What are your thoughts on Gary O’Neil now after Ipswich’s start to the season? It’s safe to say he had his fair share of critics when he joined… 😬

Has he done a good job replacing Kieran McKenna?

dantowen8195111d ago

Very good! Hull have taken all the credit but Ipswich have been a massive surprise too. Certainly a lot more physical and difficult to play against than in 24/24 Love Emersonn. What a signing he could be

george.patten12d ago

I think he’s done well. Hope he keeps them up, but wonder if they’ll fall back into a relegation scrap after Christmas

freddie12d ago

I’ve always been in the camp that O’Neil is a good manager, but that’s it. I definitely didn’t think he was as bad as everyone was making out online when he was appointed. He’s proven that again too I think. Done a good job but nothing outrageous!

WHAT A WIN FOR IPSWICH 🔥 Give us your reaction to a massive three points for Gary O'Neil's side

kilham.max21d ago

So happy to see the tractor boys doing well. A proper club with proper fans. Excellent performance and Zian Fleming looks a real coup! 11 goals last year in a poor Burnley side. Definitely an underrated player.

markmarston21d ago

Super win but also one they should’ve made a bit easier against 10 men. Still not convinced tbh

daviescallum4221d ago

I underestimated Ipswich & O’Neill massively, but I’m happy to see them doing well

Defeat for Ipswich at home to Liverpool 😔 Give us YOUR reaction 👇

dantowen8195129d ago

Thought they were fine for the most part! Couple of silly errors but decent after that. The same standard of performance against poorer sides and they’ll be ok

freddie30d ago

Just unlucky to be honest again. Scherpan tho, not a fan

david.comerford30d ago

Wouldn't be too worried at this stage. Every Ipswich fan would have taken three points from those first three games

Ipswich beaten convincingly at Old Trafford - your thoughts on the performance?

Scoreline doesn't quite tell the whole story...

caleb.sage34d ago

Not the end of the world for Ipswich. I think the scoreline flatters United a bit as well,

tom.procter34d ago

Ipswich were unlucky. Definitely some positives in there

matthew.johns34d ago

I’m sure most Ipswich fans would have taken three points from their first two games, more encouraging signs than not I would say

It’s been 42 years since Ipswich beat Manchester United at Old Trafford - 2-1 in the old First Division on 7th May, 1984.

adnan.riaz37d ago

Let’s hope it stays that way. 😭

freddie37d ago

I actually think they will win and put Carrick under some proper pressure!

jonathan.gorrie37d ago

I fancy them for at least a draw. Would be quite something

Ipswich have reached an agreement for Tammy Abraham! Thoughts?

adnan.riaz37d ago

Honestly, this could turn out to be a decent move.

freddie39d ago

Would be a good move I think! Proper goalscorer

Ipswich will host Arsenal in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Give us your reaction...

kyle.dimond37d ago

Rough draw but one of those that getting out of this cup early will probably be a positive

jonathan.gorrie38d ago

Ouch! Though it’s all about PL survival this season anyway

dale.odonnell38d ago

Not the draw Ipswich wanted. Out in the third round unless the Tractor Boys cause an upset, which I would welcome.

FINALLY! Ipswich have agreed a deal for Exequiel Palacios! Thoughts? 😍

adnan.riaz39d ago

He looks like a pretty steady signing. Keeping a close eye on how he does.

freddie39d ago

Huge signing! Gonna be so good. They are staying up, aren’t they? 👀🔥

Ipswich are THROUGH to round three after beating Leicester! Who do you want to face next?

freddie40d ago

Norwich! Perfect time to play em

chillout40d ago

No one cares - bring on anyone the way The Tractor Boys are playing.

