A bold statement from Marc Marquez! 👀 Do you agree that Jorge Lorenzo was his biggest rival?

ahambly23209d ago

Lorenzo was the only rider who managed to beat Marquez to the title during his Honda heyday. There's definitely an argument for Valentino Rossi, but the Spaniard was the man who Marquez needed to beat week in, week out.

If you were Marc Marquez, when would you retire?

asaaristo199199d ago

Retire now before you hurt some other rider or yourself. You have nothing more to prove in your racing career.

dougal1453200d ago

Marc won’t have the benefit of knowing what happens when he gets a lot older with all the horrific injuries he’s so far endured, so I would imagine he’s after going on until his body says no more & thinking the warmer climate will help with what happens next, I’m of an age where I now suffer badly from breaks & fractures so this is what I’m talking about..

shauncallaghan8211d ago

I don't think Marc is fully recovered from the blow that Bezz, dealt him, so for me it's a hollow and unfair win for Bezz, it's because of him Marc is not his best.

Is this why Marc Marquez WON'T win the 2026 MotoGP championship?

ahambly23222d ago

He's got a point. This is all happening when he doesn't have any pressure on him. Now we all know he's pretty immune to the pressure, but I do think this year may just be the beginning of the end for Marc Marquez.

david.comerford222d ago

I think Bom is overreacting to crashes in testing - if it happens at a key moment in Thailand maybe you start to ask some questions

kyle.archer222d ago

If there is to be any reason why Marc Marquez won't retain the riders' title in 2026, then it would likely be injuries.

Marc Marquez admits he still isn't at full fitness 😲 Where do you think he'll finish the Thailand Grand Prix?

tracey.jeffries71202d ago

At Over the finish line would be great,! Particularly if he's out front when he does so! Lol. Xxx

ahambly23224d ago

I imagine he'll still be among the frontrunners. His lap times have been good in testing, so it's just down to whether he can keep it up for a full race distance or not.

Will Pedro Acosta become Marc Marquez's toughest teammate?

ahambly23228d ago

It will be tough to eclipse Pedrosa's record as Marc Marquez's teammate. Won't be too tough to beat the rest of them, but it should be a good contest.

♥ 1

kyle.archer228d ago

Pedro Acosta will be expected to pose a tougher test for Marc Marquez than Francesco Bagnaia managed in 2025 (during a sub-par season by Pecco's standards). But Acosta will have to be a persistent thorn in Marquez's side over a number of years to eclipse Dani Pedrosa as Marquez's toughest teammate to date.

Would you have accepted Honda's offer if you were Marquez?

ahambly23229d ago

In a heartbeat, but I understand where Marc is coming from. It's doubtful that he's short for cash at this stage in his career, so I don't blame him at all for only being focused on wanting to win.

kyle.archer229d ago

Marc proved when he left Honda for Gresini that money was not his main objective (anymore, at least) as he was desperate to win again. So, as Marc feels comfortable at Ducati and clearly trusts the Borgo Panigale brand to build a strong bike under the 2027 regulations, he will not question his decision (at least until the 850cc bikes hit the grid next year).

david.comerford229d ago

No, but I'd push for a clause so I can join them in 2028

What is Marc Marquez’s ‘big weakness’ that Casey Stoner refuses to name?

ahambly23229d ago

Really don't know what Stoner could be alluding to here. His struggles with right-handers is very well known, and it's no secret at all that his biggest weakness is his own ambition.

Are we now seeing a different Marc Marquez?

asaaristo199199d ago

Desperate man at crosroads, will he get a good enough bike where he is or would Honda have a better offer up their sleeve.

hansmartin1962228d ago

marcs riding style has a lot to do with the bike he is competing with, you have to ride a ducati simply different than a honda. i think this explains a lot. on the other side he is 33 now and has suffered many hard injuries which also makes him change the way to ride.

kyle.archer232d ago

Marc Marquez showed he has further refined his very intelligent race craft during the 2025 season by building into the races, without having to immediately smash his rivals out of the park once the lights went out

Finish the sentence: Marc Marquez's final MotoGP team will be...

djangoreinhardt1965227d ago

He will finish his career at Honda. He has enough money and going back to riding that Honda wheelbarrow will satisfy his sense of loyalty. He might even get a bonus from Honda as they make a public show of the return of the prodigal son..

Prove me wrong: Marc Marquez would not win the MotoGP championship on Honda's bike today

shay.rogers251d ago

We don't know what he could do - surely if Mir could drag it to podiums then there's a handful of wins in it under the guidance of Marquez?

Prove me wrong: Marco Bezzecchi will be Marc Marquez's closest rival in 2026

jdevkmr236d ago

Bez, Pecco, Acosta should treble the top this year

shay.rogers259d ago

He should be on form, but the winter could change everything again - just look at last year!

When do you think Marc Marquez will retire from MotoGP?

412dunbar259d ago

I think everybody focusing on Bezzecchi may be underestimating Little Brother. Let us not forget he beat the shit out of Bezzecchi in points and this coming season Alex has a factory Ducati under him. Also, Martin will be on the grid as well. Marco will be under pressure.

ahambly23261d ago

10 titles would be a nice number to stop at, but I honestly think he'll keep going until he physically can't race any longer.

Do you think that Andrea Dovizioso was Marc Marquez's closest rival during the Honda years?

