I actually think Dana/UFC knew he was injured and made conner go out. Can you imagine the backlash if he pulled out of that fight right before.

thatfan42d ago

I doubt it. If he was carrying a leg injury you wouldnt come flying out with a move like that. You'd surely come out a little more cautious and turn it into a fist fight and protect your injured leg

That is more than possible. Pretty sick business.

thatfan56d ago

I wouldn't be surprised. Probably knew it wasnt 100% but doubt they expected it to blow so quickly. Its such a big payday for the UFC they wouldn't want to cancel at last minute

If I had paid to watch the event to see Conor or paid to get into the fight I would be starting a class action law suit for fraud on Conor for knowingly being injured before the fight!

thatfan56d ago

Glad I didnt bother staying up until middle of night to watch it! 😂

kermitpersinger274d ago

I agree.we need to find a lawyer.

Should Max Holloway stay at welterweight after his divisional debut at UFC 329? 🤔

Jack Della Maddalena thinks 'Blessed' could dominate the weight class... 👀

aeboyles54d ago

No. He is not big enough and will get his ass handed to him by bigger guys. I don't want to see that. He's too good a guy to take those risks.

augustinejtrujillo74d ago

I think he should go back down to lightweight. He beat Gaethje there. Oliviera is just a bad match up for him. Oliviera is a good but boring fighter. I hate to hate, but wrestling and grappling make for boring fights.

Only to take the occasional money fight not as a career move similar to what Anderson Silva did in the light heavyweight division

Who is the current face of the UFC and why?

Paddy Pimblett has claimed this title following his UFC 329 win

damonbryan0242d ago

Gaethje I think is face atm. But holloway I felt was for a long time idk. They’re just those bmfs

seabright0544d ago

Gaithe

aeboyles54d ago

Islam is the face of the UFC. He's the best fighter perhaps of all time and he is humble and respectable. The sport needs that.

Which victorious prospect at UFC 329 made the biggest statement? 👀

A number of promising names made the most of the spotlight on Conor McGregor's return card.

augustinejtrujillo74d ago

Gable!

markmarston84d ago

Gable looks too big and too strong… he’ll be a title contender by end of 2027

This one was kind of boring. Why does Green keep getting the nod to fight?

No way paddy was lossing that fight, not after last time. I think he should face Illia next and when he wins have another crack at the Title.. The rain of notorious is over paddy is the new KING.

harvey.leonard85d ago

He looked like an animal last night. Didn't expect to come out of UFC 329 excited for a Gaethje rematch, or giving him a chance against Ilia

What's next for Conor McGregor after UFC 329?

'Notorious' suffered a serious knee injury moments into his comeback fight against Max Holloway.

steedraney794d ago

I think if he laid off the blow, stopped drinking, actually prepared to compete instead of acting like a coked out frat boy, he might be able to compete on a YouTube bum fight. He is not a fighter anymore.

greysk8r22d ago

he has done more in his life with the UFC than most could ever dream of doing let him retire in peace, end of story and the start of new beginnings with the up and coming talent that is the next gen of ultimate fighting champions, well done Conor no matter what you will always be one of the greats that built the industry from the ground up. God bless bro

nick00769w22d ago

UFC needs to stop padding stats, wins or losses outside the UFC should be dropped. Inside the UFC Connor is 11-8, not that great. Retire! Within the five years UFC will lose almost half of their fighters to retirement.

Who should Paddy Pimblett fight next?

Make your pick and explain it in the comments. ⬇️

scallahan56256d ago

Ilia tuporia

destinheath9156d ago

Ilia. They hate each other and both just lost to Gaethje. It's perfect.

What did you make of Gable Steveson's UFC debut?

brydencorey66619d ago

None of the ring girls were assaulted, so we'll see.

augustinejtrujillo74d ago

He looked impressive. He will be UFC champ.

nielbarker383d ago

I agree with most of the comments, it was a bit of a nothing fight against a nothing fighter. He leaves himself exposed plus it wasn't a long fight so we don't know how his gas tank is. Depending on who he goes against NXT we might get a better idea of his potential.

Rate Robert Whittaker's 🇦🇺 chances of light heavyweight success on a scale of 1 to 10!

The former UFC middleweight champion will now compete 35 pounds above the weight he started his UFC career at 🤯

augustinejtrujillo74d ago

4

mike12yankees84d ago

I like his chances but he will never win the belt in the weight class

kyle.dimond87d ago

I'm not even confident he beats Krylov so I'll go with a 4. That being said, I don't mind this move for him considering he's said that this isn't a new chapter of his career and that he still plans on retiring soon.

