Set pieces not up to the standards we’ve come to expect last night either. Nine corners and 24 free kicks. Could have been the difference on another day.

We need to get better at playing against a low block. We will play against teams doing exactly the same thing into the early stages of the knockouts. You can’t play through the middle like we tried to do last night there just isn’t the space.

Three of the very worst games I’ve watched in my life have been England 2nd group matches at World Cups. Algeria in 2010 USA in 2022 Ghana in 2026 Remind me to not bother in 2030.

The goalkeeper stormed out to try and cut off a through ball to Prince Kwabena Adu on the edge of the box. Instead of getting the ball, he seemed to clatter Adu instead. The result? A free-kick to England...we're not sure either...
