Here’s rankings 20-11 of our top 50! Things are getting serious now! What are your thoughts? 👀

lategreat533w ago

George Best is the No1 more ability than all of them but he will never be because of his lifestyle and wasn't around long enough

davecarey283w ago

I waa privileges to watch George Best for years, his ability to dribble, score goals from nothing should have put him in the top 10.

dancoombs3w ago

A common theme from everybody who saw Best play

daviescallum424w ago

Nice to see Andres Iniesta get some much deserved love

rzammit564w ago

we don t forget pele the king of all time

alan.mayo514w ago

George Best should and would have been higher, had he not ruined his career through booze and partying. When asked what happened to his money he famously said "most of it went on women and booze, the rest I wasted!"

rzammit564w ago

Johan Cruyff was the best in the world

markmarston4w ago

I Imagine he’ll make the top 10

dale.odonnell4w ago

Best should be a lot higher on the list.

peter.lynch4w ago

George Best gotta be top 10, dare I say top 5, put some respect on his name!

pranav.shahaney4w ago

Where would Just Fontaine be if he didn’t retire at 28? Would surely have been among the top 5 greatest goal scorers ever

rogermthomas104w ago

Ramon Kopa

jackgallagher4w ago

For me, spot on so far. Agree with everything

eoin4w ago

george.patten4w ago

Iniesta has done well to be this high up. Not sure I would have had him top 50 tbh.

jamesshearman234w ago

He was one of the best players on the greatest club side ever and won about 30 trophies. Not to mention the World Cup final winner

jamesshearman234w ago

I thought Puskas and Eusebio might have cracked the top 10 but no major complaints about this list 👏

antonymmartin844w ago

Unfortunately never saw Georgie Best play but everyone I know who did say he’s the best they’ve ever seen.

markmarston4w ago

Just realised Iniesta is above Ronaldinho 😳😳

jamesshearman234w ago

Is that a hot take? I think Iniesta had the much better career

jamie.theodosi4w ago

I’m too young to have seen most of these play, but Best from what I heard was next level.

jordan.harris4w ago

I quite like this 10 😂

jamesshearman234w ago

That’s a damning indictment

chillout4w ago

I’d have Charlton higher than Muller too. Charlton was far more creative, and although Muller scored way more goals, most were at Bayern who were even more dominant domestically during his time there. Muller was prolific, though - it will take Harry Kane another 8 seasons in Germany to beat his goal tally for Bayern.

callum_boyle4w ago

Muller also did it internationally though. 68 goals in 62 games for west Germany and then 34 goals in 35 European games. Ballon d’Or winner too. The fact so many of his records still stand too says a lot. Got the endorsement of Pele who named in his top 100 list. All my German pals think he doesn’t get enough credit if anything

charlesjones4w ago

Surprised Iniesta is the one people are picking at here. Class player. Puskas, Charlton, Best, Garrincha, Zico, Muller are this high why? Played in a time when the game was nowhere near what it is today and majority of them you only ever saw at a World Cup

stephenjholmes14w ago

The players you mention, played in an era when the pitches looked worse than Glastonbury after its been raining and had 100,000 people partying, and also players got kicked all over. You needed to have broken bones to get a foul.

callum_boyle4w ago

Ah Puskas, Muller, Best and Charlton were all phenomenal players. It’s easy to sneer at the level but it’s all relative and at the time, would’ve been considered what we consider the likes of Messi etc today. They all deeerve their flowers and should be this high. All made such huge impacts on the game too and transcended football

lee.connor4w ago

Baggio was a maverick but not as good as people like to make out. Impossible to know about people like Garrincha. All I know is he was absolutely rapid on Pro Evo!

johnverrall114w ago

Iniesta is way too high and I’m not sure Gerd Muller should be 11th either

callum_boyle4w ago

His record was absolutely ridiculous for goalscoring terms and the fact so many of his records still stand, or took a long time to beat, despite his career ending in 1981 is testament to how good he was

freddie4w ago

Bar Iniesta they are all far too old for me to say I have seen them. Based on what I’ve heard tho, surely Best is too low?

brook0104w ago

Less of the far Freddie 🤣🤣

will.butcher4w ago

Iniesta is class but 18th 😂

eoin4w ago

If Marco van Basten played a full career he'd probably be top 10

markmarston4w ago

Am I right in saying he won two ballon d’Ors? So underrated

markmarston4w ago

I didn’t watch Gerd Muller but was he really twice the player Kylian Mbappe was as this list suggests ?

chillout4w ago

Mbappe was way too low.

dancoombs4w ago

It’s so hard to measure. Technically Edinson Cavani is a better footballer than Eusebio, who made the list - but also about how dominant they were compared to other players at the time/impact on their surroundings, at least that’s how I’d judge it

markmarston4w ago

Respect to these legends but I’ve not seen any of them play to give a fair comment… only watched Iniesta. Struggle to see how Iniesta is 28 places higher than Wayne Rooney 🤦‍♂️ For me the best players in football are the mavericks… the real game changers. There are lots of talented midfielders like Iniesta…

eoin4w ago

Lots, i dont think so. Part of the best club side and arguably the best international side ever, world cup winning goal in the final, technically better than any midfielder who's been mentioned to this point. I agree rooney should be higher, but not at Iniestas expense

dancoombs4w ago

George Best is too low, Iniesta is too high, and I love Roberto Baggio he may be in my top 10 favourite players but he’s probably too high at top 20

chillout4w ago

Much too low - for me he is Top 5-10. The Ronaldo / Messi of his day.

markmarston4w ago

I’ve never sat and thought ‘Iniesta is one of the best players to ever live’, could think of 50 players I’d have before him
