Has anybody heard anything about LIV ending since Indy

joywatkins22132d ago

I see

johnverrall1141d ago

All seems up in the air currently. All we know is if it does survive it will be a lot smaller than right now!

Should LIV golfers be allowed to play the Presidents Cup?

Surely it would help the Internationals close the gap

getjeffrey45d ago

🔥

deveryneville93d ago

I have been watching the BMW PGA and for me Smith, Leishman , Niemann, Ortiz and Ancer should be in the team. Smith and Leishman for the foursome and four balls as they a re good in that format

deveryneville130d ago

I should also agree that USA need to think outside the box when picking the team. You pick a team that can gel not the top 10picks as that doesnt appear to work

Do you want LIV Golf to fold?

Does LIV make professional golf in general better or worse?

michaeloc1126124d ago

Dosent offer anything to the game...and all the guys joined because they are greedy

jamesshearman23168d ago

deveryneville169d ago

I cannot see it surviving, and the biggest loser is the world as I cannot see the PGA picking up the slack

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Which player is the biggest loser if LIV Golf is shut down?

Someone other than these four? Let us know in the comments!

deveryneville102d ago

It will be Cam Smith as he has lost hisgame and I am an Aussie and loved him when he was on but he is not and may never be the same again.

deveryneville169d ago

From memory didn't about 6 pay their fines to allow them to play on the DP World tour, to answer the question I am not sure as you would think the big names will be offered some sort of deal

johnverrall11172d ago

Rahm. Was an absolute dominant force before joining and has only gone backwards since. He will be crying into his money.

What legacy will LIV Golf leave behind?

dale.odonnell171d ago

No legacy.

♥ 1

johnverrall11172d ago

Not sure it will leave behind much of one at all. The rival league which failed.

gramorris172d ago

Ultimately the best golfers are getting paid more. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing 🤷‍♂️

Should the PGA Tour welcome back Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau immediately if LIV Golf ends?

Reports claim the PIF is close to pulling their funding!!

deveryneville161d ago

Well I have just read about the end of Sentry TOC in Hawaii. I have been watching this for ever not only for the golf but for the scenery. Now it gone because of ratings???? and expense. THat is terrible.Maybe PGA should float the idea of reinventing it again with LIV v PGA kind of turnament to bring the viewers back.

deveryneville166d ago

If the PGA have any sense they should get them back but how to do it is anyone's guess

deveryneville171d ago

Ok before anything lets see if it goes. Given the PIF as bank of 1 Trillion Dollars or 1000 Billion Dollars so spending 5 Billion is like chicken feed to them so we will see what happens

Should Anthony Kim be invited to play in The Masters in April?

The LIV star finished third at Augusta National back in 2010!

johnverrall11231d ago

I think it's hard to ignore him at this point. He has just made himself a major story, and I'd love to see how he would get on round Augusta.

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Which LIV Golf player do you think will make the biggest jump in the world rankings in 2026?

The OWGR are awarding points for top 10 finishes from this season!

deveryneville200d ago

I believe Jon and Bryson will make the biggest moves as the and y seem to be enjoying the 4 rounds again. But I will throw in Cam not because he is an Aussie but according to the LIV stats he is back to the best putter again and his driving and scrambling are in the top 5 which I was even surprised by . He is the wild card

♥ 1

deveryneville225d ago

I am going to go with Cam Smith who seems to have got his MOJO back. But will wait and see

chillout241d ago

Rahm - he is due a run of form.

Is Patrick Reed leaving the end of LIV Golf?

First Brooks, now Reed...who will be next?

pmidour243d ago

Stupid question

gbeale58248d ago

I love LIV golf and have watched since they first teed up. I was wearing out my remote forwarding through all the golf channel crappy coverage. Short memories, Koepka’s knee was a disaster. LIV gave him a place to play. Maybe Reed didn’t get what he asked for, not sure DJ too upset. Enjoy time with family as you’re spending the year in Europe, etc.

antony.martin249d ago

They are finished as a serious tour. However, the Saudi's will just keep pumping money in. They have to accept they're no longer in competition with the PGA TOUR, but rather the DP World Tour.

Do you think Patrick Reed is treated unfairly by golf fans?

