Manchester United Predicted XI vs Atletico Madrid: What would you change?

Would like to see a Mainoo/ Baleba combo in the middle.

Here we go again an early goal and 1-0 down

I would have liked to have seen Rashford come on for Cunha at about 60 minutes instead of waiting until extra time. Bring Lacey on at 60-75 minutes for Amad. Plan ahead, tell players to give it their all for 60 minutes, don't save it up for 90. With 5 subs, it's possible.

Agree, chucking Rashford on in stoppage time just felt like a desperate move at that point. And it was

I was just writing about the issues, and then immediately after posting you had posted this. You have put exactly what I (and I'm sure thousands of others) am thinking. He needs to take chances. We would prefer he tries and fails rather than do nothing and guarantee failure.

After watching Carrick as a manager over these past several months, I would say that he is overly cautious and traditional. United is still playing a style of football that the better teams were playing a decade or so ago. And with 5 substitutes now available, you can make a change at halftime or bring on a player who can make a difference at 60 minutes.
stephenjholmes13w ago
Unfortunately he isn't playing Uniteds brand of football from any era. The team have been so lethargic. His biggest failure though is his lack of in game management. His substitutions always come too late to get into the game, and are always the wrong ones. He has his nucleus of players that he uses regardless of form.

I would be using Mount instead of Tilemans (if available). Amass instead of Dalot who is a liability. He has zero positional discipline. I would also be giving Lacey minutes regardless of how the game goes. If we need players to come in as starters who have had zero minutes, they can't hit the ground running. We have squads for a reason. MC needs to use it!

Giving Lacey a chance or any youngster a chance it will not happen in MC regime. We have dreaded CB partnership again with a mistake around the corner always.

Might as well try Fernandes up top as a false nine with Tielemans behind him, Cunha and Mbeumo wings and Baleba and Santos as the two. Fernandes is not playing midfield most of the time. Basically an inverted 4 4 2 that keeps Bruno there.
knightinwhitesatin3w ago
We could do with Santos stepping up he seems to have become anonymous he needs to play in games like this to give someone a rest for the league games
matt.suth13w ago
Balaba, Santos, Tielemans as a 3 midfield
dancoombs3w ago
Could be worth a look. Bruno could do with a rest

I agree with this predicted eleven.
melvin.tassell3w ago
Amass at LB and dalot in his best position, give the kid a chance
teufelshund773w ago
Dalots best position is in the carpark, selling scarves
stephenjholmes13w ago
Dalot in his best position is the bench! He is a defensive liability.

Martinez out, Heaven in.
ericbkchirwa3w ago
for me rashford for cucha and sesko for mbeumo 🔥🔥🔥
dancoombs3w ago
Sesko is out with injury again, unfortunately
dale.odonnell3w ago
The only change I would make is Heaven for Maguire.
thetruthpersonified3w ago
Heaven for Martinez surely? It is not Maguire who has made 4 big errors leading to goals this season...
