What did you make of Viktor Hovland avoiding a penalty at the Tour Championship?

The Norwegian appeared to brush the sand with his club during the final round...

Another gutless PGA tour call.

I watched the video and it wasn't clear that he had touched the sand. Just like replays in other sports, there has to be conclusive evidence to rule against the standing situation.

There was definitely an impression in the sand. I agree there’s a lot of scrutiny on these guys already, but he definitely grounded his club in the bunker. How can you not penalize him for that after some others called this year? Fair is fair. The worst part is that Viktor had to know he did it and didn’t call the penalty on himself! Questions his character.

Agree with that completely. They are going to be in big trouble if they start introducing a grey area to a very simple rule

He was not given a penalty by the official on site and that should have been the end of it. None of this replaying the situation over and over again. Let the official/referee onsite do his job not worrying about people second guessing him. If I was him I wouldn't do the job again.

I agree. Too much over analysis of everything today. I also didn’t think it was a penalty.

Definite penalty for me. I think the PGA Tour didn’t want to make the right decision and overshadow the tournament

Only the wrong guys get penalized by Natj. There is a clear impression in the sand you only ignore if you want to.

He definitely brushed the sand imo. Should have been a penalty
