Woods - Hogan - Jack - Jones - Snead... Walter Hagen should be ahead of Player. Hagen is one of the most underrated players of all time. He was the first American to win The Open, and won it 4x. Five PGA Championships, and five Western Opens (which was like a major back then). He was a six time Ryder Cup captain, and won 11 majors.

Hogan, Byron Nelson, Saracen, Jones immediately come to mind but it depends on how to quantify it. His impact on the game doesn’t jump out at me. Again, I’m probably adding his personality into the equation. His self aggrandizement always bothered me. And the stunt at the Masters by his son left a bad taste in my mouth. I believe that was the venue.

It does actually, Phil is a top 10 all time player imo now you mention his name. Truly incredible career that he doesn’t get enough credit for due to the controversy he’s been involved in over the past few years

Well, reluctantly I concur he’s one of the greatest ever. Never much of a fan as I thought his outward persona was always so self-absorbed. Because he craves attention it has been himself who has been outspoken about his greatness and that’s never a good look. That said, his accomplishments are many and deserve respect and recognition. Third greatest? Nah.

I think he really is a love or hate character. I have to say I love him personally! As for where he ranks in the best golfers of all time, I’d say fourth or fifth.

Somewhere between 5-8 I think. Woods, Nicklaus, Hogan, Jones is the top four and then I have Gary battling with Palmer and Hagen
