Why didn't Ferrari make Charles Leclerc help Lewis Hamilton during the Belgian GP?
ahambly2376d ago
The gaps between Leclerc and Verstappen were pretty identical to Leclerc and Hamilton at that stage of the race. It's always a game of 'what if', but I don't think Hamilton would have had the pace to get past Verstappen if Ferrari had played the team orders card.
I was really impressed with the racing bulls thru qualifying. And especially Bortoleto during the race.
david.comerford76d ago
Racing Bulls have been brilliant this year. They've found a way to consistently build a predictable and stable car and it's working perfectly for young drivers

What was the correct punishment for this incident with Lewis Hamilton and a Ferrari mechanic?
The Scuderia were fined €30k, €10k of which is suspended
czechfog183676d ago
Honestly, a 5 second penalty would not be excessive. I just hope the mechanic suffered no lasting injuries.
david.comerford77d ago
They were lucky with the fine in a way. I wonder if docking teams constructors' points is the fairest way to deal with incidents like this?
We ranked the drivers at the Belgian Grand Prix. What would you change?
kyle.archer76d ago
Not sure how you've got Hadjar in second? Anything other than a top-seven finish would have been a failure even after his grid penalty. Norris may have finished behind Hadjar, but he was having a much stronger race until McLaren's strategy cost him.
kevinhowarth196976d ago
Not the biggest Max fan but I think number 2 is fair as he would of been 2nd if it wasn't for bad timing
czechfog183676d ago
Norris and Leclerc both deserve better ratings. Even Bortoleto impressed me. We know how strong the Red Bull is, but the Audi is not that yet.

Is George Russell fighting with one hand behind his back, or is Kimi Antonelli just too good?
Antonelli extends his lead in the standings to 44 points after Spa!
kevinhowarth196976d ago
Let's be honest the Mercedes engines have been so good when they are working but it's cost us all because very rarely have both cars finished same race
czechfog183676d ago
For whatever reason, I think Antonelli is on a good run. He really should have two more victories already. Russell came into the season with lots of confidence, but I wonder what he thinks of his chances now.
seanfisher77d ago
I guess we will only truly find out when Russell’s straight line speed issues are solved… But Antonelli has been the best driver on grid all season, outstanding so far!

Kimi Antonelli wins the Belgian Grand Prix! What was your main takeaway from the race? 🏁
czechfog183676d ago
Kimi never loses his ability to amaze me. He keeps finding a way to win.

The penalty giver on sir Lewis must go back to the drawing board. Because they are causing sir Lewis dearly and the sky comentaters must not be so eager to blame Hamilton 😉
spanky016777d ago
F1 seriously needs to look at a sucess blast system each and every year it,s 1 team dominating, it doesn't need to be this way.
Really impressed by Bortoleto this weekend 👏 good to see Audi in that group with RB/Alpine
matth73d ago
Hamilton getting a penalty for a first lap racing incident
rebecca.braybrook78d ago
Really nice to see Gabi scoring some points this weekend! That Audi seems pretty decent when it's not suffering from reliability issues!
vatsal78d ago
Seeing what Cadillac are (not) doing, Audi's performance has been remarkable
What are your thoughts on Lewis Hamilton getting a five-second penalty for this contact with George Russell? ⚠️
ralph.cox376d ago
It was unjustified, the stewards did it again. Wrong call!
kevinhowarth196976d ago
Lewis has had bad luck go his way on alot of discussions he couldn't of avoided George on Sunday.what we all want is consistency, it doesn't feel like that's happening
patriciaasang77d ago
Penalty was wrong - the clash was a racing incident. The penalty says a lot about how they regard Lewis

Which driver will make up the most places during the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix?
ahambly2379d ago
Norris is set to have some fun in the Belgian Grand Prix after such a blistering performance in qualifying. Wouldn't be surprised if he manages to score a top 5.
kyle.archer79d ago
Isack Hadjar is the obvious answer after his grid penalty dropped the Red Bull racer to P21 on the grid. But Lando Norris starting in P13 after his grid penalty could also see the McLaren man pick up a lot of positions.

How much will Aston Martin's highly-anticipated upgrades in Hungary reduce their deficit to the top?
Fernando Alonso still expects it to be "difficult" to reach Q2 in Budapest
czechfog183674d ago
I expect some progress, but not much. They have not even practiced with this B spec car, and the Honda PU still sucks. They should be closer to Cadillac. That is a sad statement.
czechfog183676d ago
I sincerely doubt that AMR can get much out of the B spec car without getting a new Honda PU. Maybe 0.1 second improvement. Not enough to make Alonso happy.
ahambly2379d ago
Ooof that is a biiiig gap - they're lucky to even qualify in the first place. I can't see the 'B-spec' AMR26 lifting them up from the back of the grid in any scenario tbh.

