What did you think of Bradley Barcola's Liverpool debut against Ipswich?

The Frenchman could get his first start against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday

kilham.max3w ago

Yeah, solid. Looked some player. Clearly a masterful dribbler!

freddie4w ago

Showed some nice touches and will be nice to see him when he’s allowed to fully sttack

jordan.ellis4w ago

Some really nice moments. The most exciting bit was when he sprinted in being - guy is rapid. Only negative I saw was his starting position was quite deep which meant he was out of position for potential counters

Was hoping he'd get stuck in a bit more but he looked good when he got on the ball. Will be interesting to see how he copes in a more intense game, especially after no preseason minutes

I thought we played well in the match, I thought Araujo done well at right back far better than that bomb scare Frimpong,, I thought Gapko and isak where immense as the defence was better organised, Barcola showed glimpses of what he can do and he will make us a stronger unit, but Frimpong has to stay out of the team and get sold in January

james.brooke4w ago

Good analysis Keith. I think everyone is on the same page about Frimpong now, including the manager. Maybe it'll give him a kick up the backside, but he just doesn't look like a Liverpool player. I'd put Kerkez in there as well, I'd even be tempted to go with Araujo at RB and Gomez at LB when Joe is fit, what do you think?

I’m going to Anfield next week. Very scared about what he will do to Fulham

james.brooke4w ago

Nice! Arbeloa should get a decent welcome, was underrated for us. You've always put up a good fight at Anfield recently, I'd still be expecting something similar

There were a number of positive takeaways from the match. Only one little niggle though, VVD still has that odd lapse of falling into the bad habit of slowing the game down. The other positive is Alison's improved distribution.

Lively without being spectacular but who actually likes going to Ipswich he'll be class for the Pool.

james.brooke4w ago

Haha very true, from Paris to Ipswich - culture shock!

jonathan.gorrie4w ago

Unwise to get too carried away but very promising

james.brooke4w ago

Looked so lively. We could have set him away a couple of times and didn’t, which was annoying. Everything he does is so clean, just wish we’d got the ball to him a little bit more. So much to be positive about after that, what a change!

Lots of overall positives from the match. I noticed one flaw from the past, VVD slips into the old habit of occasionally slowing the game down then suddenly realizes "That's not how we play now". Alison's distribution is also improved. Passing across the back used to set my nerves on edge.
