone than Martin.

Do you agree with Marc Marquez's opinion on MotoGP and F1 sharing a race weekend?

blackbianchi1193d ago

Do any of the tracks on the calendar have enough garage space for 22 teams of bikes, then space for the F1 Teams too? Would one team have to move out to make room for the other team mid-weekend? I think the most we could ever hope for was back to back weekends. F1 the first week, then MotoGP then next week, allowing one team to move making room. Am I right?

tyler.rowlinson201d ago

I'd definitely like to see it. It would expose MotoGP to a more global audience, which is ultimately what Liberty want. The issue is finding a track that can support both category and attract a big enough crowd.

david.comerford201d ago

I'm torn on this. It would definitely put more eyes on MotoGP but do they want to accept being a second-class championship? Not sure

Mick Doohan says Senna Agius is going from "strength to strength" in Moto2 🇦🇺 Do you think we'll see him on the 2027 MotoGP grid?

Let us know in the comments below!

dougal145366d ago

Seems it’s not about consistency it’s more about your passport, Agius a great rider but his teammate has out performed him on nearly every occasion yet because he’s Spanish & the majority of riders are doesn’t get a look in .. All wrong 🤬

hughmungass72d ago

Talent? Gonzalez over Agius all day but unfortunately Manu's passport (Spanish) is going to work against him this time. A team Tech3 by the look of it will be told to take Agius (Australian) purely for financial and political reasons. Someone has to replace Miller in the politcal line-up

george.barrass4673d ago

Gonzalez beats Agius any day, the man is pure class, calm and collective.

scrunchie75199d ago

Alex is a Great talent as he displayed in 2025. Unfortunately lacks the X factor ie Marc , Rossi , Lorenzo and Stoner

kyle.archer205d ago

Alex Marquez reached his ceiling in terms of championship position in 2025 as the runner-up. The best he can do now is to score more Grand Prix wins, after only taking his first three career victories in 2025.

Toprak Razgatlioglu may be able to occasionally challenge Fabio Quartararo by the end of the 2026 season, but his learning curve will likely make it impossible for him to consistently be the top Yamaha rider this year.

Will Marc Marquez beat Giacomo Agostini's career records?

mandosgreat198d ago

Marc Marquez has 73 wins in the Motogp level, Giacomo had 68. So Marc just needs one more title and he'll have surpassed both Giacomo AND Rossi in either titles or wins. Also worth noting Marc had some of the hardest competition, harder than Rossi had, and even ensuring Rossi never won another title. Some might argue he's already the GOAT.

scrunchie75199d ago

Impossible, only if Marc could win multiple races on the same day as Agostini did back when Agostini was racing

kyle.archer207d ago

Marc Marquez surpassing Giacomo Agostini's career win tally across all classes is very likely (providing that he signs a new contract for 2027 and does not retire in 2026). But Agostini's 15 career world titles will likely never be beaten.

Which Spanish MotoGP race would you most like to see dropped from the calendar?

david.comerford207d ago

Jerez and Catalunya should stay, I'm ambivalent on the other two. You can't have four Spanish races on the calendar in a global championship, even if the country is MotoGP's heartland

kyle.archer207d ago

If MotoGP does strip Valencia of staging the season-finale, then the Circuit Ricardo Tormo should drop off the calendar altogether. While fans flock to Valencia for the final round, the racing at Aragon is often a lot better. The only issue with MotorLand Aragon is the lack of fans due to where the circuit is located.

Is €500k a fair minimum salary for MotoGP riders?

andymedin55221d ago

E1,000,000 for the risks the racers take seem more appropriate JMO.

tyler.rowlinson222d ago

I think it's fair. Some riders will welcome a pay rise, while it might be an issue for satellite teams whose budgets are limited compared to the factories

kyle.archer222d ago

A number of riders would certainly welcome the pay rise, but a minimum wage could cause problems for a few of the independent teams unless they (and/or their riders) can find new sponsors to help with the increase in expenditure.
