Too many mistakes today rather than systemic issues I'd say. Switched off for both goals and gave the ball away too easily to build any momentum. Gerrard is right - we need more bite and nastiness. Let's see how the rest of the window goes. I'd keep Gakpo because we really lack depth.

Andoni Iraola's search for a first Premier League win goes on. What positives are you taking from that display? 🤔
david.comerford36d ago
Isak, Munoz and Wirtz goal contributions are positive, actually think the performance was weaker than last week tho!
callum_boyle36d ago
Iraola doesn’t seem to start too well in his roles but grows into them. A lot of turmoil at Liverpool but one positive is definitely seeing Wirtz and Havertz show some signs

Very similar story as last week. Slight improvement today, and we looked most likely as the game went on. We’ve been poor but the Invincible season is still on 👀 😂

What an equaliser that is! Great ball from Wirtz, great turn and strike from Munoz, 2-2 with 10 or so minutes to play. We couldn’t, could we?
samc36d ago
This is how we need to be playing; passing with urgency, high intensity pressing, this is the Liverpool we know
nervy end to the half, we grew into the game but i’m still not confident in the defence

Between 1977 and 1981, Liverpool and Nottingham Forest collectively won five consecutive European Cups.
peter.lynch37d ago
And Liverpool have won a few more since then 😉
Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Anfield on December 9, 1978, halted Forest’s legendary 42-game unbeaten league run.
james.brooke38d ago
Was only ever going to be one team to end it
On October 24th, 1998, 18-year old Michael Owen scored four goals in a 5-1 thrashing of Forest at Anfield.
james.brooke38d ago
Some player! Imagine how much he’d be worth today after doing that at 18

What would your reaction be to Andoni Iraola naming this Liverpool team against Nottingham Forest?
Victor Munoz for Rio Ngumoha would be the only change...
samc37d ago
I'm surprised to see Gakpo on the right, Slot wouldn't dare
peter.lynch37d ago
Get Mac Allister back in and try Szobo on the right… and please get anyone in for Kerkez 😭
james.brooke38d ago
I’d definitely be getting Mac Allister back in for Gravenberh, but I can’t see him doing it. Would be fine with this otherwise, but Munoz definitely has to start, especially up against Neco Williams. Right footed right winger against the right footed left back spells trouble for Forest!

Which two players should make up Liverpool's midfield pair against Nottingham Forest?
Ryan Gravenberch struggled against Newcastle, which could allow Trey Nyoni or Alexis Mac Allister to come in
peter.lynch37d ago
Mac Allister and Gravenberch, need to win that battle… get Szobo higher up where he can cause real damage
james.brooke38d ago
Mac Allister and Szoboszlai for me. I like Gravenberch but let's try how a different pair get on. Thought Mac looked good against Newcastle when he came on and Gravenberch obviously didn't have his best game. Szoboszlai wasn't great either, but he has to be in the team

What does Andoni Iraola need to do differently for Liverpool to get three points against Nottingham Forest
The Reds have lost the last two against Forest at Anfield
samc37d ago
come on Wirtzzzz

There was a good question in the press conference about whether there was an overreaction to last week. I missed the game live so saw the reaction before I watched it. We looked a fair bit better than the noise suggested. Clearly some areas to work on but that's to be expected. Cautiously optimistic going into Saturday
james.brooke38d ago
I'd make three changes: Araujo for Frimpong, Mac Allister for Gravenberch and Munoz for Ngumoha. In terms of tactics, I think we actually played pretty well at Newcastle on the whole. Would like to see some faster decisions made in the final third though
Alexis. Mac. Alister.

