A GOALKEEPER SIGNS! What are your first thoughts on Chelsea signing Emi Martinez? 🥳

Comes with lots of experience. Good signing. 👍🏽

Martinez is better than Sanchez, but Chelsea defensive problems are more than the goalkeeper. Today, Chelsea defeated Brigton & Hove, but they still conceded 3 goals. You can't beat the likes of Arsenal and Man City playing defense like that. Look as how Spain won the World Cup with a below average goalkeeper.

He will bring strength and experience to the goalkeeper position. Great signing

Heard that he came to Chelsea with a salary cut. He is full of desire for trophies, a real excellent player.

This is God sent,Chelsea is going for the trophies. Amen

A brilliant signing, finally after 2 years of the fans, pundits and media telling Chelsea to sign a new keeper. Sanchez done his best but every great save was undone by a careless mistake.

Come on, haven't we fans been wanting change since Mendy fell off a cliff during that Leeds game. Sanchez was a stop gap as BlueCo wanted to move on any players connected to a successful Chelsea team. Unfortunately when the opportunities came along the 'Brighton' algorithms said no. Raya was available that window and look where he is now

Martinez is definitely a leap above what we have, however, when will he be available to play... doesn't he have a broken finger or something like that?

It’s a massive upgrade for Chelsea I love all the signings I’m seeing this season

What a timely deal!, the signing should be immediate!. We were lucky to have run away with a win with Fulham!. Sanchez caused the 2 goals and would have caused the equalizer by unnecessarily coming out of his goal line!!!!. The Fulham attacker was under pressure from our defenders and not a clinical finisher to have lopped the ball over Sanchez head.

Fewer mistakes

An upgrade, but think it’ll still mean Penders takes over in a year or two. Have never been fully convinced by Martinez and think he’ll be found out a little bit under the spotlight at Chelsea. There’s a reason it has taken him this long to leave Villa

Had to be done

At last some common sense about time

it's a v smart move to put pedigree keeper into the squad, not just for maintaining the minimum PL defensive standard ( defence looks frail and inexperienced tbh) but for passing on knowledge to the support keepers. A weakness for last 4 seasons.

At last! Now I can stop feeling guilty for complaining about poor old Robert!

Top notch goalkeeper of world class level.

He has enough confidence and experienced. Also a mentor for Penders.

badger.prodder1mo ago

Only thing with this, all though a good signing and hopefully a mentor for Penders. Where does Sharman-Lowe fit in with all this. Does he stay, and like Penders be mentored to become our second choice or is he moved on and Sanchez is kept.

philchristie19551mo ago

Good move as interim cover while Penders gains experience
