Manchester United vs AS Roma LIVE UEFA Champions League

dancoombs2d ago

The 6-2 win is underrated we were brilliant that night but sadly no fans in attendance. This latest win was fun for the final 10 minutes - 2007 was 90 minutes of magic

ericisgod662d ago

I thought Dalot was more responsible than Heaven for Roma's first and you could see the energy drain out of the whole team and they were lucky to go in only 2 down. 2nd half started with more intent and you could see them regain confidence shame Baleeba went off but Lacey was excellent as was Cunha. Lets hope they can replicate it against Villa

S

stephenjholmes12d ago

@ericisgod66 Dalot thinks he's a centre forward. He jogged back after losing the ball for the 1st goal. Absolute bag of sh!te. He left Heaven to protect the whole left side on his own. I would rather have my dad start at left back, and he died in 2014. He would still be an upgrade

♡Reply

D

dancoombs2d ago

Dalot was terrible for the first goal but he will still keep his place

♡1Reply

D

dale.odonnell2d ago

Dalot was awful again. It’s worse he’s getting (playing on left possibly contributing to that). Doesn’t defend or attack well enough to be blocking Amass from getting a chance.

♡1Reply

geldroper2d ago

Lacey should start or start in the sec half. Amass should also been given a chance but I do not expect Carrick to do that. He rather plays useless Dalot

pranav.shahaney2d ago

It’s got to be Cunha for me but special praise to Tielemans for turning things around off the bench, much like Lacey

febced12d ago

Cunha deserved MOTM. by a country mile. Shea Lacey was outstanding with his composure on the ball and sublime passing. It was the perfect stage for him tonight.

jonny2d ago

Oh it feels good to have a MOTM poll 🤣 Cunha obviously wins but Lacey was fantastic and should have guaranteed his place ahead of Amad on Sunday!

D

dancoombs2d ago

Lacey showed more in 15 mins or so than Amad has in five games

♡2Reply

callum_boyle2d ago

Cunha should get MOTM but a special mention to Shea Lacey. Thought he was brilliant when he came on and the ball for Cunha’s winner was perfectly executed

S

sdaoulas2d ago

@callum_boyle Totally agree. Another mention to Kobbie. The way he starts the third goal is brilliant, shoes how he understands the game and dictate tempo. Should get more initiatives in next games and become a focal point in the midfield.

♡1Reply

dantowen819512d ago

I have no idea if it’s a turning point - this club has seen more false dawns than most. But my god there’s some quality, quality players in this team! Nice to be reminded of that once in a while

D

dancoombs2d ago

All I wanted was one win. Going to savour it and not even worry about Villa until its here

♡1Reply

stephenjholmes12d ago

It amazes me that Cunya gets all of the credit. As with every game that Shea Lacey has been introduced into, whilst United are losing, Shea gets no credit. Guaranteed he will be back to being an unused sub again when United lose at the weekend!

D

dancoombs2d ago

He has to start this weekend. We were so much better when he came on. Amad too predictable and lacking spark

♡1Reply

caleb.sage2d ago

Much-needed but PL is bread and butter man. Gotta see that kind of fight and energy against Brighton, Hull, Chelsea etc.

dakir.thanveer2d ago

Carrick won't turn anything around with Dalot at left-back (or anywhere in the XI)

peter.lynch2d ago

A stunning turnaround but sadly I don’t think it does a whole lot for Carrick in all honesty. Might save him some more time, but I think the writing is already on the wall

jackgallagher2d ago

Could be but the defending still needs to improve. Match winners up top but need to defend well enough to give Cunha and co. a chance to go win games

D

dancoombs2d ago

I quite enjoyed seeing De Ligt on at the end and him clearing the box. Hopefully he is fit to play a bigger part

♡Reply

seanfisher2d ago

All it needed was that first goal. You could actually see the difference it made to everything. It’s crazy how much confidence and momentum matters in football

jordan.harris2d ago

I can definitely see this buying Carrick a lot longer, but remain pessimistic about the direction the club is going in

charlesjones2d ago

I can’t see Carrick surviving the season but this has bought him maybe a bit of time

chillout2d ago

I’m not sure it will make much difference (although I hope it will). This club don’t do sentimentality - Van Gaal was fired two days after winning the FA Cup. Ten Hag went 156 days after winning the sand trophy.

dale.odonnell2d ago

What a story it will be if Carrick can turn it around (again).

don5977532d ago

We can all see dalots performance don't tell me amass wouldn't be an improvement

D

dancoombs2d ago

Absolutely. Give him a chance!

