What do you make of the criticism Cole Palmer has faced since withdrawing from the England squad?

Rio Ferdinand is still a fan!

djreal88881d ago

Nobody in England care to know how he felt when he was left out of World Cup Squards. The Coach claimed that are better options in his place. Where are those options now? He should go for those options

cristiannnica11h ago

Totally agree with you, all the "experts" didn't comment when he was left out of the world cup squad in an unfair manner.

patrickwalton843d ago

And Chelsea as well

patrickwalton843d ago

Well I say let's Cole Palmer back in the squad for England player for good

sucinahooks5d ago

Well done Palmer, stay fit, Chelsea first.

josh.barker5d ago

Seems a bit over the top, his focus should be Chelsea now, not pointless friendlies under a manager who clearly doesn’t like him anyway

ronniemcmahon665d ago

That presenter on sky should focus on his man city cheating rather than pick cole out

johnverrall115d ago

Shouldn’t play for England for a while now. Shown his true colours with this move. If he was so concerned about his minutes, maybe he shouldn’t have started vs Luton

sucinahooks5d ago

All Chelsea players true colour should be blue!

edd5d ago

It should be seen as a honour to represent your country, but if your heart isn't it then it's hard to give 100%. One player doesn't make or break a team (unless your Messi)

caleb.sage5d ago

Tuchel🤡, I’m sure Palmer has been pulling out of England squads to concentrate on Chelsea’s battle for 10th place😂

peter.lynch5d ago

Not a great look when you don’t choose to represent your country, but I get that Palmer wants to keep himself fit for club level, his choice ultimately and that should be that

tom.procter5d ago

The criticism has been a bit overboard, not helped by Tuchel’s comments. His injury problems in the last year have been well documented

philchristie19555d ago

My understanding is that any player picked turns up unless his clubs medical staff provide a reason why he can't play which is then agreed with the England medical staff. Seems to me that Tuchel is trying to apply his tough love in the same way he did for Jude

markmarston5d ago

I can’t understand why Palmer would get criticised?? He’s just been plagued by an injury for over a year, what’s wrong with managing it and ensuring he doesn’t aggregavte it further 🙈🙈😂

leeclarke05085d ago

Thinks it's because he wasn't selected at the World Cup. Hardly smacks of someone desperate to play for England withdrawing for load management purposes does it?

martin.crawford5d ago

Choosing not to play for your country, as Palmer clearly has here, obviously deserves criticism. It’s a bad look. Feels like he’s given up on trying to impress Tuchel

fsinawaro4d ago

When he was left by the coach for the world cup no one talked about that, not even thinking about how he feels to be left out of by his country

chillout5d ago

I’d give up too - Tuchel won’t be there long. Impress the next one - Palmer might even be rewarded by being sejected to go play in major tournament’s then.

dakir.thanveer5d ago

Ultimately it's up to the player and their club. If they decide to pull out, end of

david.comerford5d ago

Citing 'load management' when you don't have European competitions this season was never going to be a good look

george.patten5d ago

Unfair - Everyone knows he wasn’t fit last year and that’s why his level dropped. Why overplay him the minute he gets back to his best?

philchristie19555d ago

Clearly was not fit last season and like many players at Chelsea they look after their workload to try and ensure the injury does not happen again.

markmarston5d ago

Spot on

chillout5d ago

I’m not sure I get this - surely it would be Chelsea’s medical staff who will be driving this, not the player. Not sure why it’s unexpected that already tired and overworked players (and their clubs) don’t want to play in fairly meaningless games. I’m sure Tuchel would have had a completely different view of all this as a club manager.

johnverrall115d ago

Weren’t you criticising Kane for missing a penalty ‘when it matters’ a couple of days ago? But now this is a meaningless game. It simply can’t be both.

markmarston5d ago

Bang on 👏

jordan.harris5d ago

It never seems consistent to me. And it’s oddly the players who probably get kicked more than anyone that take the brunt of it
