Do YOU want Man Utd to get the two titles owed if City are stripped of theirs? Jose Mourinho has made his position clear

United 'finished second' in 2012 and 2018 for the period related to City's 115 charges

rodstorey4d ago

Difference is City put illegal money in. Glaziers robbed MU of legal money, making the club poorer

ericisgod664d ago

Im not sure anyone will take United on. The value of the club has risen to Glazers would want more, then there is £2-4 billion for stadium, the total debt of £1.4 billion that they wont fix before they go. If they were to sell they would want between $6 and $10 billion so someone will need between $10.6 and approx $18 billion to put it right.

ericisgod664d ago

I stafted a Gofund me recently GROG- Get Rid Of Glazers. I did it in anger after The city loss.

ericisgod664d ago

I wanted to respond to the what is worst glazer takeoer v city cheats. The Glazers robbed us of more than 2 titles. Almost 900 mil in interest, destroyed or assets, made 1.9billion off us and then 6 enter forbes billionaire list between 2&2.2 billion each! And we are over £1 bill in debt. I wrote a book aboutit 2023 updated to Aug 2026.

yes

I suggest 2 points deducted for every charge. A total of 228 points. 60 deducted this season which will mean they are relegated. The remaining 168 to be held in abeyance until they return to the EPL. Then a further 60 to be deducted in that season meaning they are relegated again. Leaving 108 in the pot. Next time in EPL, 60 more deducted forcing relegation

kadirmuhaideenhussein5d ago

Both the Glazers and Sir Jim 🐀Cliffe should be ordered to sell their stakes in Manchester United and open bidding so that a new owner or conglomerate can buy the club to rekindle the glory days of the Sir Alex Ferguson’s era! Surely an Arab owner be it Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad at-Thani of Qatari 🇶🇦 Royalty and another Arab prince, who could buy the club!

brook0106d ago

I hear you all but would we actually say no if they did give us the titles? 😅 The punishment needs to be big though, I’m not sure how you make it touch the sides when the owners are *that* rich but I’m sure people smarter than me will have some ideas

armanmohammdi136d ago

The question is: Will justice actually be served or not? City used to be a weak club. Since 2008, in a relatively short period of time, they managed to become league champions. Wouldn’t it have been better to deal with this before the club became a serious and internationally recognized one? Before they became such a major club? Now they have a successful ac

armanmohammdi136d ago

Now they have a successful academy, unfortunately they have a modern stadium, and they have an international fanbase. Would stripping them of their titles or relegating them from the league actually prevent other clubs from doing the same thing? From cheating?

rohamred16d ago

The trophies should be returned—especially the 2012 Premier League title. The events of that final week were among the reasons for Sir Alex’s premature retirement and our descent into the chaos of the last decade. Please give us back our trophies.

robdunning416d ago

We talk about city and its not good what they did regarding ffp, but look abroad and how can Real Madrid and Barcelona say they have abided by this, they spend ridiculous amounts and never investigated.

deniskermode6d ago

no brainer, YES

kevin.barker10041w ago

Yes we should get those 2 titles plus about 600 million compensation! re Champion League places we were robbed of.

stevieb_one1w ago

EBeing 73 now having supported Manchester United most of my life, I would like nothing more than getting at the noisy bunch the other side of our city , however being a realist the players of city won their trophies on the pitches not in the boardroom, where the cheating lies, they have to be punished severely of course they do. Now unless there was cheating

dancoombs1w ago

The challenge is that City’s owners are so rich that however much you fine them, it’s a drop in the ocean they would just see as a price of doing business. You have to relegate them multiple divisions

seanfisher1w ago

Yeah I can’t see the trophies being handed back out to other teams. But one thing for sure is that City’s “history” is completely in the bin

barryroberts721w ago

Cheating is cheating, City should be stripped of everything they won in that time period, and as much as i would love it for us i think it should be void, and have that written into the history books. Lance Armstrong had 7 titles stripped because he cheated and they ended up putting 'no winner' in the record books.

barryroberts726d ago

Since all this came up about City and before they were found GUILTY i said that the punishment should never be a fine, you are talking about a club who just paid over 200m on 2 players like it was monopoly money so fining them will be a joke. Strip them of the titles, relegate them down to Div 2 and start them off on a big points deduction.