Max Holloway puts Conor McGregor number four in UFC Featherweight champion rankings

Do you agree with the legendary Hawaiian's picks?

philipsnyder110772d ago

Man I sure do get tired of reading answer from the same 3 people .... Same 3 dudes every single article I read

augustinejtrujillo74d ago

I would put Max above McGregor because he defended his title a bunch of times. Even though Topuria is bad dude he didn't want to reign over division. He actually should go back to featherweight. And could be the best.

mike12yankees84d ago

I have no idea why the Irish one makes the list

Outside of the top two fights, who will steal the show at UFC 329?

pvadodaria82d ago

Kavanagh and Royval had a war

mike12yankees84d ago

It was too boring

jamie.theodosi88d ago

Steveson will steal headlines, and I hope he does because the Hw division needs it

I think Conor is hungry and going to surprise everyone. He's been off for some years now but that just means he didn't take any damage in that time frame. He has 3-4 more fights in him before it's completely time to hang it up. But props to him for even doing it when he's good to go and set for life. Him and his family's family lol generational wealth.

robi90d ago

Can see him getting beaten badly. Sometimes it's just best to walk away. Just don't think he has the fire, speed or motivation he did in his prime. He has more money than he could ever spend so you have to ask what is the point he is trying to prove?

dr.cheyno97d ago

Well he was damaging his brain with all the coke and drinking.

After seeing how Paddy Pimblett performed against Justin Gaethje, do you expect him to ever become UFC lightweight champion? 🤔

pvadodaria82d ago

I think BSD just came in with his low iq game plan and Paddy just took advantage I don't think this win taught us much about future matchups. I am gonna have to go with no for now.

kylejamessandy85d ago

Yeah he will

richiellamas89d ago

I started thinking as I watched Tuporia and Gaethie that that could very well be Patty surviving the beating, tiring out the champ and finishing him off. I think if Patty wins the championship it will be short-lived

Can Conor McGregor 🇮🇪 overcome a five-year layoff to beat Max Holloway again?

bellhop195485d ago

Dodged a bullet Conor McGregor next time you get your ass whipped……. 😵

33plusman86d ago

He had no chance against Aldo, but turns out he did. He had no chance against Alverez, but turns out he did. I don't have a farm to bet, but if I did I'd bet it on McGregor. Reason? Because no one seems to be giving Mac a chance against Max. Put it this way, I won't be disappointed either way it goes.

baronk986d ago

The fight should've been at 155 lbs which is why McJuiced wanted this match up

Which American heavyweight will have a better UFC career: Josh Hokit or Gable Steveson?

scotthughes9785d ago

Is this a post from before Gable got KOd in 15 secs because that's a silly question if not

nick00769w43d ago

Gable by a mile.. With Bones I'm his corner

edmond808474d ago

Hokit has shown he has hands and a chin against top heavyweights and definitely not afraid to fight. Steveson needs to fight some opponents of caliber still.

How high would Conor McGregor beating Max Holloway at UFC 329 rank among the best returns?

codapan86d ago

I really hope Conner gets beaten like a ragdoll. He was a really good fighter. Respect for what he did. But he hasn't fought in a long time. Longer since he won an important match. And there are far more modern fighters that deserve time, appreciation and the pay out.

cacsmc200097d ago

I don't know about the greatest comeback in history. I wouldn't even call it great comeback. Max is great at 145 lbs, good at 155 lbs, but 170? I think it's more of a solid win for Max who's fighting way above his weight classes then it would be Conor McGregor who has been roided out and much heavier for some time.

boferfeaf100d ago

It would rank pretty high but the odds of that happening are about as high as me becoming president. Conor lost his last 5,6 fights and gets to fight Holloway now😂what a joke

Does Conor McGregor 🇮🇪 have a chance against Max Holloway?

Conor McGregor will finally return at UFC 329 after over 5 years out of action! But is it too late?🤔

mike12yankees104d ago

Like I already said, if Conor beats Max, Max should retire in shame

richiellamas107d ago

No chance at all. Well he's got a puncher's chance in the first round. But let's look at it this way. He lost four of his last seven fights. He notoriously gassed out from every one of his fights that he did knock the guy out in the first round and he's been inactive for 5 years and nobody seeing him with this new leg. Max has been active at the highest lvl

dale.odonnell131d ago

No, I hope Max Halloway destroys him.
