£38m spent, nine new players: How do YOU rate West Ham's window? 🤨

Which signing are you most excited about? And where did we fall short?'

22+12+5+1 = 40

pohlm584w ago

Well someone can't count 22 +12+5+1=40 or at least it did when I Went to school.

Solid window for a championship club!

A sensible approach as we need to balance the need to get back to Premier League at first attempt with not being lumbered with high debt should we not achieve. Plus we will need a lot of funds for quality players if we do get to Premier at first attempt. My focus will be on our young players as this is a golden opportunity to make the grade.

Agree on the youngsters. Orford, Kante, Ajala and Golambeckis should benefit massively from us going down, like Mark Noble and Anton Ferdinand did years ago

I think we were quoted inflated prices for all the players we have been interested in after Fernandes and Summerville sales, I certainly believed that more money was available and felt that we have failed to replace like with like. We didn't seem to have replacements lined up. Also missing is the cost of the loans

dantowen819514w ago

Agreed. Some of the players we looked at where McAtee, who’s now starting for Forest, and Isidor who would’ve cost £20m+ I think we were keen on Poku, who joined Besiktas for £20m. We got Solomon for a quarter of that!

jamesshearman234w ago

6/10. Should be just about enough to get promoted but could’ve almost guaranteed promotion with a better window

peter.lynch4w ago

Engels can fly high this season I think, was a big hit at Celtic 🔥

dantowen819514w ago

Worked hard off the ball didn’t he vs Wolves? Yet to really see his qualities in possession too much but looks a real battler

cookie2704814w ago

After Kretinsky failed to supply the previously alluded to loan for player purchases (though I can appreciate why he didn’t stump up his spare change), we were never going to have the dosh to compete with premiership teams. Considering that, I don’t think it was a bad window. Many more movements than I envisaged, not much left of our ‘core team’.

dantowen819514w ago

Yeah I’m fairly ok with it. I know we didn’t spend the money we made but I think we’ve got some really good value additions. Solomon, Piroe, Veltman and Mukasa combined would probably cost £30m if we didn’t get them on loan/frees

pwithey14w ago

Very poor window, apart from makasa and Veltman who both definitely have more to offer than the others, but as apart from Engels the others are mostly unknown I guess the jury’s still out on if they will be assets or not. And I can’t believe we have let Landers go out on loan, surely he was worth keeping as a back up for the flimsy strike forcce we have.

dantowen819514w ago

I wonder if Nuno thinks we have enough with Piroe, Taty and Pablo up top, but yeah I do worry about that. I’d have been tempted to keep Callum Marshall around That Jett Murphy we signed in the summer might be one who can step up if needed, we’ve got Dan Cummings too

antonymmartin844w ago

Definitely not happy. Feel like the club is being stripped apart bit by bit. However, Piroe is a great signing for us, and Solomon should do well. Good to have Mukasa back also

dantowen819514w ago

Is there an argument that the signings after Fernandes and Summerville - eg Todibo, Diouf, AWB - are worth losing the depth if it makes for a happier dressing room?

deeicf4w ago

🔥🔥

charlesjones4w ago

Easily enough to get promoted.

dantowen819514w ago

The tactics are still a worry but there’s so much individual talent in this team to win a match on its own - some of the goals we’ve scored this season have been quality, none better than Mukasa’s last night

dantowen819514w ago

I still feel the squad is lacking in some areas. But Solomon and Mukasa look outstanding, and Morato is hopefully an upgrade on Kilman I’d give it a 6/10
