What will success look like for Graham Alexander at Preston? 🤔
dantowen819514d ago
Survival this season. Mid-table would be a good achievement, also try and get Kenny and Erabi firing
markmarston4d ago
Such a tough one… safety feels like the obvious answer but that’s not ambitious. Ultimately, success will be getting in the play-offs at some stage
Preston have announced Graham Alexander as their new manager! Immediate reaction?
jamie.theodosi6d ago
Did I call this a few weeks ago?👀 I need to look back. Solid appointment to steady their ship

Obviously a legend so get the attraction of helping a club out that means so much to you but it’s entirely plausible that he could’ve been in the division above with Bradford. Seems weird
markmarston7d ago
Solid but not masively inspiring. Leighton Baines was an interesting candidate. Would Corberan have joined? Seems like there may have been better out there
Preston have clearly made Bradford boss Graham Alexander their first choice... thoughts? 👀
dantowen8195110d ago
Makes a lot of sense! Alexander falls right between the underwhelming Rowetts and the probably unattainable Corberans

Everton assistant Leighton Baines is being linked with the Preston job... thoughts? 🧐
dantowen8195113d ago
Interesting. If they can’t get a Corberan or an Edwards, it’s early enough in the season to take a punt on someone like Baines
markmarston13d ago
Would be a massive risk of course but he’s rated very highly at Everton. Players love his coaching. Even being considered as a Moyes successor according to some reports
Late heartbreak for Preston! What did you make of the 2-2 draw with QPR? 🤔

Steve Cooper is out of work after leaving Brondby in May... would you take him Preston fans? 👀
george.patten17d ago
Good manager for the situation they’re in imo. Thought he would be a top manager at one point, strange to see him fall this low
♥ 1
lrandall121017d ago
Yeah he’s proven in the Championship. Him or maybe Rob Edward ,
jameslloyd14.jl18d ago
Would be silly not to! Really good manager for this level

Gary Rowett is a name being floated around to replace Paul Heckingbottom... thoughts? 🤔
Rowett left Leicester City at the end of last season...
george.patten19d ago
He’d do a job, but wouldn’t excite the fans. And he hasn’t got much to work with…
jamie.theodosi19d ago
This would be championship suicide by Preston. Appoint Rowett and relegation is almost guaranteed
markmarston19d ago
He’d be a safe pair of hands but hardly inspiring… then again look at what he did at Millwall. He can get close to the play-offs with time and patience. Might not be the best watch mind
Anyone for Rob Edwards, Preston fans? 👀
jamie.theodosi19d ago
I really don’t see Preston attracting any of the big name out of job managers. Saw their fans calling for Carlos Coberan but that seems like a 1% chance of happening. I think Edwards will hold out for the Wrexham job or another big team who are failing (Burnley?)
dantowen8195119d ago
Yes, until Edwards gets an offer from a club higher up the league and leaves Preston in the lurch 😭after talking about how much of a ‘family’ the club is
leeclarke050820d ago
Not sure you know. I think PNE need a firefighter. Alexander at Bradford maybe?
Carlos Coberan has left Valencia… would you take him Preston fans? 👀
dantowen8195119d ago
He’d be my pick! He can organise a defence for a start!

I really like Corberan. Thjnk he did so well at WBA with both hands tied behind his back. Would be a good appointment
♥ 1
george.patten20d ago
They would take him in a heartbeat. Think he could do better than Preston tho
♥ 1
Big decision… I think Heckingbottom deserved more time. Although it’s been a poor 2026, not just this season. Question is, who comes in?
daviescallum4220d ago
I think he’s just been the victim of the club’s general bad fortunes at the moment. Not necessarily his fault, and can’t imagine his stock will be damaged much for being sacked anyway

chillout21d ago
I think this was always gonna happen. Were many people’s favourites to go down before a call was kicked this season.
george.patten21d ago
Hecky definitely wasn’t the problem at Preston, but gets to the point where you almost have to change things just to see if it helps. Not sure who would want to come in at this point
Hear from Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom after the Watford defeat... thoughts on his assessment of the game?
thatfan26d ago
Typical Preston. Their unbeaten run of one game has come to an end 😭

Preston suffer a 2-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road... what needs to change? 🧐
markmarston26d ago
Be patient with Hecky… the results will come ⏳

Preston beat Blackburn 2-1! Thoughts? 🤩
thatfan28d ago
Pressure was on after a poor start to the season and they delivered. So often Preston blow a lead. Anyone know how many points Preston dropped from winning positions last season?
thatfan28d ago
Much better from the team in a local Derby
Hear from Preston's deadline day signing Liam Gibbs 🎙️
Happy with the Gibbs addition Preston fans?
thatfan31d ago
Given the current situation at Preston, just glad they made some signings. The cheer from crowd during game when was shown on big screen at deepdale says it all