After taking 11 games to win their first Premier League game last time out, Ipswich have done it at the first attempt with an opening-day win vs Sunderland 😍 How good does it feel to be back in the Premier League?

jackgallagher43d ago

Great performance, Ipswich are the new Sunderland!

seanfisher43d ago

That’s a huge result! Ipswich and Hull getting off to a brilliant start

charlesjones43d ago

Great start for the promoted sides. Coventry aside of course

[DELETED] Ipswich has never won a Premier League opening day fixture. Will they be able to break the curse this weekend ?

dantowen8195144d ago

As good as Sunderland were last season, a home match against them is surely the sort of opportunity Ipswich were hoping for?

josh.barker44d ago

Seems unlikely recruitment just not good enough for them to avoid another relegation scrap

jameslloyd14.jl44d ago

Winnable game for them! I’m backing them to break the hoodoo and get off to a win

George Hirst has gone! Thoughts on his move to Stoke? 😢

callum_boyle45d ago

One less player for the Ipswich vs Leicester reunion

freddie45d ago

Scored some important goals, nothing but respect for him! Go well 🔥

Our Premier League predictions are here! Do you agree with where we have Ipswich? 😬

kyle.dimond45d ago

I think they’ve got a better shot at staying up than Hull but that’s saying literally nothing

eoin45d ago

Really like their summer business, but hard to place them outside the drop zone

jonathan.gorrie46d ago

Will be hard for them I think they’re in the best place to catch an established team who struggle in the race against relegation

Leverkusen want around £35m for Exequiel Palacios... how high would you go?

james.brooke45d ago

Good player if they can convince him, £35m is probably fair. Doesn’t seem like he wants to go mind you

dantowen8195146d ago

I’d honestly walk away. He clearly doesn’t want to leave Leverkusen, as he said in an interview yesterday

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

I rate the new manager, and recent signings indicate that the club are going for it. Fans are not deluded and know from the recent past that it’s going be a challenging season - but they will get behind the team and genuinely feel that they are not back in the Premier League just to make up the numbers.

kyle.dimond46d ago

Still find it hard to see them not going down. They’re not Hull but still big concerns

caleb.sage47d ago

Think they’re still going down. I’d personally be worried with O’Neil after his final days at Wolves.

david.comerford47d ago

O'Neil isn't a bad manager but I think Ipswich needed someone better to stay up. Still, after seeing how Sunderland and Leeds did last year, you can't write anyone off

Ipswich announce Julio Enciso's return in £26m deal. Give us your reaction to the news 👇

dantowen8195147d ago

The fee is too much for me. Enciso is about the most frustrating player you could ever find. Then again, he’ll probably make up a third of the Goal of the Sesson competition in may 🤣

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Ipswich reach £16m verbal agreement with Burnley for Florentino Luis 🚜 Good move?

Anyone remember Luis from Football Manager saves?

dantowen8195162d ago

Funny one. I don’t think we saw the best of him at Burnley but he’s a player who could be a perfect fit for a team battling the drop - great tackler and a proper DM

james.brooke63d ago

Brilliant move, was really good last season and could clearly play for a better side

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Didn't see this coming... Ipswich are exploring a deal to bring back Julio Enciso 👀

Would you like Ensico back at Portman Road or time to move on?

james.brooke63d ago

dantowen8195167d ago

I do quite like this. He’s an absolute maverick, will only score 3 goals next season but they’ll all be Goal of the Season contenders

♥ 1

markmarston67d ago

Yeah but this time think Ipswich should buy him and make him feel part of the long term project. Loans aren’t always great as they need to feel attached to the outcome. If Ipswich are in a relegation battle and he’s on loan, he won’t really be too concerned as he won’t be there next year… that’s just the reality

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

MAEDA JOINS! What else do Ipswich need to do to boost their survival hopes? 👀

He scored 17 goals last season...

dantowen8195167d ago

I really like Ipswich’s business so far - if they get Carlos Espi in, I think they’ve got more than enough goals in that frontline

brookegeorge5868d ago

Ipswich might be alright this time only just. They're making some decent additions

markmarston70d ago

Decent addition this… I mean it’s a no risk buy really. £8m is pocket change in the PL

Ipswich complete signing of Kayne van Oevelen... have you been impressed by the club's business so far? 🚜

dantowen8195175d ago

Is Fatawu better than Hutchinson was when Ipswich signed him? Dont think so. Diop could be a revelation though. I think most Fulham fans would’ve rather sold Anderson

markmarston76d ago

I know it’s harsh to say and I’ll probably be proved wrong… but bringing in a £3m goalkeeper doesn’t exactly fill me with much confidence. Unless he’s a backup?

