On same material and outclassed by Diggia and Pecco…..than there must be something seriously wrong with Marquez. He is still suffering from his shoulder injury
hansmartin1962186d ago
well, on sunday he was not outclassed neither by pecco 😂 nor by diggia, marc was simply the fastest ducati rider like most of the time …
ianstewart953187d ago
And all his previous injuries including his recent get offs will take their toll on him, not just physically, but mentally also. It has to be preying on his mind that it'll take just one more big get off, resulting in more damage to that shoulder, and it will effectively end his career. You bounce alot better in your twenties. When you get to your thirties

Who was your rider of the race in Austin?

ai ogura

The real Marquez will come back soon...l confident he will defend his title this year.
blackbianchi1188d ago
So do we all think that Marco Bezzecchi is the best rider now, or were he and Jorge Martin lucky enough to be on the best bike this season? Both are excellent riders, but I wonder. Diggia and Acosta seem to be overcoming lesser bikes to stay at the front.

Do MotoGP riders battle harder when they're up against Marc Marquez?
The champ was talking about his battle with Enea Bastianini in Austin
psycopeteincorporated182d ago
Marquez like to cry anytime another rides against him w/ the same intensity that he always rides against all others. In a fair fight he doesn't always win and his spoiled Ego is so used to getting his way, anytime it doesn't work in his favor on track, he cries to daddy race control who almost always gives him what he's whining about.
ianstewart953188d ago
They know he's the benchmark. So every time they go up against him. They raise their game. And it's slowly sinking in that they can challenge and beat him. And he's only flesh and blood.

What did you make of the United States GP?
tyler.rowlinson189d ago
I'm going with 6. Don't think it was as entertaining as the Sprint, but we did see some strong battles, such as the Aprilias v Acosta and Marquez v Bastianini v Bagnaia

Marco Bezzecchi breaks Jorge Lorenzo's record for consecutive laps led!
Does he deserve more respect?
tyler.rowlinson189d ago
A stat like that deserves recognition. He is seriously proving himself to be a top talent, still not on the level of Marquez and Rossi, but a lot more respect should be coming his way

Here's your top 10 at the US GP
Which result shocks you most?
cancelli.ducati189d ago
So unfortunate that Ai's bike failed him. This could have put him in 3rd solidly in the points had he over taken Acosta which certainly looked possible. A class act by Rivola apologizing for the mishap showing concern for their Satilite team rider. The Noale manufacturer showing small town family like closeness bringing out the best in all involved

Again, Ai Ogura. It could have been Aprilia podium lockout. So sad it has to end that way.
tyler.rowlinson189d ago
Enea Bastianini has come from nowhere this weekend, what a result from him in P6!

Marco Bezzecchi makes it FIVE in a row!
Redemption for his Sprint crash!
tyler.rowlinson189d ago
Bez is getting more impressive by the minute. Superb character to come back from the Sprint crash, no one can stop him right now!

Pedro Acosta loses P3 in the COTA Sprint for low tyre pressures, handing the podium to Enea Bastianini - Should MotoGP scrap tyre pressure penalties, yes or no?
johanesbp189d ago
Honestly tire pressure rules are just dumb. They should check the tire pressure for each rider before warm up lap, like in WSBK.

Marc Marquez receives a long lap penalty for the United States GP after crashing into Fabio Di Giannantonio in the Sprint - Was it the right verdict?
tyler.rowlinson190d ago
100% the right decision. It was a poor move from Marquez
The move that won Jorge Martin the COTA Sprint - Did he deserve a penalty for forcing Francesco Bagnaia wide?
tyler.rowlinson190d ago
I think that was just pure racing and on the limit. It didn't look like there was more contact and Bagnaia wasn't pushed off the track, that was fine by me

The top 10 finishers in the COTA Sprint! Who was your rider of the race?
tyler.rowlinson190d ago
I'm going to say Bagnaia actually, think he commanded the field well until Martin put the pressure on him on the final lap, encouraging stuff from him. Martin and Bastianini are honourable mentions

Jorge Martin wins the COTA Sprint Race! Is the 2024 champion finally back?
tyler.rowlinson190d ago
Martin is back and he's at his best! Absolutely delighted for him!
Marc Marquez crashes into Fabio Di Giannantonio in the COTA Sprint! Does the Ducati rider deserve a penalty?
tyler.rowlinson190d ago
Far too ambitious from Marquez. No real thought process behind it, definitely deserves a penalty, feel sorry for Diggia
johanesbp190d ago
Yes. Crashing on other rider should be a penalty, stewards had to be consistent in this.
I don't think Bez was blocking Mark nearly as much as Ogura was blocking Pecco.
No comments yet. Be the first.

