Just read an article on The Race about changes coming to the Madring for next year: - Widening the turn five/six chicane - Making turn 13 a heavier braking zone - Widening turn 20 Do we think this will be enough to fix it? 🤔

rebecca.braybrook18d ago

I really think that this track joined the calendar before it was truly ready. Personally, I believe it should have joined in 2027 and given them ample time to sort a lot of the issues that it had, out.

gramorris20d ago

13 won’t make a difference because you can’t get close round monumental. 20 might but didn’t Lando also suggest getting rid of 18 & 19 so you could get close before 20. 5/6 I guess the plan is more speed to create the opportunity into 7

ronswenson20d ago

No, it won’t fix it. It will perhaps make it somewhat safer.. it’s still a track I don’t like where it’s very very difficult overtake, where drivers must take big risks todo so (Like Lawson had todo). Tracks like these are unfair to drivers and they drive around like a string of pearls following each other.. not fun

We ranked the top five drivers at the Spanish Grand Prix, but what would you change? ⭐

czechfog183620d ago

I still move Kimi up to the top. He did exactly what he had to do to win the race. Toto has to be extremely happy with him. Franco Colapinto does not belong there at all.

ronswenson20d ago

Verstappen 4+sec behind Norris 5+ Leclerc 29+ Russell 30 Lawson 1.26 Lindblad and hulkenberg +1 lap Can’t really single Lawson out just a weird race.

seanfisher21d ago

Glad to see Colapinto getting the praise he deserves though, really strong weekend from him after his Monza disappointment

Lando Norris says drivers have suggested keeping the VSC out for a full lap. Do you agree? 👇

ronswenson20d ago

Difficult question, the thing is though the races should be fair to all.. the way it is not it is not fair it is an element of luck depending on where you are on the track. Everyone should be given the same opportunity so the can utilise theirs skills equally in the race. Luck should not enter the equation when it could be made into a level playing field

czechfog183620d ago

NO!! The rules should not be changed every time something happens that a pundit does not like.

I totally agree it is not right that every doesn't get the opportunity to pit it just means the FIA get to control the outcome of the race

Toto Wolff says it's too early to celebrate Kimi Antonelli being the clear title winner, but is he being overly optimistic?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

Toto knows that things can change that's out of his hands so he won't count his chicken's just yet

seanfisher21d ago

Toto is always going to say this, and rightly so. Can never celebrate early in sport. But Kimi is looking unstoppable 🔥

kevinhowarth196921d ago

McLaren will get second and Lando was the only one on current form likely to of caught him, after Madrid it's over and no-one is getting close to Kimi

Another win for Mercedes extends their lead by 145 points 👀 But will McLaren catch Ferrari for second?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

Only Ferrari can hold onto second place all they have to do is listen to their drivers and do as they say it worked with Schumacher

czechfog183620d ago

I think it is possible. Lando could pass George Russell for P2 in the driver's title standings. But McLaren is suffering because Oscar Piastri is off in the races.

seanfisher21d ago

Will Cadillac score a single point this season I wonder 🤔probably not

Kimi Antonelli extends his lead at the top of the standings 💪 Could we see one of F1's earliest ever title wins?

nedand18d ago

If it was easier, why is there a difference in outcome?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

Kimi as now showed George and the rest of the field that the new kid on the block is here for just one reason.F1 title

david.comerford21d ago

Verstappen did it with five full weekends to spare in 2023. Don't think Antonelli will replicate that, but can see him doing it with four left

Norris says luck wasn't on his side, but how much is his P3 down to McLaren's strategy call?

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

It really was unlucky for McLaren today, but seeing where Stroll was parked, I really think they should have boxed just before the VSC was called and taken that risk!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Verstappen says P2 was a "great result" with the pace of Norris. Was this track too difficult for overtakes?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

That circuit needs a complete overall it as too many hotspots

gramorris21d ago

Like the track but hopefully they figure out a way to open up some opportunities for overtaking

Antonelli believes Norris deserved the win, do you agree?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

Kimi hes just a gentleman but deep down i think he's mire pleased with the win

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

A lucky break for Antonelli today, McLaren saved him a fight out in front, I think.

Kimi Antonelli wins the Spanish Grand Prix 🏆 But what did you think of the Madring's debut?

dick8538020d ago

Most of the action seemed to happen in the first two corners after the start. After that, pretty boring. I think everyone hoped for La Monumental to provide some excitement but I can't recall anything of note happening there. Let's hope driver criticism is taken into consideration for next year's event. Was upgrading Jarama ever considered?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

Not a favourite for some driver's and overtaking is minimal

tweckers197020d ago

Pitting under virtual and live safety car should not be allowed under the rules. The result today was very disappointing

Fastest lap after fastest lap for Norris and he's now under a second behind Verstappen! Reminder that Leclerc is yet to pit, so a podium for Norris looks inevitable

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

What a 'what if' moment for Norris! He's looked fast all day, so it's a shame to see that pit stop cost him the win!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Russell is not happy with Mercedes' decision to pit and he's now over 30 seconds behind Norris 👀 Did they make a mistake pitting him?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

Deffo its another mistake for George to put up with

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

Definitely think they shouldn't have called him in yet, because Norris is absolutely flying at the moment!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Watch the moment Norris lost the lead of the Spanish Grand Prix with his pit stop 🫣 Can he come back from this?