♡1Reply

geldroper2d ago

Maybe if Carrick would do the same with Amass but I would be suprized if Lacey is on the team against Aston Villa. Amass should be there for the sec half

pranav.shahaney2d ago

Can’t have one game where United go down 2-0 at home after 20 minutes and then turn things around in the second half be a justification for Carrick to say. United are in a relegation battle and Carrick’s only here because the owners are too cheap and don’t really have a Plan B

febced12d ago

It's not a turning point,as it was a once-off. Let's see what happens this weekend when motivation levels plunge.

D

dancoombs2d ago

I think scepticism is fair based on how consistently bad we have been this season

♡Reply

jonny2d ago

Brilliant, it just can’t be a one off. Means nothing if we lose on Sunday

callum_boyle2d ago

That felt like the Man United of old with the noise of the stadium and the late comeback. Obviously papers over a lot of cracks but players like Cunha are the ones who care and ones to put your faith in. Like Carrick so I’m delighted for him more than anyone else

D

dancoombs2d ago

The noise was incredible after we pulled it back to 2-1

♡Reply

dancoombs2d ago

Wow. Exactly what we needed! Well done lads. I was ready to give up!

dale.odonnell2d ago

The response we’ve wanted for some time. Brilliant second half.

mohan183102d ago

No come back on cards, even if we score the penalty

stephenjholmes12d ago

I think they will all be giving each other high 5's at half time. Well done lads, it's 2-0. We've got them well and truly on the ropes!

dale.odonnell2d ago

It’s been so flat. Another dire display. Lazy from the players.

D

dancoombs2d ago

Worst United team I have ever seen

♡Reply

ssahibdeen82d ago

I wish Bruno would stop complaining and focus on motivating the players who are clearly in a rut. Thats a captain’s responsibility.

E

epi2media2d ago

There is no semblence of a football team. Watching Villa at Barcelona, I really feel sorry for fans traveling to OT on Sunday. Playing like this Utd can easily be relegated if they were in League Two. Players can't even control the ball on their home turf🤔And Bruno, oh dear!

♡Reply

S

seanfisher2d ago

His head is just completely scrambled I think. Probably wishing he left in the summer

♡Reply

kierandoody2d ago

Still can’t get over that first goal tbh, 7-a-side U8s hold their shape better than that down my local park on a Sunday morning.

pranav.shahaney2d ago

Every game is worse than the previous one. No organisation in defence. Bruno having to drop as deep as the last defender because nobody is capable to run the game. What are Carrick and his staff doing in training, I’ll never know

D

dancoombs2d ago

Can’t see any positives right now

♡Reply

seanfisher2d ago

So so bad it’s hard to even know what to blame. Like… what do you fix first when everything is broken? 😂

S

stephenjholmes12d ago

We could start with a defensive performance. To draw 0-0 would be the perfect start. Learn to keep a clean sheet, then progress from there.

♡Reply

S

stephenjholmes12d ago

How about the starting individuals who never carry out their primary role. Dalot is the whole reason we are 2 down

♡1Reply

ssahibdeen82d ago

Heavens has been awful whenever he’s been given the opportunity.

S

stephenjholmes12d ago

The reason Heavens been awful is because he is having to protect the whole left side of the defence on his own.

♡Reply

D

dancoombs2d ago

He has been very poor this season, every time he has played

♡Reply

stephenjholmes13d ago

Funny enough he was having a break When Dalot lost the ball up field 5 minutes ago, he just literally walked back whilst Bruno had to try and retrieve the situation. I said at the start of the game, Play with Dalot at LB, might as well start with 10 men.

adnan.riaz3d ago

Amass is sat on the bench...

don5977533d ago

I'd like to see amass and lacey on left giving some difference to a mundane attack

A

adnan.riaz3d ago

@don597753, we wish. It's not going to happen under Carrick by the way things have gone.