Little man for the big occasion
I have to say as well there was one player that I've seen people clamoring online and that is Nunez. I was always against selling him because even if he does miss a boatload of chance he does a lot of other things at a top level. He's a threat which actively creates opportunities for others not to mention he's versatile.
colinroy1537d ago
Selling Gakpo would be as daft as it was selling Diaz last year.
nikforrester3224d ago
I would much rather have him on the left that Cody "It's time to cut in and shoot" Gakpo
Does anyone know why every time we play these low level Premier League teams we struggle.
nikforrester3224d ago
I'm more scared of Leeds than I am Arsenal

Thing is how good are these wins actually. At this point I'm Slot out because I don't see long term success under him. I do believe he deserves until the end of the season to at least try to prove otherwise but if not come June bring Xabi Alonso in.
nikforrester3224d ago
People forget the ex-player impact too look at Carrick at United. This is a time where we desperately need a new path froward with an again generation of players and frankly Alonso is a more proven example of that

Change my mind Rio Ngumoha was Liverpool's star man despite barely playing vs Forest
Can anyone take the MOM award off him? Have your say!
huttunenantti76223d ago
He should play regulary, he is ready, Salah is no use To us
catz2271224d ago
Slot had a fantastic title winning team last season and rather than replacing a couple of players that wanted to transfer out like Trent they chose to gut the team. Klopp showed us his passion for the players and fans and club. Slot gave up on the team after the first handful of matches and doesn't seem to have a clue what he's doing
natalia.sltysk224d ago
Rio was brilliant but overall VVD deserves it.

WOW! Three words to sum up that crazy end to the game...
BIG three points!

What a relief

Surely there's no way back to Salah's best from here?
A new record drought in the Premier League...
broo1850221d ago
Slot needs to drop Salah and play anyone in his place because anyone would be better than Salah

jemanoil223d ago
Hopefully he can have an impact for the rest of the season but either way he has to go. He has been a liability this year because he loses possession so often it kills any momentum we try to get. I do not see this changing any time soon and I do not want to be resentful to such a great player and important part of Liverpool fc.

peter.lynch224d ago
Decision making is just so bizarre... still have hope for him though, just needs to find his feet and I think he will
oh thank god for that
nikforrester3224d ago
At this point I'm not sure it's even a good thing I don't want results to cover for the manager's consistent mishaps.

You can make just one change to Arne Slot's XI to face Forest☝️
Who, and why?
aaronmcfairlane224d ago
Gakpo bench rio in
Also Curtis Jones above McAllister
samgcoles02224d ago
id probably move wirtz out left and have both jones and macca play in midfield

You get to add one Nottingham Forest player to Liverpool's squad, who you picking and why?
nikforrester3224d ago
Got to be Murillo or Anderson. Both somewhat unsung heroes that do a lot of the dirty work.
samgcoles02224d ago
with the current rigjt back situation, probably Nico, it would be nice to see him back, he’s become a quality rigjt back
eoin224d ago
rather Anderson to Gibbs-White, don't need another attacking mid
We need to go more attacking than this, szobo at right back again and Salah in for Gomez
tsouthern580226d ago
Are you okay?? Sob at right back is a pure waste. Its like playing wirtz at holding midfield

Anyone else getting that sinking feeling ahead of Sunday?
Why are we SO bad against Forest?
eoin226d ago
Some individual brilliance will decide it, hopefully from a Liverpool player
josh.barker227d ago
Slot never beat Forest either
♥ 1
james.brooke227d ago
This record would look a lot better if Forest had been playing Premier League football more regularly, but it is still a bizarre one. Really need to buck the trend on Sunday

Got a horrible feeling Slot is going to keep Gakpo in the XI and drop Salah 😬 Who should be the front four vs Forest?
aaronmcfairlane224d ago
If slot drops mo and use gakpo then its definitely time for him to go
laungharrymorley225d ago
Mo Salah should be play first on the right wing and Gakpo should on the substitute bench.
ayindebiodun1977225d ago
Drop Gakpo. Wirtz on the left, Szoboszlai on salah's position, jones plays with Gravenberch while Mac Allister plays behind Ekitike

Start, bring on, leave on the bench vs Forest... ✅🔄🪑
eoin227d ago
This is a tricky tie for a young midfielder, so on that basis alone start Rio. Would love to see a Morrison cameo if the game allows for it
anthonygrady657228d ago
Sonny lambe
james.brooke228d ago
Maybe I'm in the minority but Ngumoha doesn't excite me. I'd rather see what Morrison can do or give Trey a run in midfield.
