Back to WINNING ways! What did you make of our Saints shellacking? 😇

trevor_3091mo ago

They were superb

p.marshall21mo ago

Have I missed something - what did Nuno find out last night about his best first team ? Was it a missed opportunity to put the new players together to allow some bonding and understanding? A win is a win - but who is he putting out on Sat??

dantowen819511mo ago

I think the usual starts now know they have some really exciting youngsters breathing down their necks Look at how much work Bowen, Taty and Solomon got through off the bench at St Mary’s. Think the performances of Ajala and co might have been a rocket up the backside

stargator53631mo ago

Could this be a new strategy for the West Ham? Time will tell on Saturday perhaps. I opine a good part of the first half was the usual fare - sloppy passing defensive play and etc. But there came that magic moment when something appeared to click. Could it be the combination of the young and old? Or was Southampton an easy win? Dunno? Up the ‘ammers!

dantowen819511mo ago

Yeah I feared the worst at 1-0 down! Thought Piroe and Mukasa made a massive difference linking the play

pwithey11mo ago

Another player who was last season touted as “a top player..one for the future “, goes, and no replacement in sight.. looks like we’re going to try and get promoted with the U21 squad… if that’s the clubs aim…then put Mark Robson in charge, before Nuno ruins them all…

cumberworth571mo ago

Another top player out with no replacements lined up, amateurish approach

nickdomjan1mo ago

Nice to get a win....but one swallow doesn't make a summer.... still need to get some quality players through the door

dantowen819511mo ago

I’ve heard they want 4 before the deadline! Maybe 5 now with Diouf on the way

grahamwatts1mo ago

My take on last night is that we now have some game changers on the bench with youngsters able to make a difference.

dantowen819511mo ago

How much have you been impressed with Orford? To be honest, I didn’t envisage him having as big an impact as he has

freddie1mo ago

Better, but saints didn’t show up. Need to win in the league now, no excuses

cumberworth571mo ago

Impressed with most of the kids last night, Mukasa looks quality, can’t win promotion with kids though, very loose in possession early on. Taty looked better when he came on, need players through the door but who wants to come?

ray.baxterct19511mo ago

Total use of kids is suicide I agree, but it's lunacy not to drip feed them into the team, WHAM have some quality lurking ready to be unleashed.

ray.baxterct19511mo ago

I'm pleased to say I toldyerso about Josh Ajala. I've posted B4 that he has been left to stew, while his record speaks for itself. He is a massive talent and he can only get better. You can tell he is a lovely lad and seems embarrassed at scoring. His positioning is instinctive and credit to Mark Phillips and co.

jonathan.gorrie1mo ago

Love it, Ray! I know you'e a big Ajala fan. Think Nuno will stick him in on Saturday? I have my doubts, sadly

ray.baxterct19511mo ago

Golambeckis is another massive talent for his age, he's cool under pressure and helps to steady others around him. By the way my boyhood home team did a great job too last night, Posh absolutely stuffed Watford last night 5-1, the 2nd string played in the 1st half but after reinforcements by Watford, they still scored 3 goals. WHAM should beat them easy.

james.brooke1mo ago

Maybe all the moaning will stop now! Been some shocking takes after two games. Southampton are still one the best teams in the division, beating them so convincingly cup or no is a really good sign

jonathan.gorrie1mo ago

Great result, hopefully build some momemtum now. Hard to fully trust that Nuno will harness it though

eoin1mo ago

Nuno Will be relieved, vibes are back up

markmarston1mo ago

Blimey that’s a super result! Will that be the catalyst to kick on now? Clearly this group are very capable of winning lots of footy games this seasons if they play like that every week! Nuno gets another week!

chillout1mo ago

5 days.

harveyleonard991mo ago

Not to be too dismissive, but I don’t think this will calm any West Ham nerves. Fans know they absolutely have to get promotion, so until they start winning in the championship, they won’t be feeling good

dale.odonnell1mo ago

Great result. Just what Nuno needed. Is it enough to restore confidence?

antonymmartin841mo ago

Very good response but I’m reserving judgement until the weekend.

dantowen819511mo ago

I thought the kids were very good. Question is, have any played their way into the team? Mukasa and Ajala may fancy their chances, but I’d be tempted to start Mayers over Scarles too

charlesjones1mo ago

This could be the start of the run. West Ham will still win the league this year

antonymmartin841mo ago

Absolutely no chance Charles. Would be shocked if we did

chillout1mo ago

Yeah - with Parker or Howe in charge !!

chillout1mo ago

Ok - that was the response we needed; Southampton are tough to beat at home. But it will mean nothing unless we pick up 3 points against Watford. Fail to do that, and the pressure is massively back on,

dantowen819511mo ago

Nuno has a big decision with some of the fringe players now. Mukasa and Veltman I think should both start vs Watford

dantowen819511mo ago

Just a really fun night, that! Ajala was obviously quality but how good did Mukasa look?
