Jamie Chadwick has completed a TPC test with Williams at Portimao - Will F1 ever have a female driver? And if so, when?

Women’s in F1 is a delicate topic so I will try to not offend anyone here. But the reality is not a single women until now has been capable of finishing a season in a decent way.

…. Until now. 🤔

Sure there will be females driving.. it’s a frustratingly slow process to get there though. They need the backing and solid results, F3, F2 .. but there is no other reason why not… then there could be a female world champion .. that would be great to see. Drawback for men and women is that it will be even harder to get one of the 20 odd seats!

Yeah I think once the funding and backing comes in for those starting at a young age it’s a matter of time until we see a woman world champion

I'm curious of the time she set... if she ran within the 107% time for the track, she deserves every opportunity to at least do an FP1 session to gain experience... not for publicity but for opportunity and evaluation... baby steps first before you walk...

As long the level of exposure continues it'll only be a matter of time before women are driving f1 cars again.

It’s great to finally see Jamie get a modern F1 drive after the many years of work with the team! I think it’s a matter of when not if now.

Eventually, a female driver will race in Formula 1 again. But Jamie Chadwick is living proof of the challenges that have prevented a very, very talented female driver from reaching F1.

I’m sure they will, just hope it’s for the right reasons and on merit. Otherwise whoever it is will get slated for every little mistake they make.
