What do you think of Wayne Rooney's comments? He says he 'doesn't deserve' the 2011/12 league title
City could be stripped of their league titles, posing the question over who would become champions?

It's one thing saying you should have had them but when you didn't how can you celebrate it 14 years later, you can't, I don't want Utd to get more titles off City, but I do want City stripped of them because they didn't win them, the only good thing that Utd would get us at least it wouldn't be 13 years since our last title, but it papers over the cracks!!!

I think they should lose all their titles, but others shouldn’t be awarded them. Just null and void

I don't blame him for saying it. It's hard to accept in the circumstances. But Man City should be punished and their trophy should be struck off.

I agree to an extent, it wouldn’t feel like a title win. I think voiding the league would be the answer, or just transferring the trophy if City are expelled in retrospect

Wayne Rooney is absolutely correct. Why take a medal from a player who was part of a winning team, a player who unaware of developments in his midst❓The players were all blood, sweat and tears in winning the League, so who wants seconds, and charity from the Cityzens. Admire Wazza's stance, and it''s the way to go‼️

He is defo right. Just a shame he doesn't have the opportunity to actually enjoy it because of some terrible decisions from Man City.

I mean he’s right… it just wouldn’t feel the same would it
adnan.riaz4d ago
Yup. He hit the nail on the head. As a Man Utd fan, I wouldn't want us to be awarded the trophy. Should I enjoy it now for someone getting caught out?

He has a point that United’s players felt like they lost the league that year, rather than City actually winning it We lost away at Wigan late and conceded two late goals to draw 4-4 v Everton, so that Aguero moment was totally avoidable and ultimately on us That doesn’t mean City shouldn’t be punished though…

I think they will just put an * beside their title wins to mark the years they’ve been proven to have cheated.

This is the best way to tackle. Would 100 per cent support it.

That being the case, do those who finished 2nd have a legal case to reclaim win bonuses+ interest? Also was there a sponsor uplift + interest. Well done City, what a mess!
thetruthpersonified5d ago
Bit of a distinction here? Does not want the medal, but bet he would not refuse any win bonuses.. They really go together surely. But I do see his point.
adnan.riaz4d ago
Doubt he really cares about the money considering how much he has made and continues to make.
dancoombs5d ago
I would argue that if City are proven to have cheated… I would suggest Rooney very much does deserve to have an extra winner’s medal

Can’t believe it but I’m with Wayne here. You simply can’t be celebrating something you didn’t win, wouldn’t feel right.

He's just saying what is common sense. Every football fan should think like this, no matter where their club loyalty lies.