♡1Reply

D

dancoombs3d ago

I’m glad Amass has at least made the bench tonight. I think Lacey has a better chance of coming on though, let’s hope

♡2Reply

dale.odonnell3d ago

Mainoo and Baleba starting together for the first time. 👍

A

adnan.riaz3d ago

@dale.odonnell, it's the hope that kills ya.

♡Reply

jonny3d ago

I like the team, have a weird feeling we’re winning 4-1 tonight 👊

A

adnan.riaz3d ago

@jonny

♡Reply

D

dancoombs3d ago

We always smash Roma at home

♡2Reply

seanfisher3d ago

Exactly as predicted. Excited to see the midfield… please just win 😭

A

adnan.riaz3d ago

@seanfisher, Baleba and Mainoo might be the spark we've missed. I'm trying to stay optimistic.

♡Reply

dancoombs3d ago

I like the team, although need to see how back four lines up. Great to see Mainoo back

A

adnan.riaz3d ago

@dancoombs, Star Boy is BACK!

♡1Reply

gazsav20093d ago

Seriously need them to show that they want to play for Man Utd, at the moment there get up and go attacking style, has got up and gone. There’s no passion or belief in themselves.

S

stephenjholmes13d ago

If you're suggesting that the 1st team starting 11 has to show some desire in order to keep their places, they haven't shown any pride or desire for months, yet they still get to start every game. The youngsters would give more in the first 10 minutes, than the superstars have given in the last 10 games, and yet they still get overlooked. SAF must be fuming!

♡Reply

mrmikeharlnd23d ago

I like the lacey thing. That would be a cool move

stephenjholmes13d ago

Getrid of Dalot for Amass, and Amad for Lacey. This is pretty much a carbon copy of the 11 who have done nothing all season. Yes playing Kobbie with Carlos should help, but we need to start scoring goals. Lacey adds a dimension to the play which is always missing. Unpredictability. Michael is digging his own grave at the moment. Time to be brave.

G

geldroper3d ago

@stephenjholmes1 I agree How can De Light not be there. But you know that he is going to play his favorite Martinez so he can again have a own goal. Hope they fire him this week

♡1Reply

granitegraham3d ago

Probably change Heaven for DeLigt, pretty happy with the rest.

D

dancoombs3d ago

If De Ligt is truly ready to play - he looked well short v Como - then I’d be happy to see him

♡1Reply

paule75533d ago

Martinez in for heaven

G

geldroper3d ago

@paule7553 Are u crazy. De light with Maquirre and Amass for Dalot. Lacey for Amad this is the only way but Carrick is hopefully get fired today. His hatred of our under 21 is the main reason he should be gone.He is worse then Ruben. At least Ruben told us he didn't want them. Carrick keeps telling us stories.

♡Reply

deansexton463d ago

never say never though

deansexton463d ago

it's a wonder wilkox haven't bought o goalkeeper to play as a striker

seanfisher3d ago

Still a bit wobbly about Heaven but can’t trust Licha so I guess he’s in. Would love to see Baleba and Mainoo together

don5977533d ago

Well it's quite obvious to me mbeumo is not the answer up front so if zirkzee can be thrown on for 10 mins give him 90 lets be honest what harm could it be

dancoombs3d ago

Call me mad… I actually would start Zirkzee in this game - try something different. Front three of Cunha, Zirkzee, Mbeumo

chillout3d ago

What wouldn’t Carrick give for a repeat tonight.

D

dancoombs3d ago

Just a 1-0 would do…

♡1Reply

thetruthpersonified3d ago

Alan Smith. Returned from his horror injury, scored and was the terrier for which he was known. Was pleased to see him return from such an injury and hoped was launch pad for him...

D

dancoombs3d ago

Smith was great in that game. As good as it got. How we could do with a throwback old school striker like that now…

♡1Reply

jonathan.gorrie3d ago

Loved the Carrick goal! Shame he can't play Tuesday 😂

D

dancoombs3d ago

He should be showing the team the video of this game. Absolutely incredible night, I wish I was there - just remember going crazy in a bar watching it in disbelief at how good we were