He's certainly not the most popular player in the game...

gbeale58245d ago

Yes, but he’s not really the player I’d be riveted to watch if he were in the hunt on Sunday. A good villain, but who’s his nemesis — the whole tour!

♥ 1

steinfeld101250d ago

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Too many unanswered questions throughout his career. I remember the retired tv commentator from Hawaii saying he personally witnessed three violations on the tour. I put him below Hatton and above Garcia who should never be allowed back in the PGA.

♥ 1

jamesshearman23252d ago

I actually think he comes across well whenever I listen to him so maybe he is unfairly treated

Which LIV Golf youngster do you think is going to have the best career?

The likes of Michael La Sasso, Josele Ballester, David Puig and Tom McKibbin undoubtedly have incredible potential!

jamesshearman23252d ago

Tom McKibbin will go from strength to strength on LIV, especially with Rahm and Hatton as teammates

johnverrall11253d ago

Tom McKibbin looks like he could have a big future

jordan.harris253d ago

agree with Tony, I think Puig is in with a real chance of being at the 2027 Ryder Cup

What's the biggest reason you don't watch LIV Golf?

pmidour221d ago

The LIV haters talk such bilge. Remove the blindfold and you might enjoy a great alternative to the other tour. Anyone who can't admit LIV Adelaide is the best tournament of the year as voted 3 years running isn't a genuine golf fan.

jamesshearman23258d ago

It's just meaningless. I don't care about the teams or the events. You can't compare Cleeks GC winning in Singapore to Rory McIlroy winning at Pebble Beach.

♥ 1

steinfeld101259d ago

The finishing holes are designed to put maximum pressure on the participants. Head on competition creates excitement. The players sold out for money. Conclusion - not interested. I watch at least 20 PGA events a year. Never watched LIV. Not appealing. Phila nd Sergio are two reasons not to watch. Zero class.

Rate LIV Golf's off-season out of 10...

Brooks Koepka has left, while they have signed the likes of Laurie Canter and Thomas Detry so far

antony.martin262d ago

2. Just shocking really. LIV is dead

♥ 2

deveryneville263d ago

I reckon 8 out of ten, they lost Brookes but have added Canter and Detry, but more recently add An and Smylie who both want to grow golf worldwide not only in the USA

jamesshearman23263d ago

1/10. Lost one of their big 3 players and couldn't even convince Penge or Bhatia to join.

Who can LIV Golf sign to save their offseason?

walkercharlie828263d ago

Has to be a big name. Maybe they could sign JT, but they'll be clutching at straws now!

antony.martin263d ago

Xander! Penge would give them a lift as well!

jamesshearman23263d ago

Their offseason has been an absolute disaster! The only way to save it would be a big name like Xander Schauffele

Should Bryson DeChambeau leave LIV Golf in 2026?

antony.martin264d ago

If he wants to be consistently competitive in the majors, he needs to return to the PGA Tour, it's as simple as that.

deveryneville264d ago

For me Bryson should stay and they all should stay. To me its like the PGA trying to get the good ones only back to the PGA tour to improve it. As someone else said they are now in separate tours like PGA and DP where players can interact. Why not lt LIV PGA and DP interact

jamesshearman23264d ago

Yes! LIV is finished and I want to see Rory vs Bryson more often

What should LIV Golf change for you to give them full world ranking points?

Do you think it’s now time their events were recognised by the OWGR?

peter.lynch271d ago

The 54-hole change has obviously helped a lot, but minimal points imo

antony.martin276d ago

They deserve ranking points now, but they should accept that their poor strength in depth means that OWGR points will be minimal

jordan.harris276d ago

Have the team event played as a separate round. It doesn't work having both at the same time

Do you think Max Greyserman would be a good signing for LIV Golf?

Would LIV be right to part with an eight-figure sum to sign Max Greyserman?

jamesshearman23286d ago

He's a decent signing tbf. Will probably finish in the top half next season

jordan.harris286d ago

LIV would be wise to save their money rather than make uninspiring signings for huge sums

antony.martin286d ago

Nope! He's a decent player but is he gonna sell tickets? Of course he isn't!