stephenjholmes11w ago

There is only ONE Premier League team who have secured a TREBLE. We might be the laughing stock of the Premier league at the moment, but we won all of our silverware honestly!

seanguitar1w ago

Yes

cwalker141591w ago

How about we strip them of all titles that they won by less then ten points? But only re-assign those titles to the runner up if they were at least ten points clear of third place. In other words we only reallocate if we can be pretty certain what the result would have been without City's cheating. e.g. 2012, 2019, 2022.

stephenjholmes11w ago

The problem with trying to give any trophies is, the initial period is only the start of a snowball. If the first title was gained unfairly , then the impact of that one renders any further victories tainted by association.

mrhglass1w ago

Strip titles, give them to the team who was cheated, pay compensation to teams that have suffered, penalty City the money they have falsely earned, this alone would of adjusted what they could afford going into the next years. Throw them out of the league to show the authority and integrity the Premier league. What about the betting Companies who paid out.

geldroper6d ago

Yes but the fine have to go to the Man City club not to the owners because they have so much money the do not care . Any fine is just pocket money and it doesn't change them. they will do it again. They just wan tittels at any cost

callum_boyle1w ago

Stripping them of the titles I agree with but I don’t think you should award them to others. It wouldn’t feel right. Cheated or not, those sides didn’t win ten league. Then it opens the can of cups etc which is even more complicated

robdunning411w ago

Theyve gone now, Bing a UTD fan it Paul's me that this has happened but its not the players fault or the fans fault, yes fine them massive points deduction, but you can't take the titles away, it doesnt ring right. I wouldn't like it if it happened to us

callum_boyle1w ago

I think stripping them of the titles is plausible but I don’t think they should hand them out to others. As a Leicester fan, we were denied Champions League spots two years in a row because of this. I certainly wouldn’t want them back right now because what’s the point? 😂

geldroper1w ago

The leaque should relegate them for 2 years and not be allowed to buy players. And stripped from those titels and they should be void

robdunning411w ago

Relegation punishes city yes, but the teams in the league they go to will also suffer because city will possibly stop some of them getting promoted

keithsmyth3761w ago

I'm a Liverpool fan, and am over the moon with these charges, Hope they get relegated and a big points deduction and pay the compensation that's due to Liverpool and United and get a transfer ban and a huge fine, Good riddance to City they won't be missed, as they where a small club until the money arrived, they are a club with no history and false support

seanfisher1w ago

I could see all of that happening apart from the compensation tbh, but feels like a BIG punishment is on the way

richardb91w ago

Put Man City in the Nations League. Get them to pay £400M to United, Arsenal and Liverpool. Boot out their unfit owner. Then start a series of one-off match 'replays' for the FA Cup finals and leagues etc they unjustly won. Perhaps with them not able to field their 11 most expensive signing.

seanfisher1w ago

Replays for all the finals would be crazy 😅 i can’t see them going back and rewriting history

jekoyemiayo251w ago

For me I am alway surprised on how they spend money though they sell players well but the amount spent to get players is way more too expensive than the previous one

knightinwhitesatin1w ago

They reckon we could be owed as much as £200 million in compensation but I doubt that would be spent on team transfers

freddiejbrad1w ago

Just take the title s off them and compensate clubs who lost out financially it will be another 3years before it is sorted out

theworm1w ago

Sure 🤣🤣🤣 man

geoffparkinson23091w ago

They should have all titles stripped from them kicked out of Prrmier League and have to apply to join Football League if the accept them in Dovision 2 and Titles give to Runners up in Competition they won? Owners to be fined heavily and not allowed to own a club in England then let UEFA and FIFA do there part?

dancoombs1w ago

Agree with all of this - I’d probably be even harsher!

theworm1w ago

Let be grateful that they're found guilty as we wait for the punishment

jonny1w ago

Void them and make City pay compensation for both titles

dancoombs1w ago

Void for me - I can’t celebrate them but I can take satisfaction from City being stripped of them plus being confirmed as cheats. Secondary factor, if we were awarded them so would Liverpool and I can’t accept Gerrard with a medal, so void.

pranav.shahaney1w ago

You wouldn’t celebrate them, sure, but it’s a good one for the history books. 25 years later it’s not going to be discussed as a technicality. Clubs will add it to their tallies and not really bother