Who was your star of qualifying at the Belgian Grand Prix? 🤩
snipernlucky76d ago
Isaac hadjar
ahambly2379d ago
Bortoleto squeezing himself into Q3 at the longest circuit on the calendar was a phenomenal effort, fair play to the Brazilian.
kyle.archer79d ago
Arvid Lindblad really stood out with Racing Bulls' upgrades - But Lando Norris was the star of qualifying at Spa almost taking the fight to Max Verstappen for P2

Lewis Hamilton finished FP3 at Spa by crashing into the barrier 🚨 What impact will this have on his qualifying?
kyle.archer79d ago
Lewis will brush the crash off quickly enough... But Ferrari and he may be concerned about the time it will take to get his car back to the pits after having to park it on the track...
rebecca.braybrook79d ago
I'd definitely be concerned if I was one of his mechanics! It's going to take a while to get that car back to the garage and that rear wheel's taken a nasty knock! Fingers crossed they can have it repaired in time 🤞

Antonelli tops FP3 at the Belgian GP with Russell 0.367s adrift in P4 🇧🇪 How alarmed should George be?
ahambly2379d ago
It hasn't been the cleanest practice programme from Russell, I think a mistake from Antonelli would be the only scenario in which we could see the Briton out-qualify his teammate this weekend.
rebecca.braybrook79d ago
It's a bit of a tighter gap, which might be somewhat reassuring for George, but it still felt like a scruffy session for him!
kyle.archer79d ago
George should be very worried! Kimi is dominating him at Spa...

Kimi Antonelli set the pace in FP2 at the Belgian Grand Prix - What was your main takeaway from Friday at Spa?
ahambly2380d ago
Lindblad just looks better and better each weekend. He's really been going under the radar this season.
kyle.archer80d ago
George Russell has an awful lot of homework to go through on Friday night if he is to take the fight to Kimi Antonelli in qualifying for the Belgian GP... A 1.285s margin between the Mercedes duo in FP2? Ouch.
Pierre Gasly brought out the red flags in FP2 after crashing while 1.808s slower than Franco Colapinto - Is he feeling the pressure?
rebecca.braybrook80d ago
Colapinto is really starting to look settled into that team and it was an unfortunate crash for Gasly! I'm not sure he'd be feeling the pressure just yet but it must feel nice to have a challenging teammate for the first time in a little while!
ahambly2380d ago
Colapinto looks to have really turned up this weekend, Gasly has a difficult task on his hands to recoup himself after that nasty shunt.
kyle.archer80d ago
Franco Colapinto is really stepping up his game, while Pierre Gasly had a difficult time during practice and seemed very confused after crashing on his quick lap...
Another reliability problem for McLaren in 2026 during FP1 at Spa, with Oscar PIastri suffering a hydraulics problem late in the session... McLaren already have enough problems to fix with their lack of speed, let alone all of their reliability issues...
rebecca.braybrook80d ago
It's definitely a concerning sign for McLaren! Lando had a tough start and then that Oscar issue cut compounded the concern! Hopefully they can get on top of things later today!

Max Verstappen leads Ferrari in FP1 at Spa - Can Red Bull keep up this pace without their Macarena rear wing?
ahambly2380d ago
Quite surprised to see them so pacy in FP1. Will be interesting to see how this develops throughout the weekend.
jonny80d ago
Where are Mercedes? 👀
rebecca.braybrook80d ago
Interesting to see no Mercedes or Merc power unit cars in the top 3! But I'm sure that would have made Verstappen a little cheerier after a couple of rough weekends!

Lando Norris will serve a grid penalty in the Belgian GP for his fourth battery of the season 🚨 What can he achieve now at Spa?
rebecca.braybrook81d ago
It seems like the right time for McLaren to pull the trigger on Norris' power unit, but I can't see him taking home too many points!
ahambly2381d ago
Despite Spa offering several overtaking opportunities, I can't really see Norris breaking into the top six. Between tenth and sixth will likely be his goal, anything more would be a bonus.
david.comerford81d ago
If everyone from the top teams finishes and it's a dry race, he can only really aim for seventh or eighth

Lando Norris has improved year-on-year at Spa since 2021 🇧🇪 Rate his chances of going one better in the 2026 Belgian GP?
matth81d ago
Nope, not this year. Not got the car or belief
vatsal82d ago
That streak is ending this year. Ferrari and Merc are well clear and I wouldn't bet against Max if he was driving a tractor (he is?). Top five would be a very good result for him this year
♥ 1
ishaan.bhattacharya82d ago
McLaren are rooted as third-best on the grid, maybe fourth. They can't overcome Mercedes' deployment or Ferrari aero, and RB might outdevelop them. Not looking good for podium hopes
What are your thoughts on Spa no longer being on the calendar every year?
The race will rotate with Barcelona from next season, which means it will be absent in 2028 and 2030
kyle.archer82d ago
Of all the tracks to make a rotational event, Spa should never have been in the conversation.
george.patten82d ago
I don’t mind the idea of rotation - But would much rather it be for the less historic tracks. Why cant we rotate the rubbish American tracks instead (I know the answer is money related…)
david.comerford83d ago
Only Monza, Monaco and Silverstone have hosted more GPs than Spa. The race doesn't always deliver but this is still one of the tracks that is rightly synonymous with F1. I think we could see other popular European races rotating soon to make room for new events

Where do Eau Rouge and Raidillon rank among Formula 1's best corners?
tyler.rowlinson82d ago
Maybe only Maggotts and Becketts at Silverstone rank higher, but Eau Rouge and Raidillon are the most intimidating, but brilliant corners in the world
david.comerford83d ago
The past few years, it's been like an extension of the straight. This year, it should be more interesting with less grip, although the speed might be determined by energy deployment strategies!

Leclerc is an excellent one lap specialist, but in an actual race he normally falls short. He will always be up front fighting but he lacks that special something like a Lewis or Max to be World Champion.
aaditya.krishnamurthy84d ago
I can see Ferrari struggling compared to Mercedes, so I'll say Antonelli and Russell will be on the podium, with Lando Norris right behind them.
♥ 1
tyler.rowlinson84d ago
Mercedes will be the ones to beat again, and I reckon Russell will lead the charge for another victory, with Verstappen second and Hamilton third
