Is F1 oversaturating the sport with too many races next season and asking too much of its drivers and teams?
The 2027 season will feature a total of 34 races, including sprints!

From a competition standpoint, the sprints are useless. They keep the crowds attending the race weekends amused and the promoters sell more Friday and Saturday tickets, so they may become the new normal. But will there be 24 race weekends in 2027? Too soon to tell.

Fans always have the choice not to watch, it's the team personnel I feel most sorry for, particularly the smaller teams who can't really rotate staff

17 would be better, one race every 20 days, more time to reset for drivers, more time to get things sorted for teams, and time for fans to breath and work up to it and get excited.

I'm not a huge fan of the maximalist approach Formula 1 officials have taken with the product over the last few years. Like Rebecca mentioned above, you're risking not only the drivers' health, safety, and overall levels, but also pushing the audience into a fatigue with the amount of content to consume. Surely, we can keep it to five sprint races a season.

Limiting the sprint races also gives them more heft and importance, as those points could end up proving far more valuable in both championship races.

Personally I think this is far too much for drivers and teams but even more so, I think this runs a huge risk of fatigue with fans. We're already seeing this happening and I can't help but think this might push more people away.

There were only 17 races during Hamilton's rookie season in 2007. Of course, 10 will be shorter-format races next year, but for the schedule to double in the space of 20 years is mental.
