What does Liam Lawson need to do in Madrid to make his Red Bull stint a success?

skshaggis3w ago

The fact that Liam is driving for the senior team tempoorarily shows that the company believes he can do the job for them. His performance for them so far has been such that they've obtained to place him in that car.

Keep doing what he has done all year,he shouldn't be under pressure he's scored l.ot of points put racing bulls in a strong 5th place, what more does he have to do.seems to me if the face don't fit you ain't gotta chance

By at least 30 seconds I'd say

Go Liam, you can do it!!!

Go Liam, you can do it!!!

LIAM gotta get every ounce of performance from this red bull RB22 Given his pace at the last gp and a little more tweets to his car there is a real opportunity to get a load of points, just keep out of trouble

david.comerford3w ago

Agree, this race in particular could see a surprise podium finisher đź‘€

ronswenson3w ago

Ralph is clearly on another planet ... As has been pointed out there are millions at stake for Racing bulls and the difference between 5th and 6th is $9 million, Lawson has provided 70% of racing bulls points, why would they jeopardise that by dropping him for anyone? Nuts!

mattshark113w ago

P8 or better. I'm sure if he does get say p7 Ralf Schumacher will be there to tell us how much better Mick was tho.

boflit3w ago

anything Ralf says is irrelevant, he was hardly an F1 success, the original Sir Crashalot too, must be where Mick gets it from, Uncle Ralf.

cy.woolstonwalker3w ago

Do the same & avoid “make Hulk mad!” or similar again. Mekies was telling him they were on pace for P6/P7 if he didn’t go grass cutting thanks to Nico… and if that had happened from the back of the grid it would have deserved immense adulation - but wouldn’t of in the media of course.

david.comerford3w ago

As long as he impresses Red Bull, that's all that matters

czechfog18363w ago

A top 7 finish would be very good. I hope he does not get caught in someone else's wreck. This could easily become a wreck fest.

ronswenson3w ago

He certainly have had one battle after another since arriving at F1. Didn’t break him, contrary it has steeled him. He just need to keep doing what he is doing. Madding will be a demanding track for all. Could be some carnage

david.comerford3w ago

Not crashing could automatically make it a good weekend for him!

brake3w ago

A clean run to P8 or higher. I don't recall any time this season where a 'non clean run' was of Lawson's own making. Could stand to be corrected?

david.comerford3w ago

P8 is the bare minimum on a normal weekend given the field spread this year

walkercharlie8283w ago

Solid points and a few tenths off max. Think he's done very well so far

kyle.archer3w ago

Was Liam Lawson's cameo for Red Bull not already a success after his performance at Zandvoort? Sure, Monza did not go to plan, but he was carrying a grid penalty and was blocked by Oscar Piastri in Q2, and his race unravelled after an incident with Nico Hulkenberg

vancehib3w ago

Agree not his doing re engine swap amd that immediately put him on the back foot in someone else's car

david.comerford3w ago

Assuming this is his final race (which I think it will be), I think he just needs to repeat his Zandvoort qualifying pace. If we finally get a clear comparison with Verstappen in the race, that will offer the clearest picture