A record-breaking transfer window for Preston… over £15m spent! How would you rate the club’s business?
thatfan32d ago
Devine on paper is one of PNEs best ever signings. However he needs to prove his worth on the pitch. Watched him against Wolves and he was nothing special.
♥ 1
markmarston32d ago
I think Devine is obviously the standout name… super signing. Feel like wayyyyy too much has been spent on Clarke. Johnny Kenny is an exciting addition. Hecky has certainly been backed…

Preston lose at home to Bristol City. What did you make of that?
thatfan32d ago
Typical Preston. Fight their way back into the game then crumble

I find it baffling! Managers having to prepare for games tonight when they might be needed to be involved in a transfer offer! 🤯
thatfan32d ago
Clearly didnt help them Tuesday night 😭
Back at Deepdale this evening as Preston host Bristol City... score predictions? 👀
markmarston34d ago
Preston need thier first win badly… no better chance than at home under the lights. I’m going for a 2-1 win. Pressure off Hecky

Preston fall to their third league defeat in row… thoughts? 😬

Two games, two defeats. What did you make of the loss to Wolves?! 😔
thatfan31d ago
Typical Preston. They were the better team uo until that point but didnt put the ball in the net. Wolves had one chance and stuck it away
dantowen8195143d ago
Why on earth did they give Fer Lopez the entire pitch to run into and score the opener? Baffling Could hardly have made a worse start to the season
jonathan.gorrie43d ago
Need some new players in badly. Squad is so weak

An opening day loss to newly-promoted Bolton was far from ideal... but what do you make of our predictions now? 👀
james.brooke49d ago
Theyll be mid table as always, and Bolton look decent
leeclarke050849d ago
They'll be fine I think. Just a blip yday.
dantowen8195149d ago
It feels like everyone is viewing Preston as relegation candidates atm. This performance does nothing to assuage that
Ouch! A 2-1 defeat at Bolton to start the season 😔 How did you feel about the game?
jordan.harris50d ago
Awful performance! Very worrying
jonathan.gorrie50d ago
Grim, might have scored again late on but that was painful for large parts
Ben Whiteman has insisted there is ‘two sides to every story’ after leaving Preston 🤔

Preston are close to completing a £2m deal to sign Delano Burgzorg... happy with that addition? ✍️
dantowen8195160d ago
Not particularly 😂nowhere near good enough with his end product. Doesn’t move the needle at all for me, especially after the Esse links
Hecky says Whiteman has crossed a line - how do you feel about the midfielder now? 🤔
jonathan.gorrie62d ago
Player power is so annoying

Preston want to sign Palace winger Romain Esse on loan... would you be happy with that? 🤔
kyle.dimond67d ago
From a Preston point of view, feels like a no brainer. I’d be surprised to see Palace go for it though. Feels like a deal that benefits one side a lot more than the other
lee.connor67d ago
He’d be sound for Preston and most Championship clubs would take him so it’s a no brainer.
jameslloyd14.jl67d ago
Would be a great bit of business if Palace will sanction it. I think he can do better than PNE tho
Here’s some interesting random stats & facts about Preston:
chillout92d ago
In 1888/89, Preston North End became the first team to win the English Double - the Football League Championship and the FA Cup. Preston is one of only 5 clubs who have won all four professional divisions in the English pyramid. Before becoming a global icon, David Beckham was sent to Preston for a one month loan spell in 1995 from Manchester United.
Preston's fixtures are out! What’s your take on the first five games? 🤔

Preston fans will have been disappointed at the way the season finished - in January they were just three points off an automatic promotion slot. Are the club sleeping walking into danger ?
jamie.theodosi118d ago
May be a controversial take, but I think Preston will be much closer to relegation than promotion next season. I just don’t think Paul Heckingbottom is the manager to take them up or into the play offs. Wouldn’t be a coach that would strike much enthusiasm into me as a Preston fan.
kyle.dimond118d ago
Yeah, a real risk of the championship getting harder and them getting left behind
dantowen81951118d ago
A big issue for next season is that some of their star players were loanees. Devine, Dobbin and Jebbison will go, and they really missed Harrison Armstrong when Everton recalled him in January
How many signings do Preston need?
callum_boyle118d ago
Preston operate like L1, L2 clubs in that they probably need a high turnover of players every season to keep it fresh. Their big issue is that they have no real sellable assets to generate funds to invest into the squad. Wheeling and dealing but you’d say at least six or seven
♥ 1
How do Preston finally become promotion candidates?
markmarston118d ago
By getting a bit of fortune with some PL2 loans blended with experience. The hope is they end up with a future world beater that’s at a big academy
♥ 1
callum_boyle118d ago
Become that nasty, horrible side to play again. Winning free-kicks, being physical, nicking a goal here and theee. Get in opposition teams’ faces
Should Preston sign Lewis Dobbin permanently?
callum_boyle118d ago
Absolutely. Looked like he really enjoyed his spell there and played a massive contribution. A shining light who would do well for them and not cost too much
Can Preston compete financially with bigger clubs?
callum_boyle118d ago
It would require outside investment. Really hard for a club like Preston to compete but underdogs are great stories. If Millwall could finish top four, so can Preston
