What should West Ham's approach be with Soungoutou Magassa? 🧐

Would keep maggasa and rid alverez asp. His a red card awaiting player way overates himself.

Soucek is the one who will change things for us with his physicality in the middle of the park. Magassa will provide extra protection for the back 4 but Soucek is the one who we really miss

I agree we need more physicality and Soucek will do a job, when he’s fully fit. But at the moment I think Alvarez is the answer, played in the World Cup, so surely he’s fit, I think Nuno just doesn’t like him.

Where would you play Soucek? I suppose he could do all three jobs quite well - as the defensive mid, the number eight, and behind the striker

Magassa has never had an extended run which I think will show what he can do, he has allowed himself to stray from his position while trying to impress and has never had the quality of support leaving him feeling that he is trying to fill 2 positions

I completely agree. Magassa has a habit of diving in and trying to win the ball high up, and leaving space for the opposition to exploit But he’s still so young. He’s never gonna iron out those kinks unless we play him

We need to integrate either Magassa or Alverez into the squad as we will certainly need one of them as a CDM, the only option in that position is Orford, who I rate, but he is young and inexperienced. Millwall away and similar we need that cover in front of the back 4.

My vote goes to Alvarez, we need some aggression in the CMF area, not all light weights, that’s where I thought Kante did well last night, only blemish on his performance was the shot he skied over the bar, but several of our forwards have been guilty of that this season.

I think we need to find a place for Magassa. Last night showed Mukasa is not a defensive midfielder We still look so open in front of the defence and better teams will punish us. Get Soungoutou back in the squad Nuno!

I’d argue we need a proper defensive midfielder in there, like Soungoutou Magassa Nuno tried Divine Mukasa there at Bolton and it backfired
