Post match thoughts: this game lacked the star power of JJ Gabriel and Shea Lacey from the previous two u21 matches - but it was a strong team performance. Three good goals, although some defending could be improved. The standout player was Yuel Helafu, one goal and one assist. United need a new right-back and the youngster is making really strong progress

Sometimes the loss of a big name galvenises the team. Team solidarity, mutual trust & respect can trump the big name. You only need look at when PSG had all the superstars, and it didn't pay off.
Double change
This is Kana-Biyik's first competitive appearance for the under-21s.

2-1 to United!
Yuel Helafu gives United the lead with a low effort from outside the box His strike took a deflection although was heading on target. This is turning into a top game for the right-back, who provided the assist for United's first. Tyler Fletcher provided the assist for Helafu's strike.

Just before half-time, Manchester United equalise through Amir Ibragimov. United counter-attack after a Brentford corner, with Yuel Helafu carrying the ball upfield. His low cross finds Ibragimov who shoots into the bottom corner.

Man Utd U18s Player Ratings vs Charlton
Who was your man of the match?
dancoombs40d ago
McCormack was class. I am intrigued by Mpofu, and Ziro did a lot with the limited time he had. Very encouraging

So many standouts. Brown was electric, McCormack was dominant, Jacey Carrick is a mirror image of his father. I'd go for McCormack.