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

A slow stop is just the icing on the cake for that bad decision by McLaren! Really disappointing!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Stroll comes to a stop at Turn 20! Norris misses the pit lane, but Antonelli & Verstappen have changed their tyres! Should McLaren have brought the race leader in on that last lap?

Ferrari also didn't react 👀

seanfisher21d ago

How on earth did Stroll actually end up in the wall? 😂 did he mess up a donut turn? 😂

tyler.rowlinson21d ago

The timing of the VSC was awful but surely McLaren have to keep him out? They’ve just shot themselves in the foot completely, more so by them screwing up the stop!

♥ 1

david.comerford21d ago

Not sure why McLaren brought him in. They should have cancelled the call and extended

Hamilton ignores team orders AGAIN and stays on track despite complaining of brake issues. He's plummeting through the grid, but should he have come into the pits at the end of Lap 5?

aaronmcfairlane20d ago

This is part of Ferrari mishaps as per usual i can see this continuing into 2027

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

He was complaining about his brakes for at least half a lap, I don't get why he didn't box at the end of that lap and kept going. Really stupid.

david.comerford21d ago

Not a great look telling him to stay out just so there wasn't a safety car to compromise Leclerc

Verstappen won't be happy with that radio message 👀 Do you think it was smart for Red Bull to make this call?

david.comerford21d ago

I can see where he's coming from - Hamilton thumped the kerb at turn one and it knocked him off line

T-minus 30 minutes until lights out! Final chance to predict who's making it out of Turn 1 in the lead?

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

I think Kimi might come out ahead here! P2 has looked quite strong at the start!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Ferrari has said they won't impose strict rules between their drivers this weekend, but Rosberg thinks it's a mistake. What do you think?

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

After last weekend's Turn 1 incident and these two lined up together again, I think no team orders is a recipe for disaster! Too early to call one of them being the first to put it into a barrier again today?

In case you missed it, Lando Norris will start the first race at the Madring from pole! Watch how he did it here 📺

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

Brilliant lap from Lando and he had potentially even more in the bank after making that mistake! Will be interesting to see if it's possible to overtake here or if this will be a comfortable third win this year!

Ollie Bearman will start the Spanish Grand Prix from the pit lane after taking a new engine following his FP3 crash yesterday

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

Not too much of change for Ollie considering he didn't take part in qualifying and would have slotted into P21, but it's a shame considering how close both of them had been to the top 10 in FP3!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Here's how the grid will line up for the Spanish Grand Prix! Who could be the biggest mover when the lights go out?

rebecca.braybrook22d ago

Russell really needs to work quickly through this pack! All eyes will be on his performance tomorrow 👀

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Verstappen looked decent all qualifying, but can he defend his podium position during tomorrow's race at the Madring?

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

I think it could be really tricky for anyone to get past him on track. I really think tyre strategy is going to make or break this race

kyle.archer22d ago

Max Verstappen certainly will fancy his chances with his razor-blade elbows around a potentially tricky circuit for overtaking

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Antonelli admits qualifying was "intense" - is a win inevitable from the front row of the grid or can Norris hold him off?

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

Although overtaking will be tough, I think if Antonelli can get passed Norris quickly then the race is his. But we've learnt to not rule out Lando recently...

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Norris thinks that might be his best pole lap ever, do you agree?

rebecca.braybrook21d ago

Really impressive work from Lando! Hard to disagree!

kyle.archer22d ago

It certainly has to be up there

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Lando Norris takes pole for the Spanish Grand Prix but do you think he can convert it into a win? If not, who will and why?

ahambly2322d ago

It will be difficult for Norris considering he's going in blind without any long runs in FP2, but it remains to be seen how easy overtaking is at this circuit.

rebecca.braybrook22d ago

I think it will be tight between Norris and Antonelli tomorrow! But this track does not look good for overtaking so we shall see what happens at lights out!

dereksacre22d ago

Lando will win no problem kimi will crash with vestappen either will Finnish

Albon knocks his teammate out of Q1 by just five thousandths of a second 🫣

rebecca.braybrook22d ago

Less than a tenth between P16 and P18, which is exceptionally tight! Albon needed that though after a rough few races!

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Confirmed: Bearman will not take part in qualifying after his FP3 crash as the rest of the grid begin to peel out of the pit lane

kyle.archer22d ago

Bearman knew just how costly his late crash in FP3 could be... And it turned out to be a huge blow for his weekend

We'll be back for qualifying from 2pm - last chance to make your prediction for Spanish GP pole!

rebecca.braybrook22d ago

It's hard to look past Anotnelli here! Unless we get a chaotic session!
