Cristian Romero has finally got his move! What are your thoughts on this deal?
kyle.dimond1mo ago
Think they’ll be better off without him and this move makes all the sense in the world. Glad to see him gone from the league, always entertaining apart from when I’d watch and he’d become an absolute brick wall
james.brooke1mo ago
Every Spurs fan today. No more brain dead decisions from their ‘captain’. Sad day for rivals though, could always rely on a Romero moment of madness to help you through a game against Spurs

dantowen819511mo ago
Honestly one of the worst captains I’ve ever come across 😂
jonathan.gorrie1mo ago
Good riddance, was a disgrace last year.
vatsal1mo ago
The fee is ridiculously cheap. He's class and will make this fee look even more ridiculous in a few years. Got what he wanted. A cheap move after downing tools.
jonny1mo ago
The perfect move for him, surprised by the fee. Feel he could have gone for a lot more had he not kamikaze’d his Spurs career
tom.procter1mo ago
Maybe Spurs could have got more but sometimes it gets to a point where you just need to get somebody out. Romero and Atletico are a match made in heaven
jamesshearman231mo ago
I’d have taken him at Chelsea for that fee. We just sold Chalobah for 30 + add-ons
johnverrall111mo ago
Good riddance. Shame the fee wasn’t a bit higher but he needed to go. One of the most overrated defenders I’ve seen, who only seems to care about Argentina. He’ll fit right in under Simeone at Atletico
dancoombs1mo ago
Is it good that he hasn’t gone to Arsenal or would he actually have done more damage to them by joining?
seanfisher1mo ago
The most Atletico-coded player of all time, he's going to thrive there I think. Spurs should definitely be getting more for him
peter.lynch1mo ago
A superb decision from Spurs, and for me that’s one of the more normal fees of this window, makes sense
josh.barker1mo ago
Best business spurs have done this summer
charlesjones1mo ago
What a strange chapter of Tottenham’s history. Romero was always hyped as being something he wasn’t. They’ll be better off without him
leeclarke05081mo ago
The worst captain in the club's history. A complete and utter liability.
tyler.rowlinson1mo ago
Good riddance. Great player on his day but De Zerbi needs to get rid of the toxic atmosphere at the club. Romero’s too unreliable and that’s not what Spurs need
kierandoody1mo ago
Personally, will miss the guaranteed yellow card bet on my Super Sunday bet builders 🥹
dakir.thanveer1mo ago
Perfect Atletico player if there ever was one
shamanth.jayaram1mo ago
Definitely should've got more, but Spurs fans should be happy he's gone. Extremely overrated, unreliable and toxic. He'll do well under Simeone though
jameslloyd14.jl1mo ago
The right time to move on but I can’t help but feel the fee’s a little cheap?
brogan1mo ago
Again, wished for more on the fee but good riddance. A complete liability of a player outside of his time under Ange. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out
jackdrury1mo ago
Think Spurs could’ve got more if he didn’t down tools, but they look absolutely fine at the back for next season
kyle.archer1mo ago
The fee that Tottenham are receiving to sell Romero seems cheap for a defender who some claim to be world-class...
martin.crawford1mo ago
Excellent signing for Atletico, world class defender and born winner
chillout1mo ago
It’s the end of a toxic saga. Although he is a world class defender on his day, Spurs are getting a fair amount of dosh for someone who has a dodgy disciplinary record and who seems injury prone - and who wants out - so this a good outcome. Good that he didn’t end up at Arsenal too.
caleb.sage1mo ago
£34m is not a good deal for Spurs. He’s gone for significantly less than Van Hecke and Lacroix, who are inferior defenders. Simeone won’t care about his disciplinary record, Atleti should be paying much more.
freddie1mo ago
Spurs needed to get rid of the egos and toxicity and he is the biggest culprit of that! Fee is small tho, could have EASILY got £50m+, but tbh it’s just good to see he’s gone. We all know he’s going to say something in the next few months about Spurs tho 👀
dantowen819511mo ago
I think the fee is reflective of the fact that both Romero and the club felt it was time to part ways I don’t think Tottenham really wanted to keep an unhappy Romero at the club, given his tendency to be very outspoken