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Abdul Fatawu is reportedly close to joining Ipswich for £20m - Who does he replace in the starting XI?

markmarston77d ago

Very good signing - 22yo so lots of room to develop. That left foot can be deadly

callum_boyle77d ago

Leicester fan here: very hot and cold player. Extremely likeable but also extremely frustrating. Failed to really understand fan frustrations with the club but he does provide moments of magic - as you saw with the halfway line goal. Wish him well but it’s the right move

vatsal77d ago

Fee slightly on the higher side but fits what Ipswich have been trying this summer. High-risk high reward player. I like the player's skillset

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Ipswich are reportedly one to watch in the race to sign Marc Guiu! I'm really not sure about this one... is that fair? 😬

eoin81d ago

Someone has to take a gamble on him, there's real upside here and can see him doing a similar job to Delap

kyle.dimond81d ago

Think I’d want someone a bit more proven if I was an Ipswich fan but can’t say I’ve seen much of him. Need stability.

jonny82d ago

Not convinced. Ipswich are on a one way ride back to the Championship

2. What possessed Ipswich to spend that much on an 8 goal striker from Ligue 1 🤣

0. He will flop

Gary O’Neil is set to be appointed as the new Ipswich manager! What do you make of this decision?

leeclarke0508105d ago

He won't see Christmas as Ipswich gaffer.

freddie107d ago

Hmmmmm, not sure! Did OK in the prem but why hasn’t another English team taken a chance on him recently?

What is your instant reaction to Kieran McKenna leaving Ipswich?

dale.odonnell116d ago

Shocked. This is a huge blow for Ipswich Town. Finding the right man to continue building from the foundations laid by McKenna will be a very difficult task. Any club to secure McKenna’s services in the future will be lucky to do so. Credit to him for all he achieved at Portman Road.

dantowen81951116d ago

Who on earth replaces him? The whole club’s success was built on the foundations he laid down! My view, try and get Kim Hellberg out of Boro

charlesjones116d ago

They’re relegated

Reports claim that Kieran McKenna is the favourite to become the new Fulham manager 😯

dale.odonnell116d ago

Doesn’t sound like he’s going to Fulham, if a suggested break is to happen.

freddie116d ago

Don’t think he’s right for the Fulham job and should try one more time with Ipswich in the prem! Second time’s the charm

dantowen81951117d ago

Would be a huge blow. Feels like the whole club is built with McKenna at its core. I imagine a lot of signings come in precisely because they want to play for McKenna too

Ipswich fans are feeling relief in bouncing back to the Premier League, loyalty to their manager, and realism for next season. What does the club need to do to be in with a chance of surviving next time out ?

caleb.sage120d ago

Need a transfer window like Sunderland’s, or they’re cooked.

matthew.johns121d ago

As many others have said, spending money has to be the priority for Ipswich during this upcoming transfer window. The Ipswich owners do have an advantage over the other two promoted clubs, as they can learn from what went wrong when they were relegated a couple of years ago!

jamie.brown82121d ago

They’ve got an excellent young manager in McKenna so I would be full trust in him with the recruitment this summer!

Fair play to Ipswich - in sticking with Kieran McKenn. The team were clearly relegated back to the Championship and got off to a slow start in 25/26 - yet Ipswich stuck with him and he repaid them with an immediate return to the Prem. Well done to the board by bucking the trend and not panicking.

dale.odonnell121d ago

McKenna deserved the backing and he’s quickly shown that.

kyle.dimond121d ago

Fair play indeed but I don’t know whether it would give me much faith in this prem season being any different

markmarston127d ago

They are ran so well aren’t they… Mark Ashton has been superb. I think they have the structure at the club to do a Sunderland. They can’t afford to make the same mistakes in thier recruitment as last time tho. More European players needed… not Champ!