Maybe at the end, but there wasn't really a rider who could stay with him consistently

Marc Marquez is the Best thing to happen to Moto GP. He's so talented, humble and his generosity to charity is overwhelming giving all the winnings in millions away in Thailand alone and Spain as well. It will be Incredible to see him Equal the Greatest of all

How would Marc Marquez have performed against Casey Stoner?

ssmoothh245d ago

That would be one hell of the race! I think whole world would be watching

hansmartin1962268d ago

first of all it would have been fantastic to see these two enormous talents racing against each other and the rest. difficult to say anything about the results, at the end i think marc has got the better nerves than casey and is, was more focussed …

♥ 2

ahambly23269d ago

With a year of less experience in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, I think don't think Marquez could have stood a chance against him.

Can Alex Marquez fight Marc Marquez for the 2026 MotoGP title?

412dunbar259d ago

Maybe. Alex on a factory bike will be something to watch.

azmannaiam274d ago

No don't think so Aex can win the 2027 title

david.comerford275d ago

Absolutely no chance, unless Marc misses a significant chunk of the season through injury. That's nothing against Alex though

Change my mind: Marc Marquez is the greatest Ducati rider of all time

dgpither50264d ago

Typical reaction by Tardozzi , debatable opinion . All the world loves a winner , hope Pecco does the bizz this season.

♥ 1

ardashjoseph264d ago

This is what Tardozzi says: “Change my mind: Marc Marquez is the greatest Ducati rider of all time” And he definitely is. How can Pecco still be the “Number one”? Remarkable statement.

tyler.rowlinson280d ago

Marquez's achievements in 2025 were brilliant and he is capable of more with Ducati. But Bagnaia stands as their number one, what he has done for the team has put them on the dominant path they now show in MotoGP

What do you expect Marc Marquez to achieve in 2026?

shauncallaghan8242d ago

Christ on a bike! What scathing remarks on Marc's loyalty to Ducati, look what they did to Martin and now Peco, were is their loyaty? So rightfully Marc more or less paid for his two seasons with Ducati and has taken a loss, he made the gaimble it paid off but he is still out of pocket both with reduced earnings from Ducati and what he paid to Honda, Go Marc

djangoreinhardt1965278d ago

He will go back to Honda with thankful crocodile tears in his eyes and bonus millions in his bank account..

What is your favourite memory of Marc Marquez racing for Honda?

chris313nt176d ago

Not winning the 2015 title

james3250d ago

The year his primary bike died on the straight at COTA during qualifying, and had to run to pit for his second bike with only like three minutes left in Q. He ended up pole position.

Prove me wrong: Marc Marquez would have at least 10 MotoGP titles without his injuries

kyle.archer285d ago

Marquez would have expected to win the 2020 title were it not for his injury in the season-opening Spanish GP, after which Honda lost their way developing the RC213V. He may have also fought for the 2021 title. But after that, Ducati's rise may have still ended his run with Honda

How many races will Marc Marquez win in 2026 after his shoulder injury?

shay.rogers286d ago

Probably in that 8-12 range again. He can't really be stopped, and will build some momentum at some point...

ben.evans286d ago

I can't see him winning less than half of the races next season despite his injury

Moto GP is going down the road as F1 , we will see more silly rules about overtaking/the Tyre Pressure fiasco/ ride height rules/aero wings, next it will be the engines being restricted in power al this will be looked at by the Liberty Media Group who will ruin this sport .

dgpither50264d ago

. .I see what you mean , but I hope it doesn't work out like that , but I am also concerned MotoGP needs to distance itself from F1 . But it will be difficult as both are owned by the same people . Money seems to be the driving force for them . Seems to be the American way .

Could Jorge Martin have challenged Marc Marquez in 2025 if he stayed on a Ducati bike?

david.comerford276d ago

I think he would have been ahead of Alex, but not particularly close to Marc

shay.rogers288d ago

I think so. The bike suited his style, and he had a way of going to the edge without going over it

kyle.archer288d ago

Martin would likely have faced the same difficulties as Bagnaia and Di Giannantonio did after moving from the GP24 to the GP25 during 2025, if he remained on a factory Ducati. But Martin would certainly have expected to be a step up on Alex Marquez during 2025 with a GP24.

What should Ducati do to ensure that Marc Marquez signs a new contract?

british_winner287d ago

He should join Honda to see if the rider not the bike?

shay.rogers288d ago

Put a new one on the table right away. Give him the freedom to do what he wants, and relax about his future at the same time. That's a positive working environment!

kyle.archer288d ago

Marc Marquez will put winning races and fighting for the title in 2027 above everything else. So, Ducati must convince him that they will continue to lead under the 2027 regulations.

Does this stat prove Marc Marquez is the GOAT?

kyle.archer288d ago

Marc Marquez has certainly been able to get the better of his teammates. But Valentino Rossi still rivals Marquez for being the GOAT, and the Italian also had to share the Yamaha garage with a three-time premier class champion in Jorge Lorenzo...

Where does Marc Marquez's 2025 rank among the best seasons by a rider in MotoGP history?

shay.rogers294d ago

Second best, just behind 2019. If he had swept the final few races, there would have been no doubt…

ahambly23295d ago

Definitely top three or four, to be able to hit the ground running like that in new surroundings is amazing.

david.comerford295d ago

I'd probably put it just behind Marquez's own 2019 campaign