Which of these LIV Golf stars would you least like to see back on the PGA Tour?

richardclowney54281d ago

None in the immediate future.

jamesshearman23284d ago

My vote goes to DJ. I’m not sure he’s interested in playing great golf anymore

garyguzzo1284d ago

Phil

Thoughts?

jamesshearman23284d ago

I appreciate JT’s answer. I think that’s how most golf fans feel

leeconnor287d ago

Bryson needs to come back at some point. As does Rahm. But other than that I don’t think too many others are missed.

peter.lynch288d ago

Yeah Phil can stay!

How will history reflect on Greg Norman?

Has golf's great disruptor been vindicated?

jamesshearman23284d ago

A polarising character! It’s a shame that most people have forgotten what an amazing player he was

tomcav109293d ago

The Shark is an icon. He has enhanced golf his entire life. The boys on the PGA should thank him for their payday boost. Quit acting holier than thou, the PGA is in communist China for crying out loud!

♥ 1

lee.connor294d ago

Most will likely just remember him as a great golfer. The LIV stuff might have an impact in some way but for what LIV needed him to do, he actually produced the goods.

What PGA Tour players do you believe LIV Golf can realistically sign before the 2026 season?

jamesshearman23293d ago

Probably nobody. The wheels are coming off

john.verrall294d ago

The biggest name I think they could get this summer is probably Tony Finau.

peter.lynch294d ago

Definitely not a big name by the looks of it, might be a disappointing off-season for LIV

What will be the impact of joining LIV on Si Woo Kim's career?

jamesshearman23293d ago

Wouldn't surprise me if he won an event or two next season and was in the top 10 in the season standings. He wasn't much of a threat in the majors anyway, so I don't think that will change

antony.martin297d ago

IF he joins, he'll be like 95% of other LIV golfers...a slow and painful regression into obscurity.

kevindougherty1957297d ago

the impact will be no matter what..... the sign up fee will make him a multi millionaire...game over.

What is the main reason Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm have struggled since joining LIV Golf?

jamesshearman23293d ago

I'm no LIV Golf fan but I think Brooks has just naturally declined like many PGA Tour players also do e.g. Jordan Spieth and Rahm is still a top five player in the world

john.verrall298d ago

Lack of competition has seriously hurt them both. I think Rahm with 72 holes again should see him improve massively. I'm not sure Brooks has the hunger any more.

antony.martin299d ago

Weaker competition, poor golf courses and fewer holes = a loss of competitive edge required in the majors.

The year is 2030... How do you think LIV Golf will look and who will be their biggest star?

peter.lynch299d ago

I think all the big names will have done what they set out to do by that stage... make money, meaning they'll have left by 2030

john.verrall300d ago

I'm not sure we will even have a LIV Golf in 2026 but if we do, Jose Ballester could be the biggest star. If Bryson isn't there of course.

antony.martin300d ago

I genuinely think it might not even be 'a thing' anymore. They are showing their desperation by continually make changes to appease the OWGR board and they're losing their identity in the process.

Will Phil Mickelson be proven correct with his prediction for David Puig?

jamesshearman23309d ago

Very good player but Seve-level short game is an insane take!!

jordan.harris309d ago

This is absolutely ridiculous from Phil considering Seve was his idol!!!

peter.lynch309d ago

He's off to a strong start anyway!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

David Puig has become the first Spaniard to win the Australian PGA Championship since Seve Ballesteros in 1981

jordan.harris309d ago

I think we see him threaten to contend for a major in 2026

peter.lynch309d ago

In good company anyway!

Who is the best young player on LIV Golf right now?

lee.connor308d ago

Puig for me. McKibbin is good as well but feel like Puig could peak sooner.

jamesshearman23309d ago

Think I'd still go McKibbin over Puig

jordan.harris309d ago

I really think Puig has got a great chance of making the 2027 Ryder Cup team!

Do you think the PGA Tour and LIV Golf will ever merge?

jamesshearman23284d ago

Nope and I don’t think they need to either. LIV have almost nothing to offer these days

walkercharlie828308d ago

A deal can't be reached when one side has all of the leverage 🤷‍♂️

lee.connor310d ago

No, don’t think it will ever happen and the longer it goes the more obvious it is the PGA don’t need it
