The 2027 F1 calendar is here, with Monaco one of 10 Sprint races! What do you think of the schedule?

The situation in the Middle East is so unstable I worry the first two races don’t even go ahead and we have to wait to April for the first race

A Monaco sprint is perhaps the most baffling call from the officials in recent years and think of the ground that covers!

A sprint race in Monaco!? Am I missing something here… how’s that gonna work

The drivers will put on their track shoes and sprint from the back of the grid to the finish line at St Devote. You may see some overtaking, especially from those with sharp elbows. Ferrari would of course fail to tie their driver’s shoe laces properly.

Wayyyyy too many sprints for me

I 100% agree! Six felt bearable but 10 just feels like far too many!

In a single sentence It's money driven manufactured entertainment From increased sprints, their positioning on the calendar, and Monaco getting one, it's clear where the priorities lie. Looking forward to hearing Max's views on it!

Apparently "75% of fans believe Sprint events add greater value to a season’s calendar" accourding to F1. I'd love to know who they asked because I see more negativity around them than positive comments! It feels very much like a money grab!

The more sprint races the merrier, but does Monaco need to be one? Outside of the views it is the most boring race on the calendar. Sprint will be no different

Does Monaco class as a race? Apart from qualifying there’s more action in the casinos.

I don't know what to make of Abu Dhabi being a Sprint weekend. On one hand, it should make for a really exciting finale if we have a title fight that goes down to the wire, but on the other, it would be crap to have the championship decided on a Saturday morning...
rebecca.braybrook2w ago
What a flat end to a season, if it gets decided on the Saturday Sprint of the season finale 🥱

Was thinking It would be fun to go to Madrid Next year, but not sure after watching at the weekend. Track needs fixing

What do they think is going to happen in the Monaco sprint???? Dreadful decision unless they’re planning on changing things dramatically
rebecca.braybrook2w ago
The perk is double qualifying (the best bit of a Monaco weekend)! I guess it gives the weekend something new to all the Monaco haters?
rebecca.braybrook2w ago
Not sure how I feel about the increase in Sprint race weekends! I also understand that they're trying to make the calendar more geo-located for the climate but losing Australia as the opener for Bahrain feels disappointing!
george.patten2w ago
I personally prefer Bahrain as a season opener tbh. Think it’s a better track for racing most of the time.

That Monaco decision is absolutely laughable. I thought it was a joke when I first read it. I also think 10 Sprints is too many to be honest. Wouldn't have done more than eight. They've clearly tried to create title drama by handing out extra points at three of the last four rounds. On the positive side, Turkey and Portugal are great additions

I think its the same reason the football calendar seems to get busier every season, looking to squeeze every penny they can.

Just to make the argument for a Monaco sprint- it's the best quali of the year, and now we get two!
jamesshearman232w ago
Why not just sack off the race and make quail worth points
rebecca.braybrook2w ago
I hadn't considered that! I thought it was an interesting choice to put Monaco as a Sprint weekend but doubling the quali madness sounds like a great idea!