Bezzecchi and Marini have been given grid penalties for the United States GP for riding slowly on the racing line in Q2 - Have the stewards made the correct decisions?
Marc Marquez escaped his investigation with a warning
tyler.rowlinson190d ago
That incident in qualifying definitely needed to see some punishments. Too many riders were held up and denied potential runs, right decision for me
ahambly23190d ago
Definitely warranted but I'm not sure how Marquez has got away with that one.

Fabio Di Giannantonio smashed the all-time lap record with his pole position, while Marc Marquez could only manage P6!
What was the biggest surprise for you during qualifying in Texas?
edselford0100188d ago
Brad Binder is really struggling to ride the factory KTM, he should move on to another bike! A change is as good as a 💥
kyle.archer190d ago
Joan Mir qualifying P5 (after briefly topping Q2) is a great result for the Honda rider - Let's just hope he does not have to override the bike during the races...
tyler.rowlinson190d ago
Really great to see Pecco as the top factory Ducati, very encouraging from him. Also well done to Joan Mir, that's a mega effort with P5!

It's back to back pole positions for Fabio Di Giannantonio! 👏 Can he hold on to win the United States GP?
Let us know in the comments!
kyle.archer190d ago
It is great for MotoGP that Fabio Di Giannantonio and, in the right circumstances, Francesco Bagnaia are able to perform strongly on the Ducati GP26, after their struggles on the GP25 last year. Clearly, Diggia has the confidence with the bike to deliver.

Is Marc Marquez's reaction to his FP1 crash at COTA the biggest hint yet that he could retire from MotoGP in 2026?
hansmartin1962186d ago
no, it‘s no hint for retirement.
ahambly23190d ago
It's a concerning comment from Marc. Definitely sounds like he's creeping towards just knocking it on the head completely.

Marc Marquez topped the practice timesheet at the United States GP - Who is your favourite for pole at COTA?
luke.newman191d ago
I am sticking with my prediction from before the weekend, Marc Marquez will take pole position, but will not convert it on Sunday

Maverick Vinales withdraws from the 2026 United States GP – What impact will his ongoing shoulder injury have on his MotoGP career?
cunningham1105190d ago
Both he and Jorge Lorenzo made a lot of noise, regarding how he is the fastest KTM before the season started, and we’ve yet to see any proof of that, even before this latest injury setback. He’s saying he won’t think about 2027 until he’s 100% fit, however I don’t think there will be any competitive seats left at that point.
luke.newman191d ago
This is a massive year for Mav and his MotoGP future, and so far it does not look like he will be in the sport next season...
ahambly23191d ago
Top Gun desperately needs to show he is worthy of that factory KTM seat. If this issue crops up a lot this year, he might find himself without a seat next season.

Pedro Acosta claims the top spot in FP1 at the United States Grand Prix ⏱️ Maiden MotoGP victory incoming? 🤔
Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
luke.newman191d ago
Jorge Martin will be hoping his form continues into the afternoon Practice session, seems like he could be back on the podium once again this weekend!
kyle.archer191d ago
Pedro Acosta has certainly started strongly at COTA, but Fabio Di Giannantonio will also hope to build on his promising start.
Marc Marquez suffers a high-speed crash at turn 10 in FP1 😳 Rider ok, but how much will it affect his weekend? 🤔
ianstewart953188d ago
He doesn't bounce like he used to. And every get off just aggravates old injuries. Be them big or small. The body can only take so much punishment.
luke.newman191d ago
The old Marc Marquez is creeping back in, wasn't much he could do about that crash, but he will now know the limit at that section

Marc Marquez seemed a little hesitant when he returned to the Ducati garage during FP1, but he quickly got back in the groove once he returned to the circuit in classic Marc Marquez style.
